Good for small family.

My previous refrigerator was the GE Profile, my absolute favorite with the adjustable shelves and so much space even for a 30" width fridge, but they made it taller and now does not fit in my space. After my GE, I purchased a Kenmore with French doors but it was a mistake since it opened in front of the kitchen door, a mistake because everyone passed by and it broke. It was during Covid and the door took over a year to arrive so we ended up buying this Whirlpool. I chose this one because of the adjustable shelves. As for space, it's the smallest of all. They added width to the door storage compartments and that made the interior and the two drawers much smaller (the celery doesn't even fit lengthwise. So the French door arrived and now I have two refrigerators in my kitchen. In the US we shop in bulk, Sam's, BJ, Costco, etc., and containers are big and therefore the fridge fills up with only a few items. Kenmore has thin shelves and door storage which allows more items. If the Kenmore came with one door, that would've been the best for me, and if you have the height, the GE Profile is the best in my opinion. But beware because they're changing everything and making them cheaper. Throughout the years, I've bought 3 times the GE Profile set and they have changed so much. I'll add pics for reference, I hope this helped!

The Big Chill Company has used the Whirlpool components for the working part of their retro design fridge! I had been looking at retro fridges for few years and glad I finally made the decision to purchase this one.

Single door with bottom freezer in white

Bought no frills refrigerator/ freezer with ice maker. Reasonable priced unit. Good use of space. Only criticism is that ice maker works too well, or bin is too small. Ice cubes often spill out onto floor when filling glass for my iced tea. Also, model in store had an adjustable spacer bar in top freezer rack, but mine does not. Asked store to see about getting one for me, but they never replied. Really not much selection in 30 inch refrigerators.

Purchased this Whirlpool after my Amana died after 19 years. Very similar. Basic features which works for me. Wished I had saved shelves from Amana to use in new Whirlpool. Had a shelf that slide out which would be nice to have along with the soda can dispenser. Saved the door bins that had mats. Fits in Whirlpool. Like new icemaker.

Design Questionable, Though Function is Fine.

This refrigerator appears to function well. The fit of the pull-out drawers for produce seems a bit insecure. The design of the bottom-freezer doesn't facilitate vertical stacking. Items have to be stacked on top of each other, making visual identification of items difficult.

The Fridge

Does the job

This refrigerator and freezer does the job. I did not know that it included an ice maker. When we plugged it in the ice maker kept making noise and we thought there was something wrong with the refrigerator. Luckily, the ice maker had a separate shut off switch so once I discovered that and turned it off the clunky noise quit. We did not want ice maker and will not use it.

I like the shelving space and the wide compartments on the door. Excellent fit for a small space! The one thing I'd improve is the top door swings out to easily and stays open . It doesn't return to the closed position without help, when it opens it could easily hit whatever is alongside the fridge. On the plus side, drawers and freezer are easily convenient and smooth .

Yes, we are happy we bought it. The price was a BIT HIGH but that's the way it goes? When the unit "kicks on" it makes a bit of a THUMPING sound.....not too happy with that noise.....sure hope it means nothing but "standard operating procedure". Time will tell I guess. We HAD a Maytag JUST LIKE THE UNIT WE BOUGHT for 18 years. That refrigerator served us well. I sure do HOPE it predecessor can "fit into those shoes". If NOT....I will not purchase another item from YOU.....like I said......TIME WILL TELL.....won't it.

Replacing old faithful

The only downfall I see with this is the door If you open the door all the way and let it go it swings all the way open and bangs against the door hinges. I would recommend having a feature like a soft close drawer , so it doesn’t end up loosening up

Good Refrigerator, cheap freezer baskets!

Bought this a month ago to replace a Whirlpool just like it but with french doors. I myself like the single door over the french doors. The french door model does look more modern but I feel I can get more items in the door of the single door model. One disappointing thing is the freezer baskets are wire and not solid plastic. If you drop ice cubes they will fall on the floor or in the bottom of the freezer and are difficult to retrieve. When we were looking at other Whirlpool refrigerators cheaper models had the solid containers, can't believe Whirlpool cheapened this model.

We have had this refrigerator installed for a week and overall we are happy with it. It is very similar to the Amana/Maytag refrigerator that we replaced, which makes sense since Whirlpool bought out Maytag. There are a few minor things lacking in the new frig, which mainly have to do with shelving and storage attachments. There is no divider in the freezer (there was a removable one in our Maytag), so all the frozen food in the drawer goes into one big bin. There is no covered butter keeper in the door, and there was one (a removable door compartment/shelf) in our Maytag. This is our first time having an ice maker and while it's a nice convenience, I wish there were a way to control the ice production quantity other than to simply shut off the ice maker (by raising the arm over the bin that catches the ice).

I am satisfied with the refrigerator. It works well and I enjoy the convenience of the bottom freezer. I went from French door to single door. Much better due to space considerations. Freezer is a drawer that pulls out easily and allows you to peruse the freezer's contents. My only disappointment is it feels cheap. The plastic drawers are very thin and feel fragile. When the door is closed it doesn't have that satisfying THUMP but more of a tinny sound.

Simple, well-designed, quality

We are very happy we purchased this great fridge. Its 30" width is perfect for the cut out in our circa 1968 home and the bottom freezer is great. I especially like the shelves on the door because there's no gap where things or liquid can spill out. The fridge is well-designed as far as the shelf configuration and we had no problem getting all our stuff in there. It also runs quietly, doesn't have those stupid lights on the front like our prior fancy Kenmore that was here when we bought our home and is a simple, good quality refrigerator. My husband and I are 76 and 67 years old and remember when appliances were made to last for decades, not 10 0r 12 years. We're confident that this will be our last fridge purchase since it's a Whirlpool.

Good features and overall quality

The refrigerator interior is spacous considering it's overall size. The adjustable shelves allow for customizing and optimizing the interior space to meet individual needs. One star was deducted for what appears to be expandable or packing foam stuck to the top of the frigerator near the hinges. This foam left a discoloration in the paint, which is not conspicuous but none the less should not be there. Also worth noting is this model refrerator does not have a built in water filter for the ice maker. An external water filter may be required.

It fit perfectly in the cabinet that our old refrigerator was in. A miracle, shopped a long time to find a bottom freezer that would fit. Most important it also had to be American made. I feel Whirlpool is the best appliance manufacturer. In my working days for a Utility I sold a lot of Whirlpool appliances. We also have a Whirlpool slide in Gas Range. I have a lot of confidence in Whirlpool.

Due to upper cabinets I am limited with my choices.. previous was a GE that was 20 cubic feet…but Whirlpool that size would not fit so I chose this…runs quietly and good even temperature… decent amount of space in both fridge and freezer..came with ice maker which is the only thing that’s noisy when it runs

My New Refrigerator

I have had the refrigerator approx 3 weeks and my only complaint is that seems to be very noisy at times.. There is a very loud noise occasionally that frightens me. Most noises last approx one minute. One morning I stayed in kitchen and tried to document noises 7:17 noise like a motor starting 7:20 loud buzzing noise lasting 10 seconds. 7:43 loud noise 8:50 motor starts 12N loud buzzing noise..I did not get a water dispenser or ice cube maker on my frig but apparently it has the option to have these things and wondering if noises are related to ice making and water dispensing trying to go on.There is an occasional noise like a fan running. Are these noises all part of the working of this model. There is one noise that scares me whenever it goes on..

Took extra time to get one in stock from another store in another town. It cools, it freezes as it should. Threw away lots of food so it’s pretty empty now. Produce drawers do not slide as easily as I was used to.

I love this refrigerator. At first, I was worried about the thumping noises I was hearing. But after speaking to my son, he told me the refrigerator was trying to make ice. Since I don't have it hooked up to water, he told me to turn off the ice making switch. I found it and turned it off. Now the refrigerator is very quiet. I hope this one will last as long as my Kenmore did, 16 yrs and counting.

I’ve had the refrigerator for a month and I am very pleased with its performance and quality. The only thing that I wish that I had is more freezer space but that’s due to the fact that I have limited space for the fridge. The temperature in both the fridge and freezer have been perfect! The ice maker makes ice very fast and the cubes don’t stick together which is nice. I highly recommend this refrigerator for those with limited space.

Still pretty new, anything can happen, but so far the only complaint is I have to use WD-40 to remove fingerprints from the door. Nothing else works. Other than that it’s pretty good. Runs much quieter than my old Amana. No regrets so far.

Transitioned to the freezer at the bottom after decades of the traditional refrigerator. Love this product. The layout of the shelves and the ability to adjust accordingly is typical but this refrigerator allows for better visibility and more space. The freezer with the sliding drawers is exceptional and also allows for better viewing of what's in stock.

Nothing fancy, but solid refrigerator so far

This refrigerator is a good replacement for our old appliance. At first we thought it was noisy - but then we realized that it came with the ice maker (which we chose not to hook-up) turned on and it was making a periodic loud noise (like a grinding noise almost?). After we identified the source and turned the ice maker off, the refrigerator has been much quieter than our old one. The freezer compartment is like a wire basket - very small items can fall through to the floor if the freezer is open. We didn't expect the freezer to look like this, but it hasn't been a problem so far.

Less bending, easy access

This refrigerator was purchased to replace a top freezer Whirlpool that wouldn't fit into the refrigerator opening in the cabinetry in the house we were moving into. We always had top freezers but absolutely love this arrangement better. No bending is required for most of the items retrieved from the refrigerator as before. The freezer is not accessed nearly as much as refrigerated items, it makes more sense to be on the bottom. Time will tell of its longevity and durability.

I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago. I so glad I picked a Whirlpool. I’m very happy with the features especially the freezer on the bottom. I wish it had a butter compartment but I can live without it. This refrigerator is the same size as my old one it holds a lot more food. I love how I can adjust the shelves to accommodate everything. The ice maker in the freezer on the bottom is one of my favorite features about this fridge.

I purchased this whirlpool product and should have bought it in the first place. I love the shelving system, easy to move and redistribute food. The freezer is large enough to hold all my goodies. The door shelving is large to hold those tall bottles of ketchup and milk leaving plenty of room in the rest of the refrigerator for other food items. It looks great and for its size it is mighty. I highly recommend this product especially if you have a smaller kitchen.

I bought this 2 weeks ago. Still figuring it all out. The only thing I don't like is that the door swings/opens back more than 90 degrees which ends up whacking the wall. I was hoping there was a stop so that I could limit the amount of swing but I can't seem to figure it out. Otherwise it seems to work well.

A nice basic appliance that fits my needs. However, the first 2 weeks of ownership we heard a loud sounding clunking from the fridge almost every half hour. We couldn’t figure out the sound. Finally we discovered when the fridge was installed Fred’s Appliances did not turn off the ice maker. We did not want that feature installed but they never looked to see if the ice maker was turned off or not. Very disappointing.

I purchased this bottom freezer refrigerator to replace an Amana. One of the issues was finding a size that would fit the space. This one is noticeably smaller. I’m generally pleased with it, but have some reservations. I don’t need an icemaker, but this is fitted with the icemaker option. Also, there is no container for storing eggs, and the movable containers for the door are problematic for arranging usable spacing.

I really like the bottom-freezer design; I access the fridge section more often than the freezer, so I find this configuration very user-friendly. If I have any complaints, it's the lack of a butter compartment in the door (my old refrigerator had one.) And sometimes the fridge portion develops a pretty strong vacuum lock... I have to crack open the freezer to break the vacuum. But otherwise, it's a nice sturdy unit; quiet, brightly lit inside, and cleanly styled. Well done, Whirlpool.

After much research we decided to get the Whirlpool 30" Bottom Freezer & Refrigerator. We are very happy with our purchase. The refrigerator is well laid out, & the lighting is superb! There is plenty of room for all of our needs.My only complaint is that the automatic ice maker, which we do not need, cannot be removed for more storage space in the freezer, without voiding the warranty.

Good shelves; poor crisper & deli drawers

I bought the Whirlpool Refrigerator model WRB329DMBM on 15 Sept 2022. I had two issues within the 1st three weeks. Both were fixed under the warranty. The first issue was the refrigerator made a loud “buzzing sound” when the compressor started to run. The problem was found to be the back panel in the freezer section, which was touching the coolant coils. The technician fixed this by applying a few strips of foam insulation on the backside of the panel. This repair required the removal of both freezer baskets, the freezer door, the freezer fan cover, and then the freezer back panel. Not a job for the amateur, in my view. The 2nd issue I had was the temperature of the refrigerator was wanting to stay at 41 degrees F and the freezer at 4 degrees F. This was at the default temperature settings of #4 for both the refrigerator and the freezer. Setting the freezer at #5 made it go down to -4 degrees F but had no effect on the refrigerator temperature. Setting the refrigerator at #5 or #6 did not affect the temperature much past the 41-degree F mark. The technician solved the problem by resetting the refrigerator down 2 notches using the control board in the diagnostic mode. He did not do any adjustment to the Freezer section. So, with the refrigerated and freezer both set at #5, I now have stable temperatures as follows: Freezer = -4F; Refrigerator = 36F on the 2nd self (1st shelf above the crisper); it quickly goes back to 36F after the door is opened. Refrigerator Door = 37F on 2nd Bin from the top; Refrigerator Door = 40F on very top Bin in the door.

Limited storage.

We have a width limitation of 32 and 3/8" inches so we selected the 30" refrigerator. This replaced our Frigidaire model, which had a much larger storage area. Losing storage was a large disappointment. We don't want water hookup, but we didn't have that option. Getting to the bottom of the freezer is a major challenge. Items fell to the floor and that was another challenge.

I was told this was a 19.5 cu.ft. and obviously it isn't! Not the fault of the manufacturer, that's on the salesman!!! So....Not as much room inside as I was expecting and the shelves don't help with the spacing problem unless some are left out! My main problem with this is that the door will not swing shut. Even if it's only open 3 inches, it swings wide open and slams against the hinge stop - if that's what it's called. If the pantry door next to it is open, it slams into that. If anyone actually reads this and has a fix, please let me know. Really tired of having to hold the door with one hand and trying to get stuff out with ONLY ONE HAND!

Biggest complaint is the ice maker which I didn't want and will never use! Takes up valuable space and just one more thing to go wrong, the #1 trouble point with any of these refrigerators over the years no matter whose name you buy. This is somewhat nosier than the Amama that we have had for 20 or so years. It appears to be the compressor 'kicking' in that creates a noticeable 'thump/clunk' when it starts that is very noticeable. Unit runs ok though. BUT, my BIGGEST complaint is/are your companies warranty registration. Even after I told here that I bought a 5 year warranty, she still went on and on tying to get me to buy yours. Early in the phone call she came out and said these basically only last 5 or 6 years, then the the sales pitch! Is that what you think of your products? Sell the product, then sell the warranty.

I had this appliance installed about 3 weeks ago. The best features are the ample size and placement of the shelves in the refrigerator section. Also the entire interior is well lit and makes it easy to locate items everywhere in both sections. On the downside, the appliance is very noisy. When the temperature is being adjusted there is a very prominent burst of noise as the motor kicks in. There is a series of clicks and starts that can be heard from three rooms away. Never had this situation in any prior appliance. I have purchased the recommended insurance so if there is something wrong, repairs should be covered.

The trays in the WP were also cheaper plastic and the ice maker tray a lot smaller. If I hadn't of had renters coming in the next day I would have looked for a better model.

It is working fine, but I’m not happy with the quality, the drawers are cheap material, I’m surprised that it doesn’t have a butter compartment, & because of space, the shelves are not easy to find a good fit. I’m moving items around a lot, because of that.

I’ve had the fridge for a week. It’s basic. No thrills. Ice maker. Came with more shelves than I could use. Drawers are smaller especially the one I use for luncheon meat and cheese. Keeps items cold in the fridge freezer keeps items good and frozen. Removable baskets in freezer should make cleaning easier. Overall it’s fair, but there’s only my husband and I and it suits us fine.

I wanted a French door refrigerator to replace my old two door 20.5 cu ft. refrigerator and had a hard time finding one in the size that I needed and in white to match the rest of my appliances. I ended up buying the whirlpool 18.7 cu. ft. bottom-freezer refrigerator. I wish it came in a 20.5 cu. ft. I had the settings set at 4 as recommended and it was freezing food in the frige compartment during the 1st week. I changed it to 3 and it was fine then I noticed food was going bad sooner than my old frige. I moved it back to 4 and it seems to be working ok now. The vegetable and fruit drawers are too small and pulls out completely almost every time I pull it out. I like the bottom freezer and also the extra space inside the frige where I can put things on while getting stuff from the back of the frige. It also makes a rattling sound which seems to be getting louder.

Useless crisper drawers

I bought this 10 days ago. It's an OK refrigerator. The crisper drawers are useless or too small. There is enough space in front to provide bigger drawers. Same size as a previous LG model and shelves were wider then this Whirlpool. A gallon of milk prevents easy access to other bottles on same shelf. For the price it would have been nice to have a shutoff button for the icemaker. The wire is difficult to reach. Divider in freezer should go down further to prevent small items from slipping between 2 sections.

It’s ok

The jury is still out. I’m not in love with this fridge; it was my only choice due to height limitation of cabinets. The fridge is handsome, and I like that it doesn’t have a lot of buzzers and whistles. This fridge replaces a 25-year old Amanda that was still purring along, if a bit wheezy. I figured better to replace before the old one completely died. Seems like overall quality is just kinda average. I’m dubious the plastic on the veggie drawers will hold up, and the veg drawers don’t close particularly smoothly. I miss the shelf-with-cover that lowers over the butter dish . The temperature swings between 34 and 40 degrees which seems like quite a lot to me. I don’t have a busy household and only open the fridge a few times a day. It was noisy at first, until I learned that the ice maker was turned to “on”. I didn’t want an ice maker, so didn’t connect it to water. But once I turned the ice maker off, the loud noises stopped. Yay for that! For energy efficiency, it seems pretty good, though interestingly, the power used in a year for this new fridge is identical to that of my 25-year old fridge that was slightly larger. Hmmm, go figure! Overall, I rate this refrigerator as average; nothing to wow you, but functional.

It works but falls short on the small things

I replaced what seemed to be the same bottom freezer fridge, but the details make it inferior. The door does''t have a curve to it so the bins are too skinny to all that much. The bins on the left and right aren't the same width so they're only interchangeable on the one side. I don't understand why new fridges also no longer have egg or butter containers. The freezer's main compartment is split in two and the ice container is way too large so there's no way of fitting a frozen pizza (at least it's not straightforward if it's possible). Also the ice maker is quite loud. I know the screws are there so the door can be reversed but it really does take away from the look of the fridge

Not happy at all with this refrigerator, same size as my old refrigerator but the setup of the interior is terrible, the light and controls are in the way making it hard to get taller items on the shelf the pull out drawers are hard to open and close, the ice bin is way to small, the overall construction is very cheaply made. I didn’t have time to wait for another choice or I definitely wouldn’t have purchased this refrigerator

Don’t buy!

I bought this a few weeks ago and am sorry I did. It seems to be working fine so far but it looks terrible. It is not clear from the picture but there are two screws on the outside of the stainless steel door. It appears as though they put screws on both sides and when you choose which side the handle goes on the other side has very visible dark grey screws (seem to be a heavy plastic) that are so obvious and ugly. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

Much has been done to cheapen the refrigerator from earlier models, no divider in freezer basket, no full width pull out drawer, no butter shelf with door, no slide out glass shelf. I regret that I hadn’t removed these items from our similar original refrigerator to use on the new one as they made things much more convenient.

Poor quality product

I just received mine today. I purchased this site unseen and there were plastic screws where the handle would go. I chose to have my handle on the right. What kind of cheap way of getting around where to put the handle is this! The crisper draws are cheap too! They will easily crack if you throw in an orange. Extremely disappointed in Whirlpool! I’m going to let the better business know about this!

Whirlpool gave me 20% off on a new refrig, which I had to shop online for and had to use the coupon within 30 days!!! I am extremely disappointed in the Whirlpool company! I would not recommend this company!

doesn't freeze food in refrigerator section

We got this one in place of the Maytag one we bought 3 months ago, that froze all our food in the refrigerator section, after three months of 6 visits to fix it and still freezing food, we were told we can replace it, unhappy with how long it took to replace it, and having to put up with food being frozen. We should get some compensation for inconvenience.

I bought this in November. I do not like how the refrigerator door swings all the way open upon opening the door. The shelves should be more adjustable. There is no door alarm. I do not like the wire bottom rack in freezer. I Had to buy a freezer mat for it. Also, ice cube tray takes up to much room. It should be removable.

Buyer Beware

Within 6 months the ice maker failed - covered by warranty. We have 2 other Whirlpool/Maytag appliances - relatively new - both required major repairs - one within the warranty period and covered and one not. Unknown what will happen in the future but seems to be a consistent lack of quality manufacturing.

Disappointment

Poor craftsmanship in doors and shelves. There are gaps in the sheet metal of the doors. Several external screws on top have heads protruding at an angle appearing to have been installed crooked. Shelves do not sit level and sides do allow for maximum space usage. Drawers do not fill the space they occupy. Meat/cheese drawer does not fit its space without using a higher shelf position wasting more space. Sadly my 29 year old Kenmore was superior product that had to be replaced.

Not a Quality Refrigerator for the Price.

I am generally unhappy with this refrigerator. It came with a broken shelf right out of the box, which has not been replaced. The door swings wide open even when opened just a couple of inches. The light fixture came partly off from where it was attached and was hanging down. I had to tape it back up with duck tape. The produce drawers are cheaply made and do not open and close easily. I had a Whirlpool model similar to this one for 13 years and it didn't have any problems; it was a quality product in every way. That's why I chose another Whirlpool. Anything good? The style is nice and it does keep the food cold/frozen and is fairly quiet, but I will not purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. They are obviously not of the same quality that they once were.

Built like something you would buy off Temu . Cheap accessories if you want to call drawers and shelves accessories. It does keep things cold ! Wow . Ice maker sounds like a pipe burst when it fills up. Embossed sides are nice ! So why not put on the doors as well . Scratches easily.

I only bought this refrigerator for the height --- all other units available without a special order would not fit under my kitchen cabinets, and I had to have a replacement for my side-by-side that stopped working, The temperatures outside was averaging 90+ degrees using ice in coolers to preserve food.

Terrible door latch

Good rating (5*) for ease of adjusting shelves, and temperature control. Door latch is POOR. Every time we open the door, it takes a different amount of pulling force. Sometimes the door will open easily with minimal pulling force. Other times we have to use both hands so we can pull hard enough to open the door. What can be done to make the door open easily and consistently?

Good refrigeration and freezing; poor interface.

We have liked our two previous Whirlpool refrigerators but would think seriously about another. This being the second model with a bottom freezer, we're disappointed. Unlike our last one (11 years old), this freezer drawer makes noise with EVERY opening because it's not on wheeled pull-out baskets. It squeaks when we open the drawer and when we pull out the baskets. The tech from the appliance store said it's a design flaw because there's nothing he can do to improve or quiet the performance.

LAST WHIRPOOL FOR ME

Hate this model. Ice maker didn't work when installed-had to replace it. Main capacity in frig is smaller as they include all the expanded door shelving . Freezer also smaller. This is my third Whirlpool refrigerator. MY LAST!!! They last 5 years and then considered unrepairable. SAD.

Looks nice but not the best

The first refrigerator that was delivered had numerous problems. Received 2nd fridge appearance is good if the refrigerator portion if set at the recommended 4 setting gets too hot goes up to 43 degerees . I have to put mine at the highest setting 0f 7 to ensure that it doesn't go above 40. When I called about it I was informed I could have someone look at it but it might cost me if they can't find the problem. The interior of the fridge is annoying since the shelves have a bracket in the center that limits the food that you can store there. The freezer drawer is slanted up in the back and is also a wire basket that makes it hard to store food . It doesn't have a separate butter compartment and if you use the small shelves on the door I needed to remove one so that items could fit.

This refrigerator feels very cheap. The vegetable drawers do not have a stop and fit very loosely, falling out whenever they are opened. The ice makers leaves curly plastic shavings in the ice. Poor quality.
