Great basic model

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

This was a great basic refrigerator to replace our old one. We needed something that would fit in a smaller space but give us maximum room inside, and this one was perfect. We only wish we would have gotten the in freezer ice maker with it instead.

My new black refrigerator

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I’m loving my new black refrigerator. It’s been so long since I had a new refrigerator years years ago anyway, I’m thinking God for my refrigerator just recently found an owl that it’s no light at the top part of the refrigerator. I wouldn’t have purchased this refrigerator if I have known I should’ve did my research more better but is here now it’s too late so I can adjust. it’s just a little different not having a light in the top part of the refrigerator but other than that, I’m loving it thank you.

Old School and Modern

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Wasn't sure if I wanted to go back to a top freezer refrigerator but this one is very modern. Big and bright inside. Deep doors. Adjustable shelving. Two clear bright vegetable/fruit bins. Only downside is I wished it had an egg compartment.

Terrific roominess inside and a good layout of shelves and door spaces. Freezer freezes!!!

Solomonkitchen · Sep 18, 2025

Noticably bigger inside than my old 18 c.f.

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I really wanted a fridge with handles, and I wanted one simple enough to work on myself, plus fewer things to go wrong. The deep doors are great! It seems to keep temps in a tighter range than my old one with electronic controls. Plus I'd swear it runs less. However it is a bit louder than my old Whirlpool, but not bad. One problem was the first thing I did was remove the back plate to inspect, and the refrigerant tube going up into the box was out quite a bit. It even made the plate bulge. I didn't want any galvanic action between the copper and steel so I had to cut a slot in the plate for the tube to stick out of. Plus it was a very messy braze job on the tube.

Great fridge! Seems to regulate temps well!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This is a really nice fridge. Very pleased with our purchase. Just have a couple of things that bother me a little. When you close the fridge door a little hard, the freezer door will open and close quickly. You have to be very gentle when opening and closing the doors. Also there is no covering over the wheel at the bottom on the right side of this (hinged) fridge. It looks a little awkward having a covering on one side and not the other. I am somewhat confused as to whether this fridge will require a regular filter change. I will need to call and find out. Love the look, size (lots of space on inside of fridge and on the side of the doors, and the great job that it does cooling!

Overwhelming Happy

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I recently purchased the Frigidaire FFHT2022AB and could not be happier with the value and performance so far. The refrigerator has a clean, modern appearance, runs quietly, and cools extremely well once properly set up. I was especially impressed with how much usable space Frigidaire was able to fit into a practical footprint. One thing I really appreciate is the simplicity and functionality no unnecessary gimmicks, just a well-designed appliance that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The shelves are sturdy, lighting is excellent, and both the refrigerator and freezer maintain temperature consistently. I also want to compliment Frigidaire on continuing to build products that feel dependable and affordable at a time when that’s becoming harder to find. After researching several alternatives, this model stood out as one of the best overall combinations of quality, appearance, and value. Thank you for making a product that feels engineered for real everyday use. Very satisfied with my purchase and would absolutely recommend it to friends and family.

Fits Our Needs

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I am happy with our selection for the Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer combo unit. The primary focus for us was the width of the unit…must be under 32 inches to fit into our kitchen properly. We were glad to find this unit would fit and that it could be delivered in only a couple days time. It isn’t fancy, but it certainly fits our needs. I would have preferred a taller option, and some guidance on adjusting the front height (so that the doors close completely by default). Other than that, I have no issues with our purchase.

Powerhouse Compact Fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We bought this fridge to replace our previous one that broke down after more than 20 years of service. This fridge is a very good replacement. It was the biggest/best one we could find that would fit the space where our prior fridge was. Once plugged in, this fridge came to life and was cooling very quickly. Although it's unclear from the photos and the manual, the doors and handles on this fridge ***ARE*** reversible, which was a big selling point for us, as we needed the doors to open from the right to the left. We've only had this fridge for a few weeks now but overall we're very satisfied with our purchase.

Pretty good!

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I wanted a top mount fridge with no water or ice maker that's big enough for a single family home and this fit the bill! It's getting harder to fine non-smart appliances that aren't tiny for apartments. My biggest complaint is that the shelving does not have any central support of any kind and will bow under weight, which is disappointing. Other than that it's pretty good!

Marie2026 · Feb 14, 2026

Perfectly fit for purpose!

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

This fridge model was recommended by our appliance repair person as a low maintenance and affordable option. This style is one with which we are very familiar, as we have had a similar model in our basement for over 13 years. No dairy/deli drawers which we had on our previous Frigidaire model, but I purchased durable bins to organize these foods and that works great. This fridge aligns perfectly with our lifestyle, i.e. large shelves on the doors for various condiments/drinks, etc., easily adjustable shelves to fit just about any amount of leftovers, and a huge freezer section.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

Was surprised there wasn't a butter dish/area. Could only view online and the interior picks weren't good. Bought based on description. Also there seems to be a filter that needs changed but can't figure out how to open compartment where it's located. Manuals don't come with appliances anymore which is annoying to me. This model is a great little refrigerator to replace an older model. I have several Frigidaire products and look to them to provide a reliable product.

Needed a reliable garage fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Purchased the Frigidaire 20 cu ft garage fridge to replace a fridge we had in the garage the was unreliable. We have the Frigidaire for a few weeks now and it is working as excepted. We do like the amount of storage space in the fridge and it is well lit to view items. The top freezer works as expected and can hold more than I expected. Overall, this is a great product for a garage fridge and has worked well in temps of 110 degree heat index. We will see how it does this winter.

Solid choice for a second fridge. Runs quietly and efficiently. The 20cuft has sufficient room in the fridge and the freezer. Some reviews mentioned issues with the doors not closing properly. I haven't experienced any of that. A very well designed and manufactured product. Installation crew were extremely professional; couldn't be happier.

Outdoor shed refrigerator

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We purchased this refrigerator for our outdoor non-insulated shed to hold beverages. We researched and went with this brand and model as it is made to sit in areas that don’t have temperature control. During the hot summer it kept beverages cool and did not seem to be running very often to do so. We shall see how it does next year after sitting turned off thru the winter.

This refrigerator replaced a 15 year old model that was in the house when we bought it. Our new Frigidaire has way more shelf area and door storage than the old one. A slight upgrade

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

We had a similar style (different brand) refrigerator that was probably at least a decade old. It was starting to fail so we replaced it. I was excited for an upgrade, but it's not earth shattering. Despite it having almost 4 more cubic feet, it doesn't feel that much more spacious in the refrigerator. I think most of the new space is in the freezer, because I feel like we have to bend down further to get into the refrigerator, and crouch if I want to see the top shelf. Motor is louder than I would like also.

Frigidaire works fine

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

All is fine except the name plate on the freezer door was not put on straight. It would have been nice to have a cheese and lunch meat drawer hanging from one of the shelves like our previous fridge. It works and it is two cold in the main part of the fridge but working with the dial to get it the right temperature.

Jef62 · Aug 1, 2025

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

The refrigerator cools as it should and the freezer freezes as it should. There are some missing amenities however—no compartment on the door for butter, no meat / cheese drawer and it could use an extra shelf in both refrig and freezer. If I had realized it, would have taken them out of the broken frig and used them. May have to snitch them from the back up garage frig.

fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

How can I rate this new fridge since I've only owned it for about a week or so? So far so good if you want my opinion but time will tell. This fridge was replacing (at least in the house) another Frigidaire fridge I had for ten years and it is still working but it may have been due to the fact that it was overfilled and blocking the air flow causing to freeze all my food. I'd wake up and see the control panel indicating a temperature of less than 20F where it was always set to 39. It is one of those units that can either be a fridge or a freezer and used it as a fridge exclusively. Now it is relegated to the garage as an overflow fridge. I paid extra to have your delivery guys put it in the garage since there is no way I could do it myself or maybe even with help, that's how big it is. The new fridge is a top freezer and is rated as the best "type" of fridge to have, meaning it will deliver years of trouble free use. There are only a few things I'd like to point out with this type of fridge. You have to bend over or even squat to reach your food. This is going to be fixed by a pedestal I am building and will put underneath it. One more thing I'm not impressed with for most fridges today are the plastic bins. It wouldn't take much to break these if a little stress was applied to them. It is a very cheap feeling. Luckily, there aren't too many and most of the shelves in there are glass. Also, I can't tell what temperature it keeps my food at. I think today that all fridges should have some type of thermostat that shows you how cold your food is. I have now adjusted my older fridge to 37 because I could and it's a better temperature to keep your food at. I'm still not sure if I need to replace the control unit on this one but time will tell now that it is not packed full of food. It is hard not to fill you fridge with food, especially in the summer time when all the fruits and vegetables are in full bloom. The only downside I had with that fridge other than freezing my food was the door vacuum. It took at least two hands and my feet spread apart enough to pull the door open, every time. So, this new fridge makes it so nice to open now and I hardly need any effort to open the door. Too bad since it is garage ready and can take more temperature extremes than the old one. My issue is if the old fridge was going bad then I'd be stuck with this huge thing in the house that I'd have to move and having to get rid of it. Not all fridges last forever, I understand and ten years is not a bad run but I'm hoping for at least another five years out of it. But I can't say anything else about the new fridge of its performance or ability to keep my food from freezing. I'm hoping it will last as long as my friend's top freezer Frigidaire that he's had for almost twenty years. This is the best case scenario for this fridge. Too bad the freezer is on top since I hardly use it. I could have gotten a bottom freezer but their track record isn't as good as the top freezer variety. Check back with me in five, ten or even twenty years on this one. You'd think the appliances should be lasting longer today because of technology but if you add too many features on it and try to cut down on production costs, then people are let down and loose confidence in the brand.

Do not but this junk! The only thing worse than the quality of the refrigerator is the the lack of concern from Frigidaire. Broken within 8 months and no remedy available. Good So Far!

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

My old refrigerator would no longer defrost, and I needed an inexpensive replacement. This refrigerator has been good so far, but I had a strange thing happen. Upon delivery, I could not get the handles on due to a defect. I was sent a replacement, but in the meantime I was able to use the one with the defect. I only had it for about a week, but during that time the bottom shelf randomly shattered one day. There was very little on the shelf, and I was completely baffled about how it shattered the way it did. I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen with my current fridge! Otherwise I am very happy with the product.

Garage Fridge

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

Our old garage fridge went out and we replaced it with this garage ready model. Very nice for a garage fridge. Only complaint would be the reversing of the hinge side of the door. I’ve done this quite a few times with various brands and this one was the toughest. Instructions weren’t 100% clear and it felt a lot more complicated than others I’ve done. But that’s a one time inconvenience and everything else about the fridge is great. Glass shelves in the freezer is an upgrade over wire from the old one. Crisper drawers are on wheels which is nice.

Pretty Good BUT Room for Improvement

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I replaced my older Frigidaire which I bought 24 years ago and was still running good. This newer version has shelving on the door that holds more than the older one. The shelving has a ridge at the back, which takes up a little of the shelf space. This one runs more often and has a louder fan than the older one. My biggest disappointment (I bought online) was that the doors do not have the "sculptured" finish like the older one, even though it does on the top and sides. Sculpturing is much better when it comes to finger prints. I do prefer that the newer one does not have the dust-collecting grate at floor level in the front.

The new fridge works great. This is the 2nd one we bought in 8 years. The first one is still running strong, but we bought a new one for the new house. This model cycles on and off way fewer time than the old one, but it is keeping perfect temp. I do believe it is energy saving based on cycle rate of the compressor. also, my wife and I both think the internal storage seems a slight bit bigger than the older model. But it might just be us.

I love the two roll out drawers. What I most definitely miss, is a butter section or as my niece likes to call it "a butter home". Those were great features which kept the refrigerator much more organized.

My small Frigidaire

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

In a limited space for a refrigerator I felt lucky to find a perfect size. The Frigidaire works well and has plenty of room inside with door shelves added. Very happy with this refrigerator.

Nice Addition

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I like the refrigerator. I thought it would hold more inside but I will make it work. It is very appealing. I struggled getting the top handle attached but it seems to keep my food at an even temperature so far.

Cools great and looks very nice. The only issue I’ve had is that the doors don’t close back themselves. You really have to make sure you push them closed. Other than that, I love it!

Good Basic Fridge

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

This is exactly what I needed for my kitchen space. It's working very well. The new technology sounds were a surprise. Glad I read the manual! My only regrets are that it doesn't have a deli drawer or a covered butter area in the door. Not a deal breaker. All in all, I'm happy with my new fridge.

Perfect Upgrade

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

I had an old old old frigidaire fridge that I was holding onto due to the lifespan. The door shelves were gone but the unit was still working great. Unfortunately after many years it finally died. Ordered a new updated version in black to match my new kitchen theme and it came in great condition, works great. Looks like it’s a few inches taller but the inside seems HUGE (or maybe the shelves help) beautiful product

Nice refrigerator-but noisy

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

I bought this fridge because we have almost the identical model in the basement that was bought in 1985 and have never had an issue with it. The new model is very nice, with a modern look to it as well as updated (but not overly electronic-y, if that makes sense). The glass shelves, while not a favorite, are good quality and sturdy, but the door shelves seem a little thin. Functionally, the whole fridge and whole freezer compartments hold a steady temperature, which is very nice as my last fridge, an Amana, froze whatever was in the back of the top refrigerator shelf and the freezer was inconsistent as well. My main complaint is the noise. It’s not a “there’s something wrong” noise, it’s just louder than previous units I’ve owned (including the 1985 model). I’d have given this fridge 5 stars if it were just…quieter…because all the other things I’ve mentioned are really minor. Overall, I’d buy this unit again and as long as you’re okay with a little louder running, I’d recommend it for others.

AJ Madison · 4 out of 5 stars

My other fridge quit working almost completely the day after Christmas. I don't have the $ to buy a new fridge. My church bought this one for me. It is almost exactly like my old fridge. I like the model they chose and am happy with it. It is roomier in some ways and more efficient as well. I am so grateful to have this fridge.

Exactly what we need

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

We needed a fridge to fit a very specific place , and this was perfect. It's a great budget choice - no bells and whistles - but it works perfectly. The fridge got down to temperature within 10 minutes of plugging it in, and it's been consistent ever since. We love how adjustable the shelves are, especially compared to our last fridge which was "higher end". The only thing I might have a problem with is that the door shelves feel a bit flimsy, but we haven't had a problem.

Frigidaire

AJ Madison · 5 out of 5 stars

My recent refrigerator replacement is a part of my overall Frigidaire family of products including oven range, disposal, dishwasher, washer, compactor, chest freezer, and 50 year old dryer. Reliability, dependability, and efficiency have proved the value for all of the appliances in my home. I feel that I am much better off with Frigidaire in my home than I would be otherwise.

Uneven cold settings

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

While I love the look, convenient size and easy-closing doors, my Frigidaire has uneven cold settings. If the freezer is at the right temperature, the refrigerator is so cold it freezes celery and zucchini. In another annoyance, the stock photos show a full width, under shelf drawer -- which did NOT come with the refrigerator. It's available, but had to be ordered separately. I have a tech coming out to check the temperature gauges.

Would be willing to pay more

AJ Madison · 3 out of 5 stars

The refrigerator that this model replaced had extra features. I needed a refrigerator immediately since mine has stopped working. There is a very limited selection of top freezer models, and they seem to be "low end". Not very household needs a super-size unit or has the space for one. That does not mean that there isn't interest in the extras in a smaller unit. In addition, I am appalled that the life expectancy of the unit is less than 10 years. I live in my childhood home. Over 75 years this will be the 4th refrigerator. In the past the average life of the units was 25 yrs.

total absence of a printed owners manual is unacceptable - numerous senior citizens have NO access to to smart phones ! - when unit kept running for hours thought it was defective, your help line closed + sellers appliance store closed, had to wait till next day [Saturday] + your help line closed for the weekend - dealer explained that running condition is normal - still need user manual for maintenance, cleaning, + feature instructions ! -

Got the fridge may 2024 and the thing has completely stopped working. Freezer went 1st then the fridge. Tried replacing a few parts and no luck. Lost all my groceries I just purchased. If they are going to make things so cheaply maybe offer a longer warranty or better yet drop the price. Nothing is made to last anymore..

Shrill high pitched ringing

AJ Madison · 1 out of 5 stars

Do not buy this refrigerator unless you are both hard of hearing and don’t own pets. When the unit cuts on it emits the worst high pitched ringing sound. We called Frigidaire who sent out a repair man. The repair checked it out and said that’s just the sound it makes. I’ve never owned a fridge this awful.
