Beautiful white counter-depth side-by-side

I love this refrigerator. I was so happy to find a white side-by-side that was counter depth. It matches my other appliances and makes my kitchen feel brighter and bigger. The alarm that sounds if a door is left open too long is very helpful. The interior is well-lit. There was a freezer shelf missing but Whirlpool was great to send one to me. I do wish there was a compartment specifically for butter in the top of the door. I was surprised that this fridge didn’t have that feature. I also like having the ice maker in the door and not taking up a shelf inside.

door icemaker and water dispensers

The freezer is missing two shelves. The temperature is great in both sides. icemaker works. I have read about the wiring being in the bottom of the door and breaks over time from openin and closing the door and my icemaker will stop working. The price was right and I bought it.

Advised to buy Whirlpool

Was told by my repairman to buy whirlpool due to cost of parts from competitors. Good product. A little louder and smaller than my LG but hope it lasts much longer than 8 years. So far so good.

One design flaw

I like my whirlpool fridge.The one thing I 'm not happy about is the visible cold water supply coil inside the fridge behind the first veggie drawer held together with zip ties. I can evision a food spill and the cleaning mess. POOR design.

It's brightly lit inside, making food items easy to find and sort. Temperatures are spot on. Ice making is quick. We weren't accustomed to the noises you hear at first, but after ice is made and temperatures are reached, it's quiet! We like the look of the finish, although the steel skin on the freezer door appears warped (photo). The only major beef is inside -- both the freezer compartment and refrigerator door CRY for just one more shelf!

This is the same refrigerator I purchased before Helene flooded my house. I was so happy it was in stock. This fridge is quiet and the shelving is perfect. The best feature is the ice maker in the door which gives lots of room in the shelves for frozen items. My space for this fridge has to be exact and it fits the bill. Whirlpool has my vote this fridge and all their appliances.

I bought this to replace a 20 year old cabinet depth built in refrigerator. I was very worried that it would not fit into the opening but it did and I actually like it better than my old one. It holds so much on the door and the drawers open very easily. The freezer holds more than my old one. It is very bright inside and the doors open easily.

Refrigerator

My refrigerator was included in the new home package. I love the style, the easy cleaning of the exterior, and it goes very good with my other Whirpool kitchen appliances. I had to read the manual to see if the temperature control was set up correctly because it is geting humidity between the 2 doors, and is also freezing the liquids and the eggs. But it was at the correct temperature and I was not blocking the Air Flo sensor. I registered my appliances so I am just a phone call away of fixing this problem.

Have owned this for 7 months. Satisfactory performance. I COULD have been fine with fewer features on the ice/water filter dispenser; takes a bit to learn to operate! But I had to get a model like this to fit the enclosed space in my kitchen. The only thing I truly don't like is the low number of shelves supplied for the freezer unit. I need at least one more, and am finding it hard to locate the part on the website. Also, if one does not use the ice dispenser often, it WILL freeze up and takes some effort to dismantle and unfreeze it .. learned the hard way.

I replaced the side-by-side with a different brand French Door fridge and disliked it from the start. It lasted about the same amount of time. But now I went back to this side-by-side. This counter depth refrigerator fits nicely in the galley kitchen in my mid-century house. It works beautifully and we love the measured fill feature. The only complaint is even after running over 6 gallons of water through the filter it still tastes very metallic.

I bought this whirlpool refrigerator in the shiny black to match my other appliances. I struggled not knowing if I would like it or if it would fit into my counter depth space. I previously had a GE that lasted almost 30 years. I love my beautiful, new black, fridge and all the space inside and on the door! The reason for the four stars is the freezer. My previous fridge had much more space. The one drawer does not hold much at all. The shelves don’t seem to be as deep either so they don’t hold much. Another thing is it does make a noticeable noise that I don’t think it should have, but overall so far so good.

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator side by side because we have had them before and haven’t had any problems with the whirlpool brand appliances. This one replace our old Whirlpool side by side that we had for 20 years. We had the old one since hurricane Katrina. I won’t buy any other brand of refrigerator except Whirlpool.

So far I’m very satisfied with this fridge. I love the counter depth, it’s amazing how this little feature seems like it added so much space to our kitchen. We bought a side by side because we definitely did not want a drawer freezer where stuff would be piled on top of each other, and are very happy with our choice. It is just me and my wife in our home and I’ve had no problem stocking two weeks of groceries with room to spare. The interior lighting is really good. Ice maker and water dispenser seem to work really well so far. The only reason I deducted a star is for some small things such as exposed plastic pieces on the base look cheep and poorly designed, also one side of our unit is exposed and the sides are not the same material as the face, which seems like easy things to do better. While we would’ve preferred the black color option we didn’t want to pay the 600 extra just for that but the stainless is decent and neutral enough. I have also noticed that the motor seems to hum louder than our old fridge. But all in all very happy!

We've had this product for about a month. Overall it seem well built. Not so finger print free. The shelves are very thin. We use glass containers and it is nerve racking tot say the least. Not enough shelving in the freezer. It has space for another, but not included. Ice production is slow, and volume is small. It is set to factory recommended specs at the moment. We had another product that had a small volume, but the production was very quick. Finally. Some reviews mentioned a sound from a fan. It seems to be the circulating fan. I arrived at this when I stopped hearing it, but it started again once I had briefly opened the door. I believed it to be preference. NO. It is loud. I have hearing loss and it is pronounced with out assistance. At times I tune it out, but it is there. Frankly. I would not purchase and place this in a High Traffic area.

Noisy

Our previous Whirlpool refrigerator was 15 years old and was starting to have problems. We researched and decided on Whirlpool again so we bought a model WRS571CIHW04. We were very pleased with the way it fit the space and the way it was working. Our only discomfort at this time is the noise it makes. When the compressor kicks in, it is very noisy, and runs for a long time. Visitors have even noted the sound. I note in the buyers remarks in the internet, that this is a glaring problem. Is there no fix for the problem?

I bought this frig 2 weeks ago. So far like it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the frig door had to be lowered about 1/4 inch to be level with the freezer door. Also 1of door handles was loose.

Overall, I like this refrigerator quite a bit. It is a replacement for the equivalent Kitchenaid model that unfortunately went out at only 8 years (due to out of stock ice maker parts). Like the improved ice dispenser that funnels the ice. Most of the other features are similar to the Kitchenaid. I would like an additional shelf for the freezer. It also needs a hinged door tray for the refrigerator. We scavenged one from the Kitchenaid. We like the counter depth, that fits better in the kitchen layout. I had an older Maytag refrigerator that lasted over 15 years. Hope this one can approach that!

I miss the wire shelves of days gone by. When solid shelves are used, they must stop short of going all the way to the back to allow/sides for air circulation, so valuable shelf space is lost. A new refrigerator is like any new appliance, auto, computer or house - for better or worse, some things are different, and one needs to adjust to the new. You never get 100% of exactly what you want. I would like a slightly smaller ice dispenser opening. We have wide-mouth glasses, but you must get that lined up perfectly or you will have small ice pieces on the floor (and we use cube setting exclusively). I like the clear ice cube bin - open the freezer door and instantly see how much ice is there. We have had this almost 6 months and no problems so far. More than adequate ice production, freezer side and frig are both cooling properly. Milk keeps exceptionally well and that's my measuring stick for the frig. I read reviews before purchasing and was concerned about some negative comments regarding the noise of the unit. However, the 11+ year old LG this replaced, for years had sounded like a jet engine parked in my kitchen, so I figured it couldn't be much worse! Indeed, it's much, much quieter.

I purchased this fridge online and now I wish I would've seen it in person. It's a good-looking fridge, and at least I got the right size. I did have a concern with the ice maker, I didn't think it would make enough, and I was wrong about that. It makes more than enough ice for us. The fridge works like it's supposed to. It's hard for me to make a change from my old fridge which I was used to and liked. The shelves are the problem with the space. I wish the freezer had 1 more shelf, and the fridge, the shelving just doesn't work for me. It's just awkward and I've had it for a month. For me, I wish I chose differently, not completely happy with it. Because of the price, I'm stuck with it until it stops working.

I searched for the missing freezer shelfs but realized it didn't come with more than 3 slides. There seems to be plenty of space to fit 2 more shelfs. It would keep me from having to stack items.

Refrigerator was delivered 2/6/2025 without issue. The unit is very nice and seems like a quality product. It is louder than our 2017 Kenmore Elite/LG that recently failed. There are warnings that the refrigerator will run more often that older refrigerators. We have definitely found this to be true from what we have seen so far which makes the noisy operation even more obvious.

This was an emergency replacement for my Kitchenaide. Looks beautiful on the outside. Would have likes the egg holder on the door and a more than one pull out baskets in the freezer. Water/ice dispenser is taking getting used to. Kitchenaide was more sensitive to touch. Biggest issue is controlling the refrigerator temperature. Milk and juice froze. Raised the default temp by 1 degree. A can of seltzer froze and burst. Raised it another degree. Still too cold but no freezing.

Door Dispenser Issue

Overall I like the refrigerator. Ice production is good. However, the door dispenser for ice is less than stellar. I have only owned the refrigerator for a couple of weeks and I have had to completely remove the ice bin, remove all the collected ice, and clear the dispenser. Twice. Pausing ice dispensing, and restarting dispensing, seems to cause the problem. This should not happen. The door on the refrigerator side sags slightly and is not even with the freezer door. (Two days later) The ice dispenser just jammed again for the 3rd time in less than a month of ownership. It jams when trying to dispense crushed ice. Again, I had to remove the bin, dump the ice, and clear the dispenser. This is getting annoying. Is anyone at Whirlpool reading the reviews?

This refrigerator is a replacement under warranty. So far it's almost 1000% better than the one that was replaced. The only negative is that it runs louder than other refrigerators we have owned. The freezer should come with 2 additional shelves, which were later provided, but forgot to remove them at the time of the exchange.

Our new home came with one and I notice it seems to be always running and with water running to it & ice noises it can be distracting. Other than that it keeps temperatures at their proper settings. The only thing to do now is figure out the way to clean under the refrigerator.

Water issues/ Lack of freezer shelves

This frig came with our new house. Frome the outset, water did not come through to the ice maker/ door dispenser (yes, the water line was connected). A tech came out and replaced a valve, but there was a pinhole in the line, spewing water. The line was replaced, but it still didn't work. 2 days later, another tech came to fix it...he was very good! Tested everything along the water path and found a different valve that was inoperative and replaced it. Finally seems to be functioning properly!!! Third time was a charm! Unfortunately, the freezer has brackets for shelving, but doesn't actually have very many shelves.

We took delivery of this appliance a week ago and I’m amazed at how loud it is. It runs constantly except when one of the doors is open. It also has too few shelves in the freezer and too few door racks in the fridge. . I will need to order one more of each. We replaced a French foot refrigerator with a side by side but the black stainless on this unit fingerprints terribly and I am a slave to a microfiber cloth to keep it looking good.

Bought after researching counter depth models for my application. Selected Whirlpool based on basically 3 things: 1) research results (Internet, family, and friends), 2) features, 3) availability from an "appliance " store. Wanted firstly a "reliable" refrigerator, secondly one that was not difficult to maintain. So far, it has functioned flawlessly and is acceptably quiet. Fulfills the base expectations I was looking for. Irksome things: 1) refrigerator door shelves can't be arranged anyway you want. You don't find this out until you try to customize to your preferences. The protrusions that the shelves attach to are apparently two different depths...not so you can put any shelf in any location. 2) the plastic light cover in the freezer looks "askew"...like it was an after thought and used a cover that would almost work from another model. Also, it is suppose to be secured to the body via male tabs into female slots...not only is the width too short for the male tabs to fit deep enough to seat the lock ridge, but it "will NOT" stay secured. 3) Cold water tubing just kind of lays coiled up leaning in the back of the refrigerator...no issue, just looks "cheap".

I have noticed so far that it's much noisyier than my last Electrolux. Another problem is the bright incandescent light inside that blinds me at night when I open it. We purchased this refrigerator because we wanted water and ice in the door. We love the lighting in the door and the changeable settings. The ice maker is quite a bit louder than we anticipated. You give up storage space to have a side by side and we knew that. We live in Florida and like ice in our drinks. It has a hard time keeping up at times.

Some frustrations

Have had the refridgerator for a month. The water dispenser is great, the shelves in the door are laid out nicely, but the shelf spacing in the freezer feels awkward to me. We've had a lot of trouble with items on the top shelf freezing- we work hard to keep everything away from the sides, but still run into freezing troubles. This fridge is sufficient, but not my favorite.

Shaky start with this appliance

Bought a home with this appliance. Having an issue with water dispenser. I changed the filter, no difference . I then tried unplugging it in case the lines were frozen. Water still comes out slow and erratic. I will be calling for service, but everything else seems to be fine.

Nice Appearance, But Loud

My wife and I are happy with the appearance and the fingerprint resistant stainless steel. However, this refrigerator/freezer is awfully loud, it has a constant hum and the side door ice ejector unit whirrs like it's crushing ice when it's not. You also now immediately when the pump is filling the ice molds, as it's loud as well. There is also a lack of shelving in the freezer unit, and when investigating, it appears that Whirlpool expects owners to stack freezer items. On a positive note, the construction of the drawers make for easy cleaning. It's humming as I type this. Model: WRS571CIHZ

Light bulb covers take up 1/4 of shelf space!?

We bought this refrigerator to replace our previous Amana after 39 years (a great refrigerator and excellent design). Our current Whirlpool is OK, however, it looks like Whirlpool stripped it down. Freezer section looks like at least three of the shelves were removed, most likely for the purpose of Whirlpool "cost reduction". We bought the refrigerator because it fit in our current kitchen cabinet space. After the installation, we found that the internal refrigerator temperature is not at all accurate set at 37 degrees F. There is no specific place available to store eggs. They froze solid on the second shelf from the top of refrigerator. After measuring the temperature on the various points throughout the refrigerator the temperature ranged below 32 degrees to 41 degrees. Refrigerator internal temperature set at 37 degrees.

Unit is often loud while cooling. Unit seems like it’s made for cheap rental apartments. Ex: light bulb sticks out on upper shelf, loosing valuable space. Another part is behind a drawer so drawer space significantly reduced.

Refrigerator is almost identical to the one we replaced. One notable exception is that the new appliance has an irritating high pitch noise when it is running. I plan to schedule a service call on it soon. HI had hopes that after it ran a few weeks the noise would stop but it hasn't.

The refridgerator is loud. There is a loud, high pitched humming noise. It seems to never turn off. It is freezing the food in the refridgerator. Service manuel said this was "normal" and not to store food near the air vents. This leaves very little space to put food in the fridge.

Kind of loud but otherwise I like it

I bought this about a month ago, and it was the only one I could find that would fit the space exactly. But I trust the Whirlpool brand for kitchen appliances. The fridge seems very spacious and I like the fact that it has an air filter rather than using stupid boxes of baking soda all the time. The unit works fine. My only two complaints are that it is kind of noisy - not sure if that's the compressor, or the air filter, or both. But it seems to make a noise all the time, which I am not used to yet. Also I think the freezer capacity is kind of small. I have had to buy small plastic baskets to put in because there is only one drawer, so shelves do not really hold things securely. Other than that I am satisfied.

This refrigerator, being counter-depth, contains less than I'm used to. My storage bins are too long. But that's not why I give this appliance only three stars. It's the noise level from the ice maker. We even hear it over the surround sound system when watching movies and football. It's very distracting in an open concept home.

Good fridge, bad water filter

We love the size, look and design of the refrigerator, but the water filter does not lock in place and pops out every time you dispense water or the ice tray fills itself. Someone is coming to look at it and hopefully that will fix the issue, but it is a frustrating feature. Every other water filter in a fridge screws in, no sure why this one doesn’t.

The freeezer could use the extra shelves which seem to be left out. The water and ice dispenser levers are difficult to depress. The color and finish are very good.

Noisy / Hard Pass

Replaced a Whirlpool 10+yr old unit needing a new compressor. The refrigerator section still worked great but the freezer was no longer freezing. In fact it worked so well I never gave it a thought until it didn’t. Just quietly went on its working way without a bother. Not this model. It’s noisy and runs all the time. You never forget your refrigerator is now running this kitchen. The good ole days of my refrigerator just quietly keeping my food cold has been replaced with a bully. If it was a low cost model sure I’d get what I paid for, but this model cost much more than even larger Whirlpool models. The rare moment it stops making noise I reminisce what it was like before, just peaceful. Maybe it will breakdown under warranty and I can get a different model.

Noisy ice maker

We got this refrigerator because of the counter width and it fit perfectly. We are very disappointed in the noise of the ice maker, it's so loud that we can here it all over our house when it fills up, don't know if this is normal or not? It is great a d quiet if you never use the ice maker, but we do like ice.It does a great job keeping things at the correct temp, however we have had some freezing issues in the refrigerator by the air filter..but we just moved things around. We feel the lighting choices take up alot of storage space but again we are learning to adapt.

Cool water feature

This refrigerator was included with the purchase of my new home. I’m not crazy with side-by-side refrigerators because freezer storage doesn’t accommodate larger items such as a turkey or frozen pizza. The cover to the inside light won’t stay connected at one end. And I would like one more shelf. However, it cools nicely, makes an adequate amount of ice and a feature that surprised me is the water dispenser counts the ounces! That’s nice!

This Fridge is OK

We have had this refrigerator for a few weeks. Pros: for the size it seems to hold a decent amount of food. It is well lit. Ice and water dispenser is good. Cons: The motor hum is fairly loud (this is a big one). The manual and online help is poor. I can't seem to be able to remove the bins for cleaning.

Dissatisfied with Space Limitations in this Model

I had this new refrigerator/freezer installed on 13 December. The freezer seems to be missing a shelf and both the fridge and the freezer have drawers with angled backs which cut considerable into the storage space. I don't see why the design was made this way. I am not pleased with the available storage in this model.

Bright interior, clunky ice maker

It's okay. It's an updated model of the one we had previously, needed that exact size to fit the opening. I do like the brightness of the interior. The freezer holds much less than the old model. The ice maker is clunky and slow (waiting for it to break, they always do, last one broke twice in first year). It rolls VERY EASILY on its wheels (old one did not), say when the dog leans against it. What can I say - it's a frig.

When they came he said it was too much work and would not repair it. When I called again after the two hour hold she said she can’t help me and gave another number to call.

The Single Worst Appliance I Have Ever Owned

This refrigerator sporadically just stops cooling the freezer. You can hear the compressor running, so you don't think anything is wrong, but then you see a puddle form underneath it from all your ice and frozen foods melting. You'll open it up, and find all of your frozen food is room temperature. The water lines freeze 2-3 times per week for days at a time, and if you unknowingly try to use a water dispenser that's frozen, it just spills water all over your refrigerator interior and all over your food. Best part? When you actually are able to get a Whirlpool tech to your house to check it out, they say "can't find anything wrong with it, are you sure the doors are closed?"

Worst fridge ever

We bought this model just under a year ago and initially had to have two service calls. It is the loudest, noisiest fridge we have ever had over the last 60 years (4 previous units). It is even noisier when the icemaker runs exclusive of the ice dropping into the container. Even though we rarely have the freezer door open, the ice freezes solid and my wife has to use a small hammer to get a few cubes because the dispenser won’t work when the cubes are frozen together. Worst fridge ever. Had to order extra shelves as standard ones are not that useful.

Very noisy motor that hardly turns off!

I bought this refrigerator last month and I am not happy with it at all because the motor is very loud and it seems to never turn off. I would say that it's on for about 80% of the time. Don't bother. Large capacity, cools and makes ice. Door handles already broke and doors didn't line up correctly from the start. The tiny little star screws that hold the handles on come loose very easily and when opening the door, the handle will pull off instead. You'll need to find the perfect size screws to have on hand - good luck! Whirlpool's quality is pitiful these days, I won't be buying again in the future.

Ice maker wiring breaks, can't repair

Same issues that other reviewers have commented on. Extremely poor shelf space in freezer. The ice maker wiring design is awful, as the wiring is located at a stress point at the bottom of the freezer door. The wiring breaks easily and is impossible to repair. The repair person who came to check out the problem said it is better to buy a whole new door at the cost of close to 1K, or to just buy a new fridge. VERY DISPLEASED.

Too small and narrow

Not my favorite refrigerator. We have this product because it was in our new home as a package. The light cover in the freezer falls off, my eggs froze in the container on a shelf in the fridge, and the pump to make ice is loudly noticeable. I am unsure how I am going to fit meal preparation for the holidays.

The only service rep in this area is a stain on the Whirlpool name. I explained to the company the first and second times that the unit made 2 seperate loud noises, The tech was here 3 times, once to say it was the circulation fan, it took a week to come in. He replaced the fan and shortly after he left, I noticed that the compressor was very loud and not working. They were supposed to send the tech that day. They closed for the weekend and we lost all our freezer food. Today the same tech came out and said it was the compressor and can not come back for 2 more weeks (Sept 4). I asked him to leave! Unacceptable! What is also unacceptable is that your product after just 3 months needs to have a circulation fan and a compressor replaced! Also unacceptable is there is only one repair company in our area and no one really cares how long a couple in there 80s goes without a refrigerator / freezer.

Regret purchasing. The panel is failing from day one. Would auto-lock us out of getting water or ice and non-responsive when trying to unlock or sometimes the keypad just goes haywire and starts to countdown to open then doesn’t. Finally had someone come out and they will be replacing the board.

The Refrigerator is a big disappointment, within 3 months of purchase the ice maker would not dispense ice. Rarely used it and it broke. Thank goodness there is a 1 year warranty. But if it broke that easy I'm sure it will happen again. I wish I could return it. My referral is to stay away from this model! I'm surprised that this is a Whirlpool because that USE TO BE my go to brand for appliances.

A frig shouldn't need to run for hours in the middle of the night. And I can hear it all the way in my bedroom over 30 feet away. I've tried raising the temperature to 40 degrees but the thermometer I put inside it still reads 32 degrees. It gets 2 stars for doing its job refrigerating, freezing and making ice.

Noisy and cheaply made

I recently bought this Whirlpool refrigerator to replace my counter-depth model, and I’m pleased with how it fits and looks. The lighted ice and water dispensers are very convenient and easy to use, and the ice maker seems to work well. The stainless steel doors resist fingerprints, keeping the fridge looking clean and matching our other Whirlpool kitchen appliances. However, after eight weeks of ownership, I’ve encountered several issues that potential buyers should be aware of. First, the refrigerator section’s temperature regulation was inconsistent. The door panel settings didn’t match the actual temperature inside. After purchasing a couple of thermometers, I found a setting that worked, but the temperature difference between the top and bottom of the fridge was always about 4 degrees different. Fortunately, a service call replaced the temperature control unit, and the fridge now seems to be working better. Another problem was with the freezer door. It had three spots where it would stick and make a popping sound when opening or closing. The service person identified broken hinges and plastic parts, requiring two additional service visits to fix. Now, the door operates smoothly. Surprisingly, the refrigerator was shipped without a filter for the Fresh Flow system, despite Whirlpool promoting this feature for odor control. We had to add a filter ourselves, which added to the cost. The freezer could also benefit from more shelves for better organization. We ended up adding two shelves ourselves. Lastly, the refrigerator is much noisier than I expected. It seems to run almost continuously, which is disruptive, especially since our kitchen, dining room, and great room are open and the noise travels throughout the entire area. I hope these issues are isolated, and Whirlpool will continue to improve the overall quality control of its appliances. I would not recommend purchasing this refrigerator.

i BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE IN THE RECENT POWER OUTAGE FROM SCE, MY OLDER FRIDGE DIED. BECAUSE OF THE FIRES HERE IN SO-CAL, THIS WAS THE ONLY MODEL I COULD GET RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT WAITING MORE THAN A WEEK. THE DEALER WHO SENT THE GUYS TO INSTALL IT BUT THEY BROUGHT THE WRONG WATER CONNECTION. A WEEK WENT BUY AND I BOUGHT THE CORRECT FITTINGS. SINCE THEN WE FOUND THIS FRIDGE TO BE VERY NOISY IT HAS A LOUD HUM ALL THE TIME, THE COMPRESSOR SEEMS TO RUN 80% OR MORE EXCEPT AT LATE NIGHT. WHEN YOU DISPENSE WATER THE SOLENOID MAKES EVEN MORE NOISE. A WEEK AGO WE PUT A GLASS OVEN CONTAINER IN THE FREEZER. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I OPENED THE FREEZER THE CONTAINER WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOOR WITH BROKEN GLASS EVERYWHERE, THE SHELF IS IN A BUNCH OF SMALL PIECES. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS AND IT'S DESTINED TO BE IN THE GARAGE, ONCE I FIND A BETTER UNIT. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BRAND OR MODEL AND THE BIG BOX DEALER THAT HAS NOT HELPED WITH PROBLEM WE HAVE INCURRED.

The fan runs constantly and is so loud we can’t stand to be in the same room. Interior pieces are cheap plastic and the bottom of the unit looks uncovered. We’ve had this less than 4 months and already talking about getting a new one (definitely not the same one!).

New refrigerator for our new house. Annoying high pitched whining sound that is driving us crazy and leaves us less than enamored with Whirlpool, a brand we always loved. We are waiting for a compressor, and our appointment has already been pushed back because the service tech is waiting on the part from Whirlpool. This sound started on day 1. I tried calling the call center to complain about the delay and was on hold for over an hour.

Needed two service in the first three months! It is very noisy, had to install acoustic panels behind it to help with noise and it is still loud, the icemaker sounds like a cement mixer you can hear it on the second floor! Inconsistent temperature in both compartments. Service department tells me I will lucky if last 5 years, my last unit was 25 years old and still working and you couldn't hear it running also a Whirlpool, all my appliances are Whirlpool Gold and have been great but not this one if I could return it I would! Would not recommend buying Whirlpool!

Refrigerator makes a chattering sound day and night, which we can hear in our bedroom. the top shelf freezes. Anything you put too close to the cold air feed. The temperatures are set at the recommended temperature .Also, some food stuff freeze. I found a jar of pickles, half frozen One shelf down from the air feed.

Have had this fridge 11 days and problems already

Refrigerator side freezes everything stored in the back. I have increased the temp up to 39* but it's still happening. 8 days after installing the new fridge the ice maker jammed and won't dispense ice, also the ice storage bin won't open. The latch is working properly but the bin is stuck and I have pulled so hard I'm afraid it will break.

Have had this refrigerator for a little over 3 months. It is very loud and runs constantly! The fridge freezes food if set to the recommended temp. The freezer needs two more shelves which it should have come with. I would not recommend this product!

I bought this refrigerator over six months ago and it is so loud! Everything works as it should (we didn’t set up ice maker so I can’t speak about that), IT IS SO LOUD! I wish I had returned it but I missed the return deadline so I’m stuck with it. I gave it two stars only because it does keep food cold and we have had no issues with temperature.

I feel the quality of this fridge is below par. Shelves are thin glass-I'm so afraid to break them! Drawers appear to be a cheap plastic. There were very few shelves. So happy I kept some stuff from my old fridge because some actually fit! Also, I like cold water. First glass of water is actually warm! What--am I supposed to throw out a full glass of water just so the next one can be cold? Ice maker takes up a lot of freezer area-and for what-Warm water?? Also the space between the doors is not the same top and bottom. Service man tried to adjust but couldn't . Looks like fridge is out of whack.

I've had pretty goo luck with Whirlpool appliances in the past. However this fridge is horrible primarily due to the poor design and function of the ice maker. Whenever you get water from this thing, water comes out of the ice maker and it has destroyed much of the ice maker's components. These things do happen and honestly I might give 2-3 stars pending repair. But that's the problem: the repair was nearly 4 weeks out. Then inclement weather bumped it back another 2 weeks. I mean this thing isn't even 3 months old. Not to mention they sell you a monthly subscription because they say you 'might' have to pay a service fee even if you're under warranty. This is my last Whirlpool appliance. I can take an occasional lemon, but the craptastic service is unacceptable.

This refrigerators compressor and evaporator fan are LOUD!!!! I had a tech come out just to make sure….normal operating noise. I do not recommend this if your living room is open to the kitchen. Of course big box doesn’t take returns.
