Great Fridge

It was delivered a week ago. It has lots of storage for the size. I bought it sight unseen except for a picture. My issue is that it doesn't have a kick plate and you can see the wheels and legs. So with that when they delivered and installed a shim was needed due to uneven floor. So now a block of wood along with the leg is visible and does not look great. So a kick plate would be great!!

Good size for a small refrigerator

Overall I would recommend this item. I downsized on my refrigerator and it's taking some time to adjust. I'm having to put my Brita water filter in the body instead of the door because the door shelves aren't big enough. The shelves in the door of the freezer are very narrow and there's a gap in them. I can still angle items to fit and not fall out but still it's weird they are like this.

Other than the long long wait for manufacture, the fridge is great. I do not like the freezer door shelves- they are open, and stuff falls out- our old Maytag had solid bottomed shelves that held ice packs and other small/thin items better.

It is a great update from our old refrigerator and trust that Whirlpool is a great brand. Our last refrigerator was a Whirlpool and lasted many years. We love the design and how it keeps our food and beverages fresh.

My old Whirlpool died after 23 years...basically replaced with identical model. Differences: Temperature is now a single setting rather than separate. The Vegetable bin "adjustments" for humidity are now fake. Though easily remedied. The door shelves are very deep now. Found small "dividers" to separate space to keep small things from sliding. The shelves are fridge-wide single shelves rather than split being able to make the 2 sides different. All in all, while obviously done to reduce cost of production, those things are workable--still a practical fridge

I like the refrigerator but I do not like the moveable hydrator. I see no reason why it has to move and it is so small that it’s hard to get my vegetables in. Also, I don’t like the open shelves in the freezer door. Things fall out of those.

Just what I wanted, no bells and whistles, proper temp top and bottom. Customer service understands the problems: In this weather, condensation. I have to keep a towel on the back of the top shelf to catch water, which freezes on the towel.. Might be partially due to other problem: the bottom part of the fridge door started coming loose and resisted any fix, and then the whole seal got loose, and then the freezer followed suite. No stress, they’ll fix.!

I like the refrigerator more than I did the side by side, as far as space. But it's really too soon to give an honest review of it because I just bought it, and haven't had it long enough to rate it. I hope it lasts as long as the previous one, as it came with the house when I bought it, and was well used, and I have been here for 26 years. So all I can say is so far so good.

So far, so good, although I've only been using my new Whirlpool refrigerator for 8 days. I like the size, compartments, and the larger freezer capacity. I am still getting used to the fact that the front door does not close automatically, as did my previous refrigerator (I have to remember not to leave it open!). I'm very happy to have found the color "biscuit", as it seems to have been discontinued by many refrigerator manufacturers!

Waited a long time before the bisque color was available. Has nice features. Space issues in an older farmhouse determined the style. My old fridge had bins for the ice cubes from the trays. Not everyone wants to hook up waterlines for ice. That would be my only concern. Ask me in 5 years if it is still working.

This is my first Whirlpool purchase & I admit I didn't expect much from all the hipe about the LED lighting but it is really nice, so easy to see. I love the clear shelves & bins. I wish it had a light in the freezer section, I do miss that. It does run a little loud like the one review indicated, but all in all I like it.

Because of the way my 1950's kitchen is designed I needed this size size to fill a limited space. The new Whirlpool fits perfectly as a replacement for my 22 year old one. I see only three things that would have caused me to make a different choice. The most obvious is that it has no freezer light. I now keep a headlamp next to the refrigerator to find things hidden in the back. 2nd: I find the push button 4 light temperature adjustment less useful than the 2 sliders in my old one. 3rd: the various plastic storage bins are a thin plastic that looks less durable than the bins in my previous one.

For the most part, we are very happy with this refrigerator. Functionally, it work perfectly and there is much more room than our previous one. So we are happy. The only issue is that the lower door hangs a little incorrectly. The gap between the freezer door and refrigerator door slants noticeably such that the handle side has a greater gap. Other than that, it is fine.

We purchased this refrigerator in November 2022. We had it delivered in April 2023 because of a tree falling on our house in July 2022. It is making very strange noises. It sounds like something is taking off and then stops. Sometimes when we get ice cream out of the freezer it is soft or has thawed and then has refrozen.

I bought a month ago. The first delivery was returned because of the noise from the fan. My current one is the exchange one. It runs great. I found one drawback which is the noise level is higher than I expected. The motor sound is normal, it stops when the temperature achieves the setting. Apart from the noise level, everything is good.

Good product and reasonable value. The top shelf isn’t quite wide enough and has to be centered PERFECTLY or it collapses with hardly any weight. Switching the door is NOT easy - you have to remove the front wheels which is even harder if the fridge is already installed. There’s no light in the freezer, which would be nice.

We live in a house built in 1959, so the kitchen is not very large. We just needed a small refrigerator since our old one pooped out. This was perfect: small but roomy inside, brightly lit, and no ice maker to break down. Door and hydrator bins are the perfect size.

New Fridge Works Well, Don’t Try Switching Handles

Everything works well, my only complaint would be the complexity of switching the handles. The hole covers were glued in so they only way to remove them was to poke a hole in them and pry them out which made them useless to replace on the other side. Instructions for this process could be more detailed to help ease the entire process.

We bought it to replace our old refrigerator which was over 20years old. We were not reconfiguring our kitchen, so we had to find one that would fit the measurements of the opening. It’s bigger and deeper than our old one. The LED lighting makes it easy to find what you’re looking for in the refrigerator. The shelves on the door accommodate more items. We bought it in the stainless finish to go with the stove and dishwasher. It looks great.

Reason for my future choices

our refrigerator of 37 years died and we replaced it with a well known brand. It works well but is noisy. It is in our kitchen and we can hear it in several adjoining rooms. About one month later of refrigerator of 50 plus years in our garage plus years died. We replaced it with a Whirlpool It works like a charm and it so quiet. Who but us would be faced with purchases of two refrigerators within a 30 day time frame. Both units were purchased because of size requirements. When we purchase any appliances in the future we will certainly check out Whirlpool brand first.

This refrigerator replaced another that stopped being cold. This one was damaged , fram was bent on the bottom and the seal around the door was cut on the bottom. I was expecting a new one to be delivered however hurricane Ian got in the way. It totally destroyed my house, my car and everything that was inside. The delivery is on hold.

Didn’t have a choice on the timing of this purchase. Freezer door needs better design to keep things from falling out the bottom space. Produce bins smaller than my previous unit. I recently retired and downsized into a much smaller house. We needed a new refrigerator. After a lot of shopping and looking we chose the Westinghouse 19 Cu Ft with a top freezer. All of our kids have moved out and we did not need a huge double door model with in-door ice and water or any of those deluxe features. This model was perfect for us. Plus, we think that it keeps vegetables fresh longer than our old refrigerator.

This is the right size to a small family. It does make noise but not very loud and I think it should be normal to a refrigerator. One thing can be improve is the stainless steel surface can make finger resistant, that will be wonderful. I have to keep wiping my finger print on the surface when I use the refrigerator.

Mid pandemic my 20 year old Whirlpool fridge died. The only option available because of the supply chain was a GE model ..after 1year and 2 months it stopped working. FYI unbeknownst to me manufactures warranties on fridges are now only for 1 year. I was so angry. This time I ordered a Whirlpool of much better quality even though I had to wait 3 weeks. I immediately bought a warranty. Learned a lesson here. Appalled at the one year warranty standards. Planned obsolescence is the new norm !!!

I had to replace my 20 year old fridge mid pandemic and because of supply chain issues I had to buy the only fridge available at the time, it was from GE. It died 1 year and a few months after purchase, FYI I was furious to find out that there are NOW only 1 year manufacture warranties on refrigerators unless you purchase an extended warranty. When choosing another fridge I went with Whirlpool, a trusted brand that had served me well in the past. I had to wait 3 weeks for shipment again because of the supply chain issue but am hoping that this Whirlpool lasts longer than a year. It is of much better quality than the GE. Needless to say I immediately bought an extended warranty.

Bought this as old one broke (also Whirlpool that lasted 19 yrs) and it was the only one available at local furniture store that sells your products. It is a great fridge, works awesome. The only thing is would consider is placement of the crisper drawers, they are way too low and changing placement of shelves, etc should be considered. Maybe focus group should with mix of elderly may help. Just my thoughts, but overall very satisfied.

The refrigerator is way nicer than what I had before, an old one that came with the house and had seen better days. It looks nice, it's pretty quiet, it cools well, and the refrigerator door customization is nice. There are a few things that I wish were different though. The freezer door shelves have gaps in between the bottom and the side, it won't allow for thin items since they'll just slide out. It'd be nice for the freezer to have a light, though it's not really needed. Overall it's a good fridge for the price.

Just recently I bought this as a "basic" refrigerator that had few frills and gadgets and would not flood my kitchen! Find I don't really use features like the ice maker or the water dispenser. It meets my expectations and is what I wanted. Too soon to know about durability, but there is less to go wrong in this one. Wish there was a built in thermometer and a light in the freezer area.

Worried for the future

Purchased 2 months ago Freezer light burnt out on day 3. Does not correspond to replacement instructions in book…different fixture. Fridge temperatures range overly broad, currently cools to 33 degrees minimum. Then warms to 46 degrees before compressor switches back on (too warm) using normal setting on thermostat . No thermostat knob for fine tuning…just four settings and this one is the best of the lot. The compressor whines a bit as it builds up to speed These are defects I won’t get into the design disagreements just now…there are many

Problems after startup.

3 hours after starting the Frig, the Evaporator Fan Motor started to make a loud humming noise. 2 days after startup, the Freezer section started to build up frost. Call Whirlpool and they sent out a Company to check the problems, the technician fixed the frost build by adjusting the doors. He could fix the loud EFM and will order one to be replaced. If the humming noise is fixed, then i would recommend to a friend. Also, this refrigerator doesn't have a light in the freezer section, wouldn't that be a normal feature?

A few minor issues but good overall

The top shelf is a little too narrow to nest well in the groove, falls down if not kept in the center. Hard to remove residue on top gap of freezer door. Can’t make ice maker work. Other than these issues it works well and was a good value.

The refrigerator is very nice however after its cycles off it makes a chortling noise for a long time. The other problem is that it arrived dented. I’m waiting to find out the outcome for the fix. However the sales person at AJ Madison was wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable and I very much appreciated that.

A couple flaws

I bought this a couple months ago. The first issue was it was delivered. The very first instruction in the instruction booklet states to remove plastic film BEFORE attaching the handles and doors. This step was skipped! I now have plastic all around my handles. I will need to unassemble the parts to remove and then reassemble. I am a female and not good at this stuff so it still remains. The other issue is there are 3 temp settings. The normal middle one did not make the food cold enough so I have to leave it at the highest setting which uses more energy to get the desired temp. All else seems to be fine. If I had it to do again I probably would not choose the stainless option as every print shows up on it

Ice maker is very slow compared to my older whirlpool, which is strange as it looks like the same design. Manual says to make freezer colder for faster ice, but then it is too cold in Fridge.

Grateful for the smaller size in Biscuit. Actual handles and it was a winner for us. Now why three stars? The top freezer door will not close on its' own. Yes, we have walked away and mercifully closed it before any problems. Dealer (Melrose Mass) said nothing they can do. Last reason, this is a small. no frills fridge and the price and quality proves it. Other than the freezer door it seems fine. On the big plus it is quiet!

I bought this over a month ago and have to have service here 3 times already. The first was to address an issue that the refrigerator part would not get cold enough to store food - issue was resolved as it was the door seal. Next two times was because the unit was making wierd noises. the second time the technician informed me I was too sensitive to noise and that new models of refrigerators make differnt noises then the older one. He added more insulation but the noise is still there. On a good note it keeps items at the appropriate temperatures now

I bought this about 10 days ago. It's different from my old GE. The freezer is definitely smaller than my old GE. Hopefully it helps with the electric bills, unlike the GE. This whirlpool isn't a quiet refrigerator. It's December and whenever I open the refrigerator door for stuff, it starts its run cycle and it vibrates. I keep my cilantro, mint and celery in tubs with a little water and a plastic breathable dome and find that the water in those little tubs freezes over at the bottom shelf rear. The controls are set as per recommendation.

1st refrigerator delivered had a bad bottom door seal and I sent it back. 2nd refrigerator delivered I had the door reversed to open on the right. When I opened the door it fell on the floor and it took me an hour to get it to stay on. The bottom door hinge was not installed properly. 3rd refrigerator seems to be working so far; but is a little noisy when it runs. I ordered the first refrigerator on July 14, 2023 and got the one I am using now on August 12, 2023.

Not my first choice

Not the first refrigerator of choice, could not preview in person. Had to have hinges switched for my kitchen layout. This every time I go to use refrigerator I brush by the light and turn it off. Also freezer door really has no tightness when opening, noticed condensation on top of refrigerator door and noticed bottom gasket of freezer has crystals of condensation. Installer coming next week to check. Found that freezer is so long top to bottom that I really have to stoop and reach into refrigerator thus hitting my head on freezer door- have to constantly be aware of this. Noted motor is not really quiet - my 25+ Gibson was quieter.

Great basic refrigerator/freezer

I wanted a basic fridge/freezer without the bells and whistles of many appliances today. This appliance is exactly that. I had to call for maintenance to come out within a day of having the fridge/freezer, and had to wait a week for him to come out due to my work schedule. Turns out that the gasket was not sealing, allowing warm air in, causing the freezer to frost heavily and the fridge to keep things only lukewarm. The repair man was knowledgeable and efficient, used heat on the gasket so it would seal. I would have obviously preferred the men who installed it to have noticed and fixed the issue right away.

This fridge keeps my food cold and my frozen food mostly frozen. The temp is not super stable. It sometimes goes up to 15/20 degrees in the freezer before dropping again back to 0. It can be noisy when it kicks on.

Like the white finish a lot! Love the brightness and clarity in the refrigerator and very spacious. Not really happy with the freezer design: storage on freezer door is almost impossible, glass shelf doesn't seem stable with weight on it. Upon delivery, the plastic protecting the outside surface of the doors could not be removed easily nor completely, with pieces of plastic still imbedded underneath the trim and visible. The unit makes a bit more noise than I'd like. Love the fridge section, not happy with the freezer or noise.

This is an okay basic refrigerator but don’t think I would have bought it if I had more time to shop and compare it to other brands. It’s been a while since I had to buy a refrigerator and it feels like the quality of appliances has really declined. We bought this for a cottage we recently purchased and just wanted something basic. The Whirlpool plant is near where we live so we felt confident in the brand. A couple complaints - the stainless constantly looks smudged and dirty, the temperature varies a lot within the refrigerator sections, and it feels like you really have to stoop down to get things out.

When refrigerator was delivered, cardboard box was in perfect condition. Upon opening the first thing you saw was the top right corner of the freezer was extremely dented, could barely open the door. My ??? how could this get past quality control? It had to be a major hit by a forklift or a disgruntled employee. Also temperature on low setting seems too cold.

I needed a smaller unit because my home is not big. That being said I wasn’t able to see this unit in person no sample at the store. It’s great outside however the freezer door shelves have a gap that allows items to fall thru when opening the door. You can’t put smaller items in the door. And there isn’t a light in the freezer! I’ve had the unit for two weeks and it’s already making a noise when it kicks on. Not worth the money I paid.

When we got it, there was an issue of clicking noise when open/close the door. We call Whirlpool and have the guy over to fix the problem under the warranty. He used the nail filing the get rid of excessive plastic part which i thought it was a very cheap fix and they could have just replace the imperfections part. However, we were let it go because it does the job. Two years after purchased, the fridge started to freeze everything. A week later, all my icecream in the freezer are melting and the meat started to thaw! Of course, the warranty is for a year! I have never seen refrigerators that works for two years!!! Very bad quality! Don't buy this. The Whirlpool Corp handle this situation very badly. They won't do the right thing for you.

Dents in edge of door and crease in back. Leans to the left. Only the front has levelers so there is no side to side leveling. I needed to reverse hinges to the left side. Now the door swings open on it's own hitting the wall. Refrigerator light switch is on the right side so it is easy to bump now. No light in freezer. My older / smaller refrigerator had one. Shelf retainer bars are to small leaving a huge gap at the bottom that items fall through. Unable to submit photos to this review.

I would never recommend this refrigerator at any price. To anyone, it's got multiple issues. It's got cheap handles which you have to put on the refrigerator self and broke within a year, as well as the shells are made out of either flimsy glass or plastic on the inside of their refrigerator and the freezer is absolutely useless, especially the door. The freezer door side retaining handles. Come out about 3 inches, with it wide open on the bottom of the shelves, so you can't put anything on the door without them. Falling through those retention handles onto the ground. So I've been unable to use the freezer door to store anything at all..

Fridge does its job, keep stuff cold and prolong life of perishable good but it is a poorly designed/low quality fridge. Why this is piece of crap? 1) Day 0 - After the night of delivery and install i go to open the fridge the sealing gasket starts to peel/fall off. Called & service guy comes out to glue to the gasket in place. 2) day 60+ into ownership - gasket falls off again, applied own glue to keep sealing gasket in place 3) day 367 - gasket falls off again, annoyed the crap out of me to call service again and warranty timed out. Also fridge started making metallic noise when compressor in the back is turned on.

I really hate this refrigerator. Because of space restrictions, we had to go with what we thought was the best 30-inch option. This refrigerator is cheap, cheap, cheap. The plastic is super thin and feels like it could break easily, the design is terrible - no thought to how people might actually use a fridge. It feels like the kind of refrigerator you'd find in a vacation rental or Air B&B - fine for a week, but to use daily in real life? It's terrible. And after replacing a GE that lasted almost 25 years, I feel like I'll be replacing this after, maybe, 5 years. Did I mention how cheaply made it is?

I am disappointed with this refrigerator. My last Whirlpool lasted 14 years and was a good product. I am limited in space and this model was the only one fitting my requirements. I am still having trouble getting it leveled, The ice maker isn’t aligned properly and the ice packs up in the back corner. This frig is loud! It moans and groans like an old lady. The freezer has no light so is dark. And according to the brochure that can with it it should have a front grill below the door which it did nit come with it.

I purchased this refrigerator in May 2020, and soon discovered that food freezes in the refrigerator compartment no matter where I put the food.... front, side or back. The problem seemed to be air circulation, so I put a small, battery operated fan in the back of the refrigerator section. That solved the problem, but if I forget to check the batteries, and the fan stops operating, the food freezes. Very disappointed in the quality of this product.

Poor temperature control

The temperature is difficult to adjust. Turning the temp in the refrigerator all the way to the coolest setting causes the freezer to warm and opening the vent in the freezer creates too warm a condition in the refrigerator. I have both set to there maximum cooling and the temperatures are barely in the safe zone.

I bought this in 2019 and today Refrigerator is not cooling. Food in the freezer got soft. The instruction manual said to set it to a colder setting. We did that and for a day refrigerator worked then again it stopped cooling. The refrigerator temperature fluctuates 35-40 and similar for a freezer. Why I have to do all these hassles when this refrigerator not even 5 years old. I will try to contact Whirlpool and see if they can help troubleshooting and fix this issue.

The first refrigerator I received had a big dent on the side . They did replace it all together it took me over a week and a half to receive my new refrigerator that's for both trips by that time my food had spoiled. And i was not aware that this refrigerator did not come with a light in the freezer. So I have to use a flashlight to be able to get some meat or fish from the back of the refrigerator. It also did not come with a grill or kick grill? But yet in the insert both items are listed?

In the meanwhile, I have ice buildup in my freezer and in my fridge raider, there’s all kinds of water dripping down onto my shelves I cannot wait to get this fixed. It’s very heartbreaking that you pay all this money for a new appliance and it’s just a mess right now.

Low quality and high repair cost

Purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. Fast forward, fridge started to freeze foods in the fridge. We changed settings - did not help. Called a repair person because the fridge is out of warranty. The repair cost for this fridge is higher then buying a new one. Evaporator, thermistor, control assembly and low on freon!!! How can this happen to 4 years old fridge? The quality is low and now I have to buy a new fridge! I will never buy Whirlpool again and will not recommend this brand to anyone.

Poor quality, design and function

No door seal whatsoever: frost on freezer items condensation in refrigerator. Poor shelf and door bin placement options. Loud when condenser runs. So unfortunate I had to replace my Kenmore refrigerator after 25 years. Certainly don’t expect this Whirlpool to last anywhere as long.

NOT old enough to STOP FREEZING & COOLING

I bought this a couple of years ago and the condenser fan motor has already been replaced. The back wall in the freezer has been getting iced over and stopped freezing my food.. wont go below 25 and the fridge wont get above 46. I am very disappointed in this product. What happened to good products that last. The sad part is.. when my delivery driver dropped this off.. I asked how good were these fridges and he said they are only made to last a couple of years and he was not lying!!!

Too soon

This one is replacement of the previous ( possible lemon or more damaged by a repair person ) same model. Previous on started having problems with frozen produce in the refrigerator within 6 months after the purchase. This refrigerator definitely had a problem with the cooling system. I cannot tell this new replacement one will be good, better, best, or worst at this point. Will update later

Gasket keeps coming off and support isn't helping

1 year old and broken for the 2nd time

I bought this refrigerator in Jan 2022. It stopped keeping cool 10 months later in November. I called Whirlpool because it was still under warranty and they had a local repair company come out and fix it. The repair was complete in the beginning of December 2022. The refrigerator broke again on 2/12 and is essentially a useless hunk of metal. When I called Whirlpool they said it's outside of warranty and they won't fix it, regardless of the fact that the original issue occurred inside of the warranty period. Don't waste your money on this company. I'm never buying whirlpool again.

Lack of decent instructions even on the internet

Almost impossible to get off the packing skids. No instructions for how to do this. (you have to tip it quite a ways to get in to use a socket to remove). Very poor instructions for switching doors to other side. It took 2 of us a full day to get it figured out and done. Once finished it is a fairly good lower price refrigerator. I would only recommend it if it was already off the skids and doors were switched. Much better instructions would be a real plus.
