This refrigerator has all of the space I need. I love the max ice function and I’m sure I will utilize it even more this Summer. It is a nice addition to my Kitchenaid kitchen.

Nice and big

Our last frig went down on a Sunday when everyone was closed next day went out a purchased this frig. We had a 22cu ft. And this one is so big I had to remove a 12” base cabinet and a wall cabinet to make it fit that’s ok because we were going to have a kitchen make over by the end of the year. Just sooner than planned. Wife just loves spacious room all around the crispers are large enough to hold 3 heads of lettuce and still have room for carrots celery the other side holds onions garlic other vegetables. I like the ease of the controls on the door. The best feature is the ice and water on the door it’s very convenient. Other reviews say that the ice maker is loud what do you expect when ice falls it’s going to make some noise. The way I look at it is if I don’t hear the ice maker then something is wrong all in all we are so far extremely pleased with the fridge. We have had other Kitchen Aid appliances before and had no issues with them.

Beautiful fridge

I absolutely LOVE this KitchenAid fridge. It is truly the fridge of my dreams! The design is gorgeous, it instantly elevated the entire look of my kitchen. It’s one of those appliances that makes you smile every time you walk into the room. The inside is just as beautiful as the outside. The layout is incredibly practical and functional, with thoughtful features that make organizing food so easy. Also is huge inside! Everything has its place, and it actually makes me want to keep my fridge neat. Honestly, it’s so stunning I almost don’t even want to use it! I just want to stand there and admire it! If you’re considering this fridge, do it. It’s worth every penny.

Beautiful and modern

We replaced our 20 year old fridge as it was starting to feel a bit old. We love the stainless steel finish, clean lines of the handles, and the gorgeous interior. The platinum, steel, and wood interior feels both modern and premium. The water dispenser is smart enough to track the ounces served, which h helps to avoid spills. It's about the same size as our old fridge, but it seems more spacious inside. We love it!

I love my new KitchenAid fridge quality is premium and I checked it it's assembled in USA only part that makes me think is the hum it makes when it kicks on hopely it's normal reminds me of the old school Kenmore. Overall the hum doesn't bother me as long as I get 9+ years out of it.

This model is my favorite. I had to replace my Whirpool because of issues with the ice maker and multiple service calls. I love the KitchenAid. However, my only complaint is the insignia plate that was out on in manufacturing was put on upside down. I could have it changed, but it has become quite the conversation piece in my kitchen.

Fridge is good, water dispenser aerates the water or something. I have tried new filters, and the same thing happens. So you when you fill a glass of water it does not look clear, after it sits for a min it goes clear. Disappointing since last fridge (LG) did not do this, and I bought this new kitchen Aid always hearing kitchen Aid was top of the line :(

We've never had a refrigerator with an ice maker and water dispenser. Our KitchenAid refrigerator has also provided us with ample room for freezer goods as well as normal refrigerated foods.

I have had this refrigerator/freezer for 3 weeks. So far I love it. I do have to figure out how to calculate the water ounces in the water dispenser because it is not accurate. Also be careful when unpacking . Follow the arrows while removing packaging tape. I removed my tape to quickly and it left residue and the arrows on my drawers trim.

Annoying ring, but great refrigerator

I had this installed in December 2025. I enjoy the space, glass shelves, lots of light, and the meat, cheese, and wine drawer can be used for prescriptions that must be in a refrigerator. It is easy to wipe clean. Unfortunately I do not like the fan restart being loud enough for me to hear… the reason is that when the fan starts it sounds like a phone is ringing (old land line ring). Basic fan sound is fine, but the telephone ring is annoying. The other thing that could be improved is the door storage. A gallon of milk fits one bin. If you have other items like juice, large lemon bottle, or family size items that normally would fit a door shelf, don’t count on them fitting in these door shelves. Of course configuration of other shelves in main refrigerator body can be adaptable, which makes door storage design less bothersome.. but be ready to adapt to that strategy. Freezer is easy to keep organized and pizza holder is very nice. The water dispenser and ice are a bit picky regarding where to push. Right now our measurement button for self fill container is not accurate, but if you pay attention the automatic dispenser is very convenient. Since the doors are not soft close, it has an alarm to tell you they are open. I like that. Overall I really like the refrigerator, it would have got 5 stars if it didn’t have an annoying phone ring.

Great, again

I had a very similar model purchased 2-3 years ago. We liked it so much, when we sold our home, we wanted to take it with us. However, our buyer wanted it and was willing to pay for us it, almost what we paid for it. When I found out I could get one just like it and for just a little more than I sold it, we sold it and had a new one sent to our new home - and still love it!!! Unfortunately it had a couple of dents in it and we received a discount.

We brought another KitchenAid because our old one lasted 22 years. Only had to get a new ice maker. The ice capacity in the old KitchenAid was about three times larger and bigger cubes. The freezer you have to stack food products on where my old one had steel baskets that pulled in and out easy to separate different items.

We've only had this refrigerator about a month now but so far, so good. We bought this to replace a Kenmore refrigerator that failed after about 7 years and was too expensive to fix. The Kenmore was a really nice refrigerator but this is definitely an upgrade from that. All of the kids are now out of the house and this is the perfect refrigerator for two people who like to cook (and have leftovers). The interior is very classy and it has all the conveniences that we need. All-in-all, a great purchase!.

I bought this a month ago and I really like it. My only complaint is that the top doors are not even one door is higher than the other. When I mentioned to the installer he said it was because it has floating hinges on the doors. I am going to call where I houghtvitcand make them come back out and look at it.

We're so happy we did as this refrigerator, and the other appliances we chose, have exceeded our expectations. Hopefully they are as durable as they are good looking. I wish I could give this 5 stars and it's close but 2 things during the holidays when I was cooking for a crowd and had to open my door with the icecube storage more than normal my ice cubes started sticking together. The other thing is that there is no egg tray. I kept the one from my old frig but I found that odd. I love how the water doesn't taste like my faucet water and I can actually keep track of how much water I am drinking that is cool. I would say buy it definately just those 2 things I noticed.

Over size and capacity and love the interior and finishes. I wish the ice and water dispensers were not so sloppy. It took a long time to cool the fridge and freezer down so plan on a good 24 hour transition before putting food in. I do wish there was a butter dispenser and that the two large bins were larger compared to the wide bin for cold cuts etc. the control panel for future and options is a clumsy and confusing design. I wish there was a temperature display for fridge and freezer.

Our refrigerator died two days before Thanksgiving, so we go to the one place in town that we know has a great selection of refrigerators in stock. This is the one the sales rep showed us first and I loved it immediately. We bought it and it was delivered and installed within four hours of purchase! I know that's the store and not the fridge, but this refrigerator is very spacious with easily adjustable shelves to manage any size item you might have. Love it so much we went back two days later and bought a Kitchenaid induction stovetop and microwave to go with this beautiful refrigerator!

We bought this in April and installed in a new home in August after delays. We like the use and features. It has a pump noise that is loud enough to hear in the whole house at night. It happens during the day as well but less noticeable with all the kid running around.

Good refrigerator, however, some defrosting issues around the freezer door and fridge doors. Watch out for water buildup. Have to constantly wipe it down. Cool functions as the "Measure Fill". But its a fridge like any other fridges out there.

Good, but with a flaw here and there. The freezer drawer doesn't slide as smoothly as I expected. The shelves aren't as accommodating, and the temp is 38.5 degrees up top and -4 degrees in the freezer. Trying to adjust it is beyond me. Buttons do something but I'm not sure what.

I really love this refrigerator!! It’s nice looking and the interior is laid out very well and has nice features. I love the feed to the ice maker. It fills evenly so I’m not having to reach in and level the ice out to get a full bucket. My old refrigerator completely died so I didn’t have a lot of time to research this brand until after I purchased it. But so far i haven’t experienced any of the negative issues in some of the reviews.

This is only an initial review based on the features. To date I am generally satisfied with this model. Shelves are convenient and flexible in their positioning. The sliding tray shelf is convenient. Was initially concerned about the convenience of a bottom pull out freezer compartment but soon found it to be easy to use. The sliding freezer drawer is a nice feature. My one complaint is that the meat/cheese/wine drawer should be two individual drawers, sans the wine feature. That way you would not, necessarily, need to open both doors to get to that drawer. Might make it a little more energy efficient. As I stated above, I am initially satisfied with this refrigerator, Finally, I am unable at this time to comment on reliability. My previous Maytag refrigerator lasted 20 years without needing service, and I am hoping that Kitchenaid will prove equally reliable.

It was a floor model and the ice maker has never worked. The heating element which keeps the water line from freezing over totally melted and the water line was clogged. We replaced both and it’s working well. The ice maker may have been left on while the frig was on the floor.

We are very happy with our new KitchenAid refrigerator. There are a lot of extra features we didn't know we needed until we had them. The pull-out shelf is great for making it easier to access the back of the shelf. Being able to store tall items by sliding back a half-shelf is very nice. And the frozen pizza compartment in the freezer door plus the small trays really help us better organize the whole freezer. The platinum interior is really nice as well.

After studying normal operation, the only time it does click, is after drawing chilled water, or when it is re-charging the ice maker. The refrigerator looks great and we really welcomed the extra space of a full depth refrigerator. I am disappointed (didn’t realize before purchasing) that the door does not have an audible “door not closed”alarm. we’ve already had an issue with this. The other issues are - water drips down the front of the door by the water dispenser, - the wheels are not on the ground and you have to lift the refrigerator up and change the leveling fee in order to get the wheels to work.

This is such an upgrade for us. It seems well designed and it holds all the difficult items we had a challenge with before. A lot fits in this fridge! It also seems like it distributes the temp evenly. Love the stainless appearance that magnets actually stick to. I only have two complaints but they will cost a star. First, the compressor motor is very noisy and there's a constant clicking noise coming from the top section of the fridge. Second, there's no way to tell which lever is for ice or water. That seems like a simple thing to screw up but we have a lot of company and it makes a mess when you expect one thing and get another. Come on really? You can't label them?

The tray system underneath the water/ice dispenser is not the best... overflow water must be dried not only from the visible tray beneath the metallic grid, but that catch tray must also be removed and dried because it leaks into the second area. We also wish there was a butter/dairy compartment in the door, and nothing like that is available... we miss that feature. Other than these 2 things, we are very happy with the appliance.

Almost everything on this refrigerator is as I expect. My only issue is that the doors swing open with a great deal of velocity and force. The door will stop openiing when it reaches its stop but the door slams into the door stop with a great deal of force. This happens when the door inner shelves are full (typically liquids). I'm concerned about how well the doors will hold up over the long term.

We love this fridge/freezer! The black stainless is smudge free and after having the refrigerator for almost a month, I haven't had to clean a fingerprint off of it. The interior design is great, no wasted space in the fridge to accommodate the in-door water/ice dispense. The only thing I dislike about the freezer is the narrower divider pockets in each freezer bin. I've looked but there is no way to remove them without breaking them which I don't want to do. For us, that's wasted space since we have nothing that narrow to put in them.

Our old unit gave out after 20 years and we searched Kitchenaid because we had recently installed a Kitchenaid dishwasher and was very pleased. The new refrigerator is very nice. It has easy double door access, adjustable glass shelves, a slide out tray, 2 vegetable drawers and a meat keeper. We love the water & ice dispenser on the door, especially the measured fill feature. We never have used a bottom freezer and had concerns that it may not be a user friendly as our old side by side, but we were wrong. Lots of storage space and great features like a pizza holder. This fridge is not only beautiful but very functional.

Great fridge but a bit noisy without explaination

Had this guy about 2 months. Seems rhe fridge temp control needs roo be adjusted frequently due to freezing produce/milk (initially set to 37 as recommended) but depends on the "fullness" of your fridge so all good there. It does make a strange "midnight booty call" sound after you open/close the doors. I chalk it up to it just re acclaimating and maybe skme pressure sensors but its sorta loud and weird. Seen other comments about this on various platforms but no actual answer or reason from "KitchenAid". Its loud when rhe waywr drains into the jce compartment and loud when it drops the ice. Basically a lot of weird lod noises from this fridge but seems to be great so far. We love the bigger ice capacity.

Great unit except for the ringing.

Lots of likes - gray interior is attractive and kind on eyes - pull out shelf is short on the pullout but works. The issue we have is the lite telephone ring that periodically occurs. The unit is quite except for the ringing that occurs after the doors are opened. Great unit except for the ringing.

So Much Space

For a family of 7, this is perfect size. We always have room and everything is easily accessible. Our last Kitchenaid lasted 18 years and I am so thrilled with the functionality and size of this model. Everything is so easy to clean and it holds so much.

I finally had to break down and buy a new refrigerator. I knew I wanted one very similar to what I had. This Kitchen Aid really fit the bill. Lots of space inside the fridge and the freezer. A coating that discourages fingerprints and separate ice and water levers. I couldn’t be more pleased. Don’t hesitate to buy this product

Mostly love it

This fridge is replacing a fairly new one that had a lot of problems. So far, I like this Kitchen Aid much better than my previous brand. However, I would like to say that the old one seemed to have more room. Also, I do not like the pull-out platter holder thingy. All it does is take up room and has a lip that stuff has to be lifted over. That shelf area is for milk, orange juice and large bowls, etc. not serving platters. And it can't be removed. So far, the ice maker is wonderful. I don't like the push back shelf. It seems less stable and is uneven and it is not needed. It also seems harder to reposition than the other shelves. This fridge makes several mysterious noises. They really aren't noises I mind too much and except for one of them they aren't loud, but I wish I knew what each one is caused by. Overall, I am quite happy with this fridge and hope to continue being happy.

Design flaw interferes with a great product.

Spacious refrigerator, great features but condensation accumulates in the upper seal around the freezer drawer, leaving water in the grooves of the gasket. Apparently this is a long time issue with this design- it sounds like they could stop it from happening by using a better seal around the drawer. It's a great refrigerator other than that.

My only thing is I hear a telephone ringing noise after I have had the fridge door open for a bit and then upon closing it there is a definite noise like a telephone ringing!!! I thought I was hearing things but my husband hears it too. Very strange.....

Bought 4/30/25 and basically happy until 1 week ago. Deli drawer will not stay closed and water accumulating on top gasket by top of freezer. Also condensation on top where ice maker is. We called for service they were here today and corrected drawer issue by raising the front of fridge! Other parts on order.

Finish peeling

I've had this refrigerator for about 3 years. I just noticed what looked like Rust on the front of the ice dispenser. When I tried to clean it, a plastic film started to peel off. I read that smudge resistant stainless steel has a protective film that can get moisture under it and start to peel. Apparently, that remedy is to replace the door. This is the door that contains the ice, water and controls. I haven't priced it yet but im sure it's not worth it to replace. I paid top dollar for this refrigerator 3 years ago and as soon as my warranty lapsed this started.

This is our second KitchenAid refrigerator we’ve bought within 2 years. I’m wondering if we should have bought it. We’ve had it several weeks and it’s already making strange noises. Also, there is condensation on the top of the freezer drawer…just like the one before. I’m constantly wiping water from it. The first one’s compressor went out after 1 1/2 years. This time we bought an extended warranty.

Good and Bad

We have had the refrigerator for a couple of months and we love everything about it except it has significant condensation on the top seal of the freezer and we are worried that it will cause mold to form over time. We returned the first refrigerator for the same reason and now it is happening on the second refrigerator. We think it is a design flaw.

Not working as expected

I bought two of these refrigerators for our new home because I had one in our last home and loved it. I have already had to have one of them serviced due to condensation collecting on the seal to the freezer. Kitchenaid told the repair man to block off 3/4 of the vent in back of the fridge as this is a known issue. I still have condensation and will have to call the repair man again. The fridge is lovely but I really hate having to wipe that puddle of water up every day, it should be fixed properly. I have a feeling we bought a lemon this time.

Detail on the drawer construction

We have 3 other KitchenAid appliances and love them. The drawers are plastic, and don’t insert easily and don’t align well. The ice maker is noisy vs our previous LG unit. The ice machine is also slow to fill the bin vs our previous unit. We like the look and the brushed finish on the doors.

I have had it for 6 months and have 2 issues I'm not very happy about; the ice maker is extremely noisy, so we keep it turned off. This isn't an issue for us because we don't like our drinks cold. The other is the way the doors slam open and rattle everything in them. It can't be good on the hinges. Also, if we have someone over and have to turn the ice maker on, it is slow to make ice.

A little noisy

The new fridge and freezer work well, but I have a couple quibbles. The compressor sound is nice and quiet, but there are constant creaking and popping noises, which is annoying. The other thing is the water from the dispenser tastes a bit weird. It goes away after running a glass full of water. Hard to know if it’s the filter or tubing. Hopefully that goes away over time.

Good but temp is fluctuating

I got this KitchenAid fridge about a month ago it seems to be doing good. I do notice that the measured ounces of water is not calculating correctly and when using a fridge thermometer to check the temperature - the temp seems to be fluctuating between 32° and 39° in the fridge. I keep medication in mine and need a constant 36° temp which I set the electronic temperature at 36° but I am worried the medication may get spoiled. I have used 2 different Rand new thermometers and both have given the same readings which is not 36°. I will try another gauge and see how that works. Other than that so far I am pleased with the fridge

It is much smaller than the Samsung I had previously and tall objects only fit if the half shelf is used taking away other valuable space. It also is very noisy and sounds like a phone is ringing every time the door shuts. It was a lot more expensive than the Samsung and is not worth it.

Doors not so great

This is a Good refrigerator. I like the lights in the interior and the sliding shelf that comes out. Thinks I don’t like about it. Are they way the ice and water dispensers work a little awkward and you have to press pretty hard for them to begin. And one thing that really bothers me about it is that the left door doesn’t shut unless you shut it first it won’t shut without being slammed so a lot of times I will close the doors and the left door will be slightly a jar and so of course it’s wasting energy if it gets left like that. There is a small quiet alarm that goes off, but it takes a while for the start and it only goes up once or twice.

Pretty, but water can leak into the door

This fridge looks pretty inside and out. The interior is a pleasure. I was not sure about the sliding shelf since it only moves a couple of inches, but it is enough to better see and access snacks on that shelf. On the down side, the drip tray under the water dispenser is not well designed. It fills up fast if you spill a little water, but worse, it seeps into the door because there is not a seal between the drip tray and the door. Imagine spilling a little water. Then, after you drain the drip tray and clean up, you still have water dripping down the front of the door from under the drip tray and more water dripping out the bottom of the door. Its a real pain in the butt.

I'm trying the Kitchen Aid cause my LG failed after 2 years and my Samdong failed after 3 years. And they play you when you request a warranty . So again, ask me in three years. Issues within 1st year of owning it

When it comes to the actual refrigerator and layout, we love it. Unfortunately we had to have ours replaced within the first couple months of buying it because there was a lot of condensation forming on the Seal of the freezer drawer. Then 11 months after owning the replacement the compressor went and had to be replaced. Now since the compressor was replaced the freezer is not cooling like it should be and our ice machine is not producing more than one batch of ice a day. Just had a service guy out and now he's going to come back next Thursday to check the compressor to see if it's working correctly. There should not be this many problems with a refrigerator that is now just over a year old.

I called the store I purchased it from and they sent out a repair person and he thought it was the ice maker so they switched it out. The sounds are still happening.

Freezer door gasket issue

Purchased and immediately had condensation freezer door gasket. Repairman sent out every month to try to fix for 5 months. Door was also replaced but still an issue. Fridge was replaced under warranty and new one was worse than the first one. They wanted to start process over. I said no and asked to skip directly to door replacement. Door replaced and it works fine. This has been going on since new, for 8 months. Finally resolved.

Not What We Expected

Purchased July 1. For us it is a complicated appliance to get used to. The left door does not self close so you have to double check that it is closed tight. The door open warning is not loud enough. We don't like to have to open both doors to get in to the drawer. The shelves sliding out is convenient. We would probably not have purchased it if we knew what we knew now. It is a refrigerator. It does what it is supposed to do. It is not user friendly.

freezer gasket issue

I bought this a month ago and there's an issue with moisture build-up on the top of the gasket to the freezer drawer. Had one service after a week of the fridge being in our home. The issue is better but has not gone away. Second service coming up. Does not bode well for longevity of the appliance and happiness with it.

I HATE the fact that the doors swing wide open. I had a tech come out to Try and fix it but they say that the way they come. I have seen another show models of KitchenAid and other brands that do not swing out like that. So I’m very disappointed in it. It lets out unnecessary cold air. I hope that they can send somebody out to fix this problem.

Good product, WAY too many emails

So far we like our refridgerator, how see ver the amount of emails that i am getting DAILY is absolute rediculous and reason i did not give 4 stars. To cancel emails had to go to website....all i wanted was a nice fridge NOT clooging my space with hey buy more, here we have a sale, act now and get 20% off....enough please. And ofcourse to be able to send this for no one in management to ever see, you have to enter...your email address! We do like our refridge though and would look at Kitchen Aid if and when that time comes.

Not the same KitchenAid

KitchenAid is not the company of old. Things are very cheaply made not the quality of old. The refrigerator came with a door aligning tool. You would think this would be done at the factory or by the company delivering the unit. Will most likely be looking at other manufactures in the future. Very disappointed!! I'm sure this will not be posted.

Worked okay for a few days before I had a problem

I purchased this refrigerator 3 weeks ago. The delivery crew was great and took extra car to place mats on both my hardwood and tile floors to avoid damaging them. They installed the water line and gave me a quick tutorial on how to run the control pad functions. After only a few days, I noticed water buildup on the top of the freezer door gasket. I wiped it off and it continued to form every day and I was concerned about mold/mildew forming. I contacted Kitchenaid and they arranged for a repair technician to visit but the earliest appointment was 10 days out. Fortunately this defect did not require immediate repair (such as loss of food due to low temp). The repair visit is still several days away so I don’t have a cause diagnosis yet for why the water is forming and I’m hoping whatever parts that may be needed to repair the problem are readily available. Otherwise it will require me to schedule another visit for the repair. Each repair visit will require me to adjust my schedule to be home as I am the only person in the household. I did not expect to run into a repair need so early for a Kitchenaid product! After I get the diagnosis and repair estimate I will update this review to reflect how simple or difficult it was to get the problem resolved.

Nice features and looks, but noisy

We bought this to replace our LG refrigerator that was a similar style and failed after 13 years. We got this mainly because we recently upgraded our other appliances with KitchenAid. We like the styling and the features such as measured fill for the water are nice and convenient. Also, the ice maker is superior to the LG with the fast fill and crush features. The problem with this fridge is it is NOISY. Much louder than the LG it replaces, and it is distracting at times. Its not a constant noise, just when it kicks into a high cooling mode (I assume). The noise is the only reason I am rating this a 3.

Stay away

KitchenAid is over priced and shouldn’t be considered a quality brand. For our new home We bought the entire kitchen as kitchen aid and this was the biggest regret of our build. These appliances should be the lowest priced, as all we’ve had is issues with them. The refrig ice maker never worked properly and has been replaced twice. The freezer drawer gaskets are screwed up and we routinely end up with wasted product from freezer burn or thawed product. Plastic flimsy Freezer drawers both broke in first 6 months If you lose power it doesn’t turn back on, expect to have to reset hopefully not losing all your food. Also found times we didn’t lose power and it shut off anyways. Stay away from this brand. We have the similar unmitigated issues with the other kitchen aid appliances. Joke with everyone that comes over is they are named correctly. They always need some sort of aid to work properly.

The refrigerator is good at cooling but is poorly designed. The drawers in the main section keep rolling out if the doors are open. This keeps the doors not close without effort. Also, the door keeps hitting the drawers.

Bad quality, KitchenAid not able to fix it.

Worst design for water and ice maker. Getting condensate on the freezer door every time and ice melts and drips in the underneath the catch tray on the door. When it gets full, it leaks down the door on the floor. Gave KitchenAid 4 chances to fix and technician come first time replaced the ice maker. Worked for about a month and started leaking again. Came 3 more times wiped everything and said that it is normal because the ice box is open and when we open the door, warm air hits the ice, and it melts. So, he told me that I need to dump the ice when it gets full and wipe the leaks. I called again and today they are coming out for the 5th time to check and fix the issue. My warranty ends in 8 days, and I have a feeling I'll be stuck with this junk.

Don’t Buy Kitchenaid Refrigerators!

I wish that I could give this refrigerator 0 stars. My house is a new build in a new development. Our house was completed in 2017 and the older model of this refrigerator was included as an upgraded package. We’ve had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. We kept having the issue with the frost build up near the freezer. The repair man came to our house so many times he finally told us it wasn’t worth it to keep repairing the refrigerator. All the issues damaged our hardwood floors and we lost time and money with replacing food and waiting for repair men and parts. We decided to buy the new model of this refrigerator because we wanted our appliances to match and after just over a year, the refrigerator is not working. We believe that it’s a control panel issue. Kitchenaid is disgraceful to make products that they know have problems. My mother-in-law has the same refrigerator for over 20 years and Kitchenaid can’t make one that lasts over a year and especially for all the money they cost!

If I could give it 0 stars I would . Broke within 6 months of owning it, replaced control panel, sealed system , compressor and motors and my fridge has been 80 degrees for 2 weeks and my freezer is at 30 degrees. Customer service is HORRIBLE they offer no solutions or take any accountability .

The freezer needs more light, lots more. Grey is not the best choice inside. The tray in the refrigerator cannot be removed and takes up about 3 1/2" of space for bottles. Poor design.

Bad design: ice and water in refrigerator door

We bought this fridge new a month ago. It started leaking water through the ice dispenser within a few days. The water runs down the face of the door onto the freezer drawer then onto the floor. The ice in the ice bin melts because it sits inside the refrigerator compartment (not the freezer), then gravity takes over. The appliance store says it is a bad design by Kitchenaid and there is no way to fix it. Without being fixed, I expect it will soon rust, look horrible, and fail. We are tremendously disappointed in both Kitchenaid and the appliance store, which knowingly sold us this defective major-cost appliance.

Not standing up to its name.

I bought a KitchenAid for My new house almost 6 years ago. We did not have the frig for very long maybe a year and the mother board went out. I replaced two different boards because that is what I was told to do. However it fixed one problem but not the other. The light does not work all the time, it comes on randomly and chimes for no reason. All doors are shut good and it will still chime. I have to pull it out from the wall and let it set for a little bit before that stops and/or lock it and unlock it. On top of my ice maker stopped working. It has been the worst refrigerator I have ever had. I agree with several reviews about this frig. IT is way over priced and way under quality!! No photo to add. I am embarrassed that I even thought that this was a good product.

I understood by purchasing a Kithchen Aid I was purchasing "top of the line". This repair is expected to take up to three weeks! Not Happy at all!

4 1/2 months old, already have problem

I received this referigator August 19, 2025. There is water on the seal on top of freezer drawer. I had to spend some time learning if the store would help me or if I needed to contact someone via service contract. The vendor called me and explained the condensation is building and needs additional pary. Im sad, I never had a new refrigerator before and now I need repair parts and having to take time off work to meet service man. One of the phone numbers I called tried to sell me another service contract.

Refrigerator Panel Rusting after 1 year

This fridge has a major design flaw with the water dispenser. The way it's design causes water to get trapped underneath the tray. After 1 year, this issue caused the stainless steel front panel to rust. Unacceptable for an appliance, especially from Kitchenaid.

Rusting front panel

This review follows another 1 star rating for a rusting front door. We have had the unit for 15 months. The front door is rusting at the lower corners of the ice/water dispenser. Rust in the middle of the door. Funny thing is that Kitchenaid is not aware of the issue. I started by reaching out to Kitchenaid on Facebook. Ultimately, all I got was the information to place a service call and that it was out of warranty. We called customer service and after a half hour delay that was “longer than usual because of training” we spoke with Stephen who dutifully repeated the party line of the one year warranty but also pointed out that this was a “cosmetic” issue that was only covered for 30 days. Clearly, any decision here was beyond his authority. We asked to be referred to a supervisor. Todd called us back. He asked if we had tried cleaning it. We did. Any more would just make the spot shiny. Todd then also repeated the term of the warranty and 30 days on the cosmetics. Stephen at least researched the Facebook messenger exchange. Todd did not. This was literally the most expensive refrigerator at Lowe’s when we bought it. We have multiple KitchenAid appliances. Clearly, quality is no longer something KitchenAid stands behind. Perhaps if they invested in the product quality they would have fewer issues that would require training staff up on the corporate line. This KitchenAid is not an investment. There are clearly design and manufacturing issues at play.

Horrible. This refrigerator had to be replaced before it was 1 year old. The replacement didn’t last 6 months. I sat on hold for 2 hours only to have someone tell me they’d reach back out in 3 business days to discuss next steps. An absolute joke.

I am very disappointed in Kitchen Aid. We have purchased them before and have been happy with them. This refrigerator is not user friendly. Ours can not be leveled as there are no levelers in the rear of the refrigerator and also it is not easily moved out to clean behind it.

Multiple problems

Purchased just over a year ago had to have a tech out several times for excessive condensation on the freezer drawer. The ice maker quit working I was able to fix the issue by unplugging and plugging back in the fridge but the issues has now reappeared and I can’t get the problem fixed. We bought 4 new Kitchenaid appliances and have had a line of service techs through the house for all the issues. Now that the fridge is past the warranty period I’m having to fix the issue myself or pay for a technician from what I read online on other reviews this is a common issue with this icemaker.

Builder put this in a new house we bought. I am going to replace it. The freezer gasket always has water in the channels from condensation and the appliance store he bought it from came out and all he did was put some silicone on it. Useless. Still has a lot of water accumulating. I don’t want it dripping on my flooring. Shouldn’t have to wipe it with paper towels every day.

I purchased this very expensive refrigerator hoping for a quality product. I was very wrong. Wouldn't make ice from day one. Repairman replaced the icemaker and water valve. Still no ice and it now leaks water. Ice maker doesn't work even after being replaced. Water leaks from ceiling of fridge. Parts have been ordered again. I feel this is going to be an ongoing issue for the duration of a refrigerator that cost more than my first car.

Extremely Disappointed - needs SECOND repair!!

We bought this KitchenAid refrigerator just over 18 months ago, thinking it would be a reliable investment. Instead, the compressor failed barely 12 months in. KitchenAid It’s incredibly frustrating to spend this much on an appliance, only to deal with ongoing failures and delays in service. A refrigerator should be dependable, not something you’re constantly worried will break down. arranged the repair (we still had to pay the diagnostic fee) and it took a month and a half before the unit was working again. Thankfully, we had a backup fridge in the basement, or it would have been a complete disaster. Now, only two months after the repair, we’re experiencing the *same exact issues* again. KitchenAid is sending a service tech, but once more, we’re being asked to pay another diagnostic fee—despite this being a repeat problem. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend this much on an appliance, only to deal with ongoing failures and delays in service. A refrigerator should be dependable, not something you’re constantly worried will break down.

Also the fan in the fridge has condensation all around it, and it's leaking so much that there is a puddle of water. I'm really not happy with the product.

Not so happy new owner!

Cold water from our 20 year old refrigerator was much colder than new KA water. If you 1/2 fill a glass with ice cubes and add water, the water will dissolve most of the ice. Food at the back of the refrigerator sometimes freezes food, even if not touching the rear wall. Ice crystals in boiled egg, not tasty! We are a small family. I can't imagine how this would serve a large family. Owners manual does not include a Customer Service phone number or e-mail

Lights go out constantly. Hard to adjust doors so they close or do not swing wide open hard! The ice maker dispenser is a joke. At times it will whirl away and not dispense ice. Terrible. We currently buy bag ice for freezer. Lights biggest problem. Replaced various at least 6 times. Warranty is way too short for an item such as this!

Not What We Expected

My husband and I recently purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator less than a month ago, and unfortunately, we have been extremely disappointed with our experience thus far. As loyal customers who own multiple KitchenAid appliances, we trusted the brand’s reputation when making this purchase. However, the refrigerator has consistently produced a loud, disruptive noise since installation. To address the issue, we have already had a technician visit twice. During the most recent service call, the technician replaced a fan but admitted he did not believe this would resolve the problem, and indeed, the noise persists. When I called today to follow up, I was informed that yet another service visit is required, this time involving a "master tech" for further diagnosis. Given that this issue has been ongoing for nearly three weeks without resolution, we are growing increasingly frustrated with the process. As customers who invested in a premium appliance, we expected better performance and more efficient service. At this point, we would like to explore all available options to resolve this matter promptly, whether through repair or replacement.

I purchased this refrigerator one year ago and at six months old the compressor died, spoiling all my food. Once that was fixed the icer maker died. It has never been fixed correctly. There has been condensation on the freezer door that they can't seem to fix. To date, they have been out TEN times to fix it and refuse to replace it. It's an expensive piece of junk. I will never purchase Kitchenaid again.
