It’s a good refrigerator. But the gurgling noise is annoying

This refrigerator replaced its 2007 version of the same size. This model is an inch+ deeper, but otherwise about the same dimensions and cubic feet of storage. -So far the temperature in both compartments is well-regulated and consistent. -The fingerprint-resistant stainless finish is terrific! No smudges with daily use so far. -The freezer setting dial is in the freezer - previous had both controls in the same place in the fridge, making adjustments more convenient. -This meat/cheese drawer is disappointingly small. One plus - this one is movable from side to side. -The freezer door shelves' space between the guard and the bottom of the bin is too wide. Thinner items drop right through. I addressed this quickly and inexpensively by cutting a 20" x 9" piece of heavy duty perforated grippy shelf liner and creating a sling, affixing one end of the edge of the shelf guard and one end to the back of the door with painters' tape. Not the prettiest, but securely works like a dream and does not damage anything (see photo). -Freezer shelf is tempered glass and not wire, and is already bowing with "regular" amount of stored items. -Freezer shelf is lower than in previous model, so fewer items fit underneath and more items must be stored on top. For me, this reduced my overall storage capacity. -The mechanical hum has both an expected low-pitched sound, and an unexpected high-pitched sound. Both are quieter than the previous model, but it is challenging to get used to that high-pitched noise. One sound improvement - the auto defrost cycle no longer sounds like actively-dripping water. The freezer challenges and the high-pitched sound are enough to make me miss the old version. Otherwise, it is decent, fairly basic refrigerator and fits perfectly in my kitchen. Not many choices in this height/width without reducing freezer and overall capacity, and this is my best option to maximize storage space in the same footprint.

A “POOR DESIGN” with the storage on the freezer door. The shelf is not wide enough to keep the items from falling through, and that’s a BIG problem. As a matter of fact, I’ve removed the bottom rail and trying to restructure it so it will be more functional in retaining the foods from falling through.

Decent design

It’s a fine fridge. Like the side to side movable storage drawer. Don’t expect to move it often but is a nice feature when sitting it up. Don’t like: Freezer open in back for circulation. Block it and freezing is compromised Butter drawer on door has a bump on the back/middle that makes out difficult to store larger items Why do most fridges have to have the center height compromised that you can’t store the same sized things on the top shelf? Frustrating. NOISY compressor or something. All kinds of weird noises make me leery of how long this is going to last. Don’t regret the purchase. Just pointing out the dislikes.

I liked my old Kitchenaid better.

Whirlpool now owns Kitchenaid. I got a new fridge and in most respects it's fine. There are a couple of things I don't like. The drawers are flimsy plastic and the drawer where i used to keep my cheese has moved to the center of the fridge and is much smaller and shallower. The tallest items now have to go on the upper shelves, due to the configuration of the shelves, and I preferred to keep them on the bottom because it was coldest for milk and other beverages.

I rate this 4.5. This refrigerator-freezer meets my needs. I did not want a water/ice dispenser on the door and was happy to find this one. The size fits my space perfectly, it is roomy inside and not too noisy. The slats on the freezer door have gaps where small items will fall through. However, that is not a huge problem; I just use that area for larger items.

I bought this refrigerator a couple months ago. My previous refrigerator had worn seals so we bought this one because we trust whirlpool appliances. The new fridge works great. It a smaller size as I live in a small house. The only complaint I have, and the reason I give it a rating of 4 instead of 5, it makes some really strange loud noises. The refrigerator doesn’t have an icemaker, but the noises it makes I can only explain as it sounds at times like it’s producing ice.

Large freezer

This Whirlpool refrigerator has been a great choice for our family. We love everything about it.One of the special features is the spacious capacity. The door bins are wide enough to conviently hold all of our condiments,milk and juices. The humidity controlled crisper drawers really keep our produce fresher longer. The stainless steel exterior adds to the high end look of our kitchen. Most importantly it maintains the cold temperature.I would highly recommend this great refrigerator.

Well, overall this is a very nice fridge. And I would give it a 5 star except for one concern, that being the icemaker. Unlike my previous Kenmore/LG fridge, you cannot adjust the size of the cubes, and the cubes come out in a "string" versus each cube separately. It is not a huge deal, and of course I'll get used to it. Have to say, I do miss the filtered water for drinking and for the ice cubes like I had with the previous Fridge. I have a concern - which may be unfounded. The large glass shelves appear like they wouldn't take much to break - and what a mess that would be! Ok, on the positive side, I love the spaciousness of both the freezer and fridge. And the lighting is great, as are the shelves. For the money, this was a great buy, and I expect to get the usual reliability and longevity of a typical Whirlpool appliance!

Brand new Whirlpool

I've owned this Whirlpool refrigerator for about 1 week now. I hoping that the efficiency will reduce my electric bills. My 31 year old Amana was still working fine and still efficient electrically, but was starting to make some funny noises which worried me. The seal of this new fridge is very tight which is good. It has taken me awhile to adjust the temperatures of the fridge and freeze to what I want, since there are not really 2 separate dials, but I think that I have it now. Hope it lasts as long as my Amana did.

Just a good standard fridge

We had to get rid of our LG due to it’s icing problems in the freezer (apparently water pumps are notoriously bad in LG refrigerators). We opted to go with a top freezer. It seems to do the job and, after calling for maintenance, finally got the ice maker to work as it was installed improperly. I find this refrigerator to have less storage than our other fridge but we are adjusting.

This model does not come with leveling feet, just rollers!? You can easily hit your head on the freezer door handle when you bend over and get something out of the lower section. Both door handles are to close together preventing rubber bumper being placed on the bottom of freezer handle to lessen the blow of an impact. The light feature of the freezer is nice but it is large and in the middle front and gets in the way!? Door shelves need a better secure system. Other than that it works fine for the wife needs!!!

This is the best refrigerator I’ve ever had. Electricity went out for 3 days, and ice cubes were still ice cubes, and things in refrigerator were still cold. I didn’t loose anything. Ice cream was soft but still edible. I’m so happy with it.

Negatives: squeaky refrigerator door (something internal to fridge -- not the door hinges); miss second shelf in freezer; shelf supports in freezer appear to be pulling away from side wall; large gap at bottom of bins on freezer door allow items to fall through; and lighting in refrigerator section is marginal.

I got this as a replacement for the one that died after 5 days.. It is a refrigerator but I really wanted freezer on bottom but didn’t want to wait 3+ weeks to get one.. I have to get use to bending down to access frig and remembering low ceiling, hitting my head is almost s daily event.

I love the size and the way it looks. It did come with a few chips in the paint on the top right side, but they aren't too noticable. The refridgerator is great. The freezer only keeps ice cream soft frozen. I am concerned that this summer it will be a problem.

Great lighting, very quiet and very roomy refrige

I have had this refrigerator for a week and I can say I am pleased thus far. It is very quiet, the refrigerator part is a very good size and well lit. The freezer should be bigger to accommodate more frozen food. It is two inches smaller in height than my previous one and I can definitely tell the difference in the freezer. Also, my previous one had a pull out drawer in the freezer which was very helpful. I really like the lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer and I also like that I can put a magnet on the door and I don't have to worry about finger prints.

Nice top freezer refrigerator with LED lights in both freezer and refrigerator as well as clear compartments(can see what's inside the compartment). It's quiet compared to old refrigerator and the freezer is more spacious. Would be nice to have operating manual - as the fridge ran for many hours and we thought there was a problem - found info doing our own research that it's normal until fridge reaches specified temperature. Noticed on bottom back of fridge tends to be the coldest part of the fridge - again, that info was found via search vs. having an operating manual.

I really like my new Whirlpool refrigerator. It's very roomy and I love the layout. My only problem was that the handle broke off within the first two months around the screws where it's made of plastic. It was under warranty and they shipped me a new handle. It was easy to put on. Now, it's perfect!!

It’s an okay refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator in December and was delivered in January. Few things that I don’t like are it’s noisy and the door to the freezer doesn’t allow things to stay in unless they are tilted. If not things fall through. And the freezer has a mind of its own. Sometimes has frost over everything and then next time it’s all okay. It also continues to make knocking noises.

Solid no frills fridge, less to go wrong

This refrigerator replaced a similar Whirlpool fridge we had for 19 years. The shelves are one piece where the old fridge had split shelves and the freezer shelf is glass instead of wire so no rust stains on this one. One of the few reasonably priced top freezer refrigerators with a freezer light. I hope this one lasts for another 19 years.

Light inside the freezer

Basically it’s great it does make a noise kinda like a grinding noise but it does stop also I don’t know why they made the shelves on the freezer door so narrow that the things fall through my previous refrigerator was a Whirlpool and the shelves were nice and wide wide enough that nothing fell through but I know everything changes and I’ll get use to it.The thing I love about it because I never had one is the light in the freezer I feel like I’m in the supermarket lol.

Good basic fridge

We purchased this refrigerator because our old one died suddenly. We debated on whether or not to get a top freezer or bottom freezer. Since purchasing this fridge, we have discovered getting into the lower part of the refrigerator can be a bit taxing. Guess we were used to the old fridge (bottom freezer) and its ease of access. However, this fridge has a greater capacity and does an excellent job keep our food cold and our frozen items frozen. We would recommend this product to any who want to have a top freezer/fridge.

SS 33-inch top freezer refrigerator

This is basically identical to the Whirlpool refrigerator that I had for the past 20 years. I updated to SS and hope that this one will give me the years of service that I enjoyed with the previous Whirlpool. I was limited to a bigger size since it is installed in a custom cabinet that would not fit with the different sizes that have changed over the years.

Functional Frig with Flexible Storage

The unit is functioning, and the storage spaces are flexible. However, we have has some trouble adjusting the temperature. The ice cream in the freezer is a little soft while the lettuce in the frig is accumulating ice. We're still working on it. And the marketing of this refrigerator was somewhat deceptive. The color was described as "fingerprint resistant stainless steel." Yes, that's accurate, but only for the doors of the unit. The rest of the unit is finished in grey enamel. Would I recommend? I checked yes, but we'll see.

I have limited space for a refrigerator and this one fits my space to a "T'. I have 2 challenges tho that I would like Whirlpool to consider: 1. The meat tray should go across the entire section and not just in the middle even tho it slides. I was expecting more space for those products. 2. The shelves on the freezer door need to be enclosed so no frozen foods fall out from the bottom of them due to the open spaces. Can't tell you how frustrating this is!

Disappointed in that white residue shows where hinges are attached to the refrigerator. Also, it would be nice to have another smaller drawer inside for deli meats, it has one but they do not hold much in the way of items stored. I need more grey covers for closing holes on the outside.

Kind of seemed like we down sized on the features. Old Whirlpool had inside cold water feature. Told not offered any more in top freezer model. Doors do not seal with the dollar bill test now. Told by installer that is the way they are now. Hopefully still Energy Star Rated. Freezer frosts up even after adjusting humidity control. Always buy Whirlpool products. Pandemic seems to have lowered quality.

This refrigeraator is very simple, which I love. NOt a lot of extras. There is plenty of room for enything you'd need. It looks very nice in my kithen. Wasn't sure I'd like the stainless steel but I love it. I had trouble with the temperature setting at first but have graadually gotten used to where they need to be. The only objection is that it is too noisy when running. It is irritating. I had it looked at, but they said it's normal. I'll have to get used to it.

Basic fridge but it does the job!

We've had the fridge for about a month now, its just your basic fridge, nothing special about it but it works for us. Bought it to replace another fridge just like it that was over 25 years old and finally failed. It did stop cooling in the fridge portion after about two weeks but after prompt service from Whirlpool, it's working fine. It needed more chalking put in minor holes and gaps in the gaskets that were letting in too much air and causing the freeze to ice up. Per WP tech we let it defrost and restarted after he chalked it, working okay!

Excellent amount of storage space. Limited shelving configuration means a lot of stacking though. The freezer door tends to pop open when the fridge door is closed and it doesn't always re-close itself. Use a child lock to keep it closed. Curved front looks nice but means our large magnetic whiteboard doesn't stay without adding a huge offset to one side which looks weird, but that probably affects only a few people. All in all we like it with the caveats above.

It's a wonderful refrigerator that's very well thought out for storage. Looks good and performs very well. Little bit of noise once and awhile but nothing that interferes with a normal conversation. Much less noise than our 35 year old Kenmore refrigerator which you could hear in another room over the TV. Our Whirlpool refrigerator is wonderful. Perfect choice for us.

I just needed a typical freezer fridge. Nothing fancy. I love how the inside is set up though. Lots of room, and you can rearrange the shelving too. I had to reverse the swing on the doors. It wasn't too difficult, but the gasket didn't seal properly afterwards. I fixed it by running a heat gun along the gasket to soften it until it sealed.

Plenty of room inside this model. I love how much it will hold. However it’s not as quiet as the Kitchen Aid I had prior. I mean it’s not that bad just more than I’m used to. Also the door won’t close by itself—it swings open and won’t close automatically unless you shut it. I can’t get used to that. In addition, the bottom of the shelves on the side door of the freezer are too narrow as compared to the side bar that holds everything in. I have things slip through. They should have made it wider or one piece to keep things from falling through.

We've had this fridge for about 3 weeks now; so far, so good! We previously had a 26 cu. ft. fridge with an ice/water maker, and I was worried about getting a smaller cubic foot appliance. However, bc this unit doesn't have an ice/water maker, I don't miss the extra square footage - it still feels plenty big in both the fridge and the freezer section for all our food! My one issue is I wish the deli/cheese drawer was wider. We're in Wisconsin - we have a lot of cheese to store :)

I can buy any refrigerator I want . What I don't want is repair prone junk with all the bells and whistles . It is almost impossible to find a high rated refrigerator . Most of the latest tech has repair problems .OK ....Here is what I look for .....An appliance that sits there and does it's job without having to devote a lot of time to it , It does what it is supposed to do ...cools and freezes food consistently . Bottom Freezers almost all , have a bad relationship with that lower freezer . Side by sides in door icemakers leak , eject ice cubes, French door refrigerators top door problems. The above I don't want . In enters the old fashioned Top Freezer so many of us older people grew up with . They are the most dependable type of refrigerator made . My new one has a light in the Freezer and Fingerprint resistant Stainless Steel . Intuitive layout . Thank You Whirlpool

For a no frills option this refrigerator works. Our refrigerator broke and we were having trouble finding a refrigerator due to shipping delays and this was our only option. It’s decently quite and the storage capacity is good. One negative is what I call the lunch meat drawer is a bit small. Otherwise I don’t have any issues with it.

Had this refrigerator about 3 weeks now. It's avery nice refrigerator BUT, the bottom plastic bins need to be made of heavier gage plastic, they are very flimsy and hard to pull out and push in. It has plenty of room inside and the door shelves are great. I wish it came with an ice maker because I can't get one anywhere. Maybe some day. Over all I would recommend this, just get used to the drawers.

I am mostly satisfied with my refrigerator. One of the crisper drawers does not open easily. Also, I like having the freezer compartment light up. But the light bulb burned out about a month ago. I would buy another but they are expensive. When I store something not wide enough in the freezer door shelves they fall out. Too much of a gap, Other than those issues I like the refrigerator.

Have owned this fridge for about three weeks, so far so good. Runs quiet, roomy fridge, looks nice. Like having the light in freezer. One improvement would be for freezer door rails to be deeper to close the gap so items stay in place. I set control to a colder temp than the 'recommended' setting. Would like the deli drawer to be a bit larger.

This refrigerator has been working good for us. Good quality product. It has plenty of space to store all of our food. The door shelves are large enough to hold so many drinks & condiments. The light in the freezer section is helpful too. My only suggestion would be for a larger bin to hold cheese and lunchmeat. The one in it is too small.

Replaced a 24yr old same style frig with this one. Got to correct temperature in a short time so was able to transfer food rather quickly. Roomy interior and door. Two bottom produce baskets are not the same size, but not an issue. I like the LED lighting and clear shelving which enhances the interior look. Also the door shelves are wider than my old one. Fairly quiet in sound. Sliding drawer is a nice feature. Exterior front has a smooth glossy finish (not sides or top) which match nicely with modern dishwashers and stoves. Overall I am pleased, however only gave it 4 stars due to the freezer. Although roomy, the freezer shelf is not adjustable and appears to be bowing already. Will need to have the store repairman take a look at it. It is not due to excess weight as I have not overfilled it. Also the freezer door has 1 area of improvement very much needed. The door shelves are not enclosed on the bottom, causing smaller items to fall out. . Not a good design, but overall I am pleased based on size, operations and appearance.

I needed a replacement for my old whirlpool refrigerator. When I ordered this one I was afraid it would be smaller but it turned out it is the same size and exactly the same as my old one only better. The light is so bright in the freezer section. We never had a freezer light before. The crisper drawers have some additional features. The temperatures in both compartments are spot on. I am also happy I have the option of adding an ice maker. So happy I ordered this one.

I bought the refrige a month or so ago and so far - I am pleased with the purchase. It took us a couple of days to find the right temperatures. The storage capacity is actually larger than my old refrige (even though) this frige is smaller cubic feet. Only item I would change is racks in the freezer instead of a glass shelf. It would give more options for changing the configuration.

Noisy and the crisper drawers do not seal closed

I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago. It is very noisy and the crisper baskets do not seal closed. There is a full 1"+ gap in between the top of the drawer and the shelf above. A service person came out to look at it and said it looks and sounds fine to him. My parents have a similar Whirlpool fridge and the gap does not exist in their unit.

Mixed feelings about refrigerator

I have a love/hate relationship with this new refrigerator. I love the wide door and adjustable shelves inside the refrigerator section. I hate the door shelves in the freezer section. These shelves are half shelves (only 2 inches wide with a 2 inch wide gap to the bar across the front). These door shelves do not hold small containers and frozen vegetable bags; they fall through the gap. This is a poor engineering design. Otherwise, the freezer is spacious enough to hold my food.

This model is not how it appears on the Whirlpool website. While the interior photos are correct, the door is not. Instead of being a flat, textured door with a small Whirlpool logo in upper right-hand corner, the doors are curved and smooth, and the logo is much larger and right in the middle of the door. The doors’ smooth finish show all fingerprints and other markings. Finally, the designers added a lip on the top of the freezer door, presumably to hide the side hinges, but all that the lip does is make a notch when looking at it from the side, and it increases the overall height unnecessarily by about a half-inch. Frankly, it looks odd from the side. The website also shows photos of electronic controls, but the controls are simple dials that do NOT have markings (words) of warmer vs. cooler. The manual does not say what the little markings on the dial mean. You have to download the Quick Start guide to learn that the little dots represent snowflakes, and the more snowflakes, the colder the setting. They could have added words! The shelving is also different from what you see on the website. Instead of half shelves with brackets in the back, the shelves are full length and attached only at the sides. That makes them flimsier such that when you put any weight on the shelf, it bends and feels as though you might break it. Sadly, this refrigerator was to replace a former Whirlpool model I purchased in 1994 and finally started to fail. My old model had much stronger shelves, the controls were obviously labeled, the doors were textured, and it was not as loud when it cycled on.

The first fridge I bought in Sept. 2023 had problems from the start and by July 2024, it was determined to be a "lemon." A replacement was delivered on July 4, 2024 but was unacceptable because it has many dents all over it. The replacement for the replacement was delivered on July 16, 2024. I have now owned it for 7 days so the jury is still out on whether it will be problem-free.

I bought this in October of 2023. I love this refrigerator. More than any I have refrigerator I have ever had. But good luck getting service for it! They don't tell you when you buy it that you might have to pay up front and then get reimbursed. That is is you can find someone to service it. Hopefully get all of your money reimbursed. I also paid for a 5 year extended warranty. That was not mentioned about the service problem.

We bought this refrigerator about one month ago. Our old whirlpool refrigerator lasted 25+ years. This new one looks great. The light in the freezer is great. Wish the light was brighter in the fridge. I’m disappointed that the drawers are a very cheap plastic. There is a slide switch on the drawersfor moisture control but the drawers don’t fully close so it’s worthless. In the freezer the shelves in the door are too narrow with a space before the bar so everything falls out. Almost seems like this fridge is defective. You have to push the doors to close them. I know this refrigerator is not going to last more than a few years.

Lots of room and well lit

We've had it for one week and are having trouble with the temperature settings. When both the freezer and refrigerated compartments are set to "Recommended" the refrigerated compartment temperature drops into the 20s. After adjusting the refrigerated compartment closer to 2 snowflakes, the temperature ranges from the low 30s to the low 40s. It would be best if it would operate in the mid to upper 30s. Also, it runs a lot and there is a high pitched tone coming from the compressor. The noise level while it is running is too high.

Whirlpool replacement refrigerator (3rd one)

Bought this as a replacement…. Had a very specific height and width requirement and this fit although this was not my first choice, it just so happened that I only had to wait a few weeks rather than a few months which is what the GE model was taking to get. I feel like the fridge is much cheaper made than my old fridge that I bought 20+ years ago. It didn’t come with an ice maker (they’re all optional)… the door shelves are small, the vegetable drawers don’t pull out very easily. It’s noisy… I’m not happy with it but I guess it’s mine now.

I purchased this refrigerator last October. I have had to have the Relay Switch replaced 4 times, due to continuous clicking. I also had to have the Run Capacitor replaced once. Unfortunately, the Relay Switch continues to click all of the time. It is very annoying!

We got our refrigerator in July 2021. We kept getting an ice build up in the freezer and it took 3 service men to determine the problem. Then the light bulb in the freezer stopped working about 2 months ago. We have been trying to get a new bulb from the service dept at the store where we purchased the appliance, and so far no bulb to be seen.

Keeps Food Cold But.....

The positive to the refrigerator and freezer is it keeps food cold & love the lighting. Unfortunately the freezer door pops open when the refrigerator door is closed. That usually happens after a couple of years of use, not on a brand new unit. The shelves on the freezer door are not deep enough so whatever is put in the door storage falls through the gap. Ice cream can't be stored there because the freezer door pops open. Lastly, the textured outside of the fridge is great, wish the front had the texture instead of the shiny finish that shows off finger prints.

Bought this refrigerator about a month ago. keeps things cool. freezer section works very well. Problem I have with freezer is the glass shelf. If anything is the least bit moist it sticks to the shelf. Door shelves are terrible. I used to be able to put my frozen items like Stouffer or frozen boxes of vegetables there, now they just fall through. This refrigerator is basically the same model I had before. The other difference I found and an inconvience to me is the top of freezer door extends up over the top of the freezer. I used to be able to put small items on top of refrigerator, now I can't because they are behind that small extension so you can't just slide them off .

Como tenía un plan de protección con Home Depot enviaron varios técnicos y le llegaron a poner varias piezas pero el refrigerador actualmente continúa dando problema,s es un verdadero limón, no lo compren ,no vuelvo a comprar un producto Whirlpool.

Disappointed. Louder than my previous fridge which was 20 yrs.old. I have been tweaking the controls to get the proper temperature in both compartments and the thermostat just does not maintain the proper temperature. The room temp is pretty steady and the load of products in the fridge is constant. AND I wait 24 hours between setting changes. Quality control seems poor because they neglected to drill the holes where the top part of the fridge handle is supposed to be attached.

refrigerator is much louder than our old one. Not happy with the loudness when it is running. Also the seal on the right side of the refrigerator makes a scrubbing sound when open and closing. Refrigerator also makes a squeaking sound when the door opens and closes. It sounds like insulation is squeaking against plastic or something.

So disappointed. The two shelves on freezer door are only 1-1/2 inch wide followed by a 2 inch gap between shelve & rail! Totally useless. Everything just slips right through the 2 inch gap. It also cannot be leveled except for the front front. Every time I open or close the door, the entire fridge rocks. This constant rocking then causes the front to no longer be level. And beware if you're going to buy the black glossy fridge. The outside of the fridge is almost impossible to clean. You can only use warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth, and this makes it impossible to get rid of fingerprints, grease marks, etc.! You can't use windex or paper towel either. And it scratches so easy! Door was delivered with a few scratches. While it's a tad bigger than my last fridge, (had to cut down my cabinet for it to fit), the design causes it to fit less than my old fridge. I really miss my 36 yr old fridge. It held more while taking up less space, was cleaner @ 36 yrs old than the new fridge, was built sturdier, and came in beige.

Compressor stopped working 2 years in.

The compressor stopped working 2 years after purchase. First, it started freezing everything in the fridge or defrosting everything in the freezer. Then in a hot stretch of weather, it just didn't keep the freezer below freezing at all. I was shocked that warranty would not cover the machine not working after such a short period of time. The customer service could do nothing for me.

Doors don’t close, not as good as old one

I replaced my old whirlpool with this new one. Simply not as good. We tried leveling it several times, but the doors don’t close like my lid one. I’m disappointed.

Build up of frost in the freezer is very disappointing. Someone is coming over Friday to see what the problem is. My hope is that it will be easy to fix and if not I will be very disappointed in your appliance.

Died after 4 years

Piece of garbage broke after only 4 years. Bought it brand new. After 1 year the light in the freezer went out. Replaced it and it worked for a week and went out again. After 4 years it just stopped keeping everything cold and both the refrigerator and freezer went. Will never buy Whirlpool again! It says Made in Mexico on it.

Garbage

I hate this refrigerator! I have had it for two years, and it has been a nightmare. I came home today to find it well below freezing in the refrigerator compartment. It will not turn off!!!! Now what? For once the freezer is where it should be. The freezer has always been too warm. It was either that or have everything freeze in the refrigerator. I have made no changes lately, so why is it not turning off? Stay far away from this refrigerator and Whirlpool products.

Not what they used to be.

We have owned Whirlpool appliances since 1977. I am sure this fridge is making retired engineers, like myself, cringe. I have never seen a more spindly-made appliance. The bottom rollers are the size of a small spool of thread. The sheet metal on the fridge is exceedingly thin. The door creaks and groans like a haunted house. We called Whirlpool and they sent a Whirlpool approved repairman to investigate, but he gave us the brush-off and did not even bend over to investigate. We are going to haul this fridge to the curb.

Worst refrigerater ever!

The top drawer broke off, it sweats a lot hard to keep SS front shinny and dry. If anything touches the back it freezes. It is always wet and somehow i have to wipe off dead bugs off the bottom every morning. Maybe they come in thru the bottom? Very dissatisfied

Where did the quality go?

I would give it one star but it does keep things cold, too cold. everything freezes in the refrigerator unless you keep the setting a little below the lowest setting of one snowflake and it still runs almost constantly. The crisper bins are all open along the top to keep them from being of any use controlling the humidity. Nothing seems to be of quality and the freezer didn't even come with ice cube trays or even a space dedicated for ice cube trays.

Very loud when running

Do not buy this refrigerator if you want a quiet one. This is my fourth whirlpool refrigerator and is the loudest by far when running. You can hear it from 25 feet away. Tech came out and said this is pretty much normal for Whirlpool now. I like most everything else about the refrigerator. I will have to look at other brands next time. Bought 4/26/24.

I bought this 23 months ago. Yesterday the compressor stopped working. Any company that can not build a compressor that lasts at least 15 years should not be in business.

Disappointed

Delivery people will would not switch door swing. So now my refrigerator opens the wrong way and the handles are not installed. It doesn't matter if you've paid extra for it.

I totally regret buying this

I have had the refrigerator for almost 1 month. During this time, the freezer has never hit 0 degrees (FDA recommended temperature) and when it gets down to about 12 degrees, the food in the refrigerator starts to freeze (temperature on the bottom shelf drops below 32 degrees). If I make the refrigerator 40 degrees (the FDA recommend temperature), the freezer jump up to 20+ degrees. Had a warranty repair service call to replace the fan located in the freezer, but that did not do anything to improve the temperature issue.

too noisy

way too loud, it starts humming and then gets into a rattling noise as if something is grinding against something else. my previous whirlpool bought in 2005 did the same kind of noise before it died recently

Top freezer shelves a horror!

Top freezer door shelves terrible😕😕😕. Most everything falls thru bottom opening unless wide enough to hold. You can’t put ice cream boxes as they fall out!!! Asked at dealer, no help!!! Two shelves basically useless unless wide bottom. HELP!!!

Problems From Day 1

The refrigerator section temp never got below 31 degrees so some food froze and had to be thrown out. The ice maker made a few batches and then water started overflowing into freezer and refrigerator section. The appliance was installed by professionals from the retailer we purchased the appliance from. They are replacing the refrigerator.

Rust spots

It's okay things fall out through the space below the rails in the doors. Already has rust spots on the exterior. Doors are floppy, that is, I would like a little more resistance on the hinges such that the door is more likely to stay about where I place it a little longer... Not that they feel flimsy.

high hopes, early malfunctions

After lots of searching, we found this model and had high hopes. Structurally perfect fit for our needs. Unfortunately, within a few days condensation built up in fridge, ice developed in freezer and blocked the vents as well despite apparent good seal. After reading other reviews, seems we are not the only ones and will be requesting a replacement, then a refund if 2nd doesn't work either. Fridge is definitely louder than our previous 10yr old fridge, but we were willing to put up with it if no other issues.

5 months old and dead - no parts availible

Worked great for 4 months. Compressor started to get loud. Main board faulty. Whirlpool cannot get me a delivery time on parts to fix my fridge. So its like I'm living in the 1800's.

Don't recommend

The freezer has bars on the inside of the door but no shelves so the inside of the door cannot be used. The switch for the light is on the inside lower right side of the fridge is in a terrible location. Every time I try to get something off a lower shelf, I bump the switch and the light goes out! The exterior face of the refrigerator shows every single fingerprint. This fridge came with my manufactured home. Would never buy this fridge and will be replacing as soon as I can

The interior of this unit is so poorly designed I firmly believe it was done by a teenage intern. This refrigerator makes so many noises, it’s like having a farm animal in the kitchen. It makes so much noise that it actually overpowers the television in the living room.

Doors don’t stay closed

I have to duck tape my freezer door shut because it’s always popping open. Now my fridge door pops open. Pieces of the shelf inside have already cracked too. Also, the shelf in the bottom of the door keeps falling off, but it’s not packed with food so I’m not sure why that’s happening.

Puddles in the refrigerator

I purchased this in October of 2021. I like the set up of the inside and that you can adjust the shelves in the refrigerator or the bins on the door. The bins are nice and deep, so all those condiments and jars that typically get lost in the main unit can fit in the door. I did not install an ice maker, and was disappointed there is no additional shelf for ice cube trays. I started finding puddles of water on the top shelf of my refrigerator. I emptied the unit and unplugged it for a day, assuming I had a clog in the drain hole. I left it empty and within 2 hours of plugging it back in, I could see it dripping down once again from the freezer vents. The unit is still under warranty- so that is the next step. If this issue can be fixed, I would definitely recommend to a friend and give it a higher rating; as of now, no I would not.
