We’ve had this fridge for about two weeks now and we’ve been really happy with it. It runs quietly, has plenty of space for our groceries, and the layout makes it easy to stay organized. I also like that it’s pretty small-space friendly while still fitting everything we need. The ice and water dispenser has been really convenient too. Overall we’re really glad we chose this fridge.

Looks nice, cools nice

I’ve only had it a week so really too early to give a fair review. I wish I could adjust the shelves. Also. A “quick start” guide should have instructions on how to clear the air in the water dispenser. I had to spend too much time looking through the manual to figure out why the water dispenser was leaking water down the front of the refrigerator. Also, when I bought “fingerprint proof stainless steel” I assumed the front & sides would be stainless steel. The sides are not stainless steel. I’m disappointed, sides show in my kitchen.

Rating s for only having for about 3 weeks. Fairly quiet with nice looks for price. Only complaint is the side by side doors are not level with each other. Or the handles are not installed correctly. When doors are closed, the handles are offset with each other and from the side looks to have a different roundness. Wish it could be corrected.

This refrigerator is a replacement for another Whirlpool side by side that just died after almost 17yrs. Hopefully this one lasts as long! It's very similar in many ways. Things are in much the same position, shelf and drawer arrangement is about the same so for me that was good. Temperature is nice and cold. I have the fridge set to level 4 out of 5 to ensure that milk in the door is kept cold. This means that things in the back, or even liquids on the shelf can partially freeze. It runs pretty quietly for fridge and freezer. I like the control panel on the front where you choose the ice type and the temperatures. The ice and water dispensers work well. I've not really experienced any drippage. Now to the less good things. The shelves in the fridge cannot be adjusted. I'd prefer a little more height on the top shelf than this has but cannot change it as there's no alternate ridges to slide the shelves into. The door bins don't seem like they'll last very long. Luckily the bins from my old fridge are exactly the same size but more sturdy so I'm using those. The ice maker at the top of the freezer takes up a HUGE amount of space. Somehow this fridge that's supposedly the same size as my previous one has a lot less room in the freezer. That's a bit annoying! It's also more difficult to just reach into the ice bucket to pull out a few cubes. I couldn't at first find the water filter but I see now that again it's right at floor level and will probably be difficult for me to swap them when necessary. It's difficult to get enough leverage when you're down in the floor to push these filters into place. Hopefully it's not as hard as my old one was! Overall I'd say if you're restricted on height as I am but want ice and water in the door, this is a good option. Most are taller than I have room for.

Icemaker to small

Urgent buy.

Our 10 year old Kenmore stopped cooling fridge and freezer on Christmas Day. We decided not to wait on repairs and ordered our Whirlpool side by side. Everything works as described and everything I had in the refrigerator fit fine but not so much in the freezer. Thank goodness we have a freezer also. My only concern is this plastic ice maker. It doesn’t have the metal arm to lift to stop the ice maker. I’m not sure how you would stop it yet. I don’t expect it to last long. I do like the door water and ice on board. Very convenient but water is very touchy.

I've had this now for about a week and it seems to be a good purchase so far. It doesn't make ice as well as I'd like it to. I tried turning the freezer temperature down to 2 and it worked a little better. All in all though I like it so far.

Works and Looks Great!

We’ve had our refrigerator for a little over 3 weeks now and so far it’s doing great. Cools and freezes very well. My only couple complaints are: 1 it extremely noisy when dispensing ice….dont know what’s going on in there but it sounds like it’s grinding the cubes out a big chunk or something before it dispenses them and. 2 is there are only 5 adjustments for temperature setting so the factory setting was actually freezing something’s in the refrigerator area and if you turn it down (temp up) you should be able to fine tune setting finer than 20 percent adjustment.

We love our Whirlpool. It is the same size as our old fridge, but somehow, more spacious. The lighting is fantastic and it keeps very cold just the third setting. Water comes out fast and ice cubes are perfect size.

Great for the price

For the price that it was on sale for and what it does, it is a good refrigerator. Unfortunately, the doors to my house are very small going to each room, and I was very limited on the size and type of refrigerator I could have. This was the best one out of all of the available options that would fit in the space that I have. If I could change this one though, I would make either the shelves adjustable, or at least one inside shelf to be able to fit a gallon of milk. Because you have to put a gallon of milk in the door and everyone knows that putting milk on a door is not the best thing to do because of temperatures.... also having so many beverages on the side door because of the size makes the door very heavy, and it swings open. There's no way for it to just stay open to where you swing it to.

I bought this about a month ago for my mom to replace an old refrigerator we had and it is perfect for the cost. Good temperature settings at recommended levels, no need to get colder. Also the filter reminder is useful and the way to turn on and off the icemaker is not hard.

I really like this refrigerator! So much that I bought it again! It's a great size for a smaller family and one like us who eats a lot of fresh food so go to the store more often and don't need to store a lot of excess frozen food. I like the new fingerprint proof SS finish. The last one I had also had 'resistant' finish, but this one is even better. Makes lots of ice quickly. LOVE the dispenser controls! Don't have to select a button every time you change from ice to water and back and just has all the compartments you would want and need. Overall, a great fridge!

annoying feature

Our condo has limited space for a refrigerator. This side-by-side model fit the space perfectly. The exterior water dispenser leaks a couple of drops each time. It would be a better design to move the dispenser back a bit to have the drops fall in the tray and not onto the floor.

I replaced the Whirlpool I had. Disappointed with the ice maker. Ice cubes get lodged in the drop door, which means they either leave a puddle of water at the base of the dispensing area or eventually fall onto my wood floor and melt. Didn't have this issue with the previous one. Nor did it make the loud clunk sound I now hear when making new ice. My previous fridge was larger. I now think the reported sizes are not consistent with the actual ones. The larger one I saw pictured when shopping is exactly like the one I had but measurements listed indicated it would not fit into my space. I suspect now it would have.

Nice appliance; suits our needs

We have been using this new appliance for almost a month and are satisfied with its workings. This model is a downsize from our previous appliance, but it isn't a noticeable difference in how much it holds on the fridge side. The freezer is where we sacrifice usable space, but a little reconfiguring of how I store things resolved any issues. I like the depth of the door shelving; easily fits gallon and half gallon containers. The new appliance better fits the space in our kitchen.

I love my new Whirlpool fridge!! It was time for a new one and I wanted to match my Whirlpool stove!! I love how the inside lights up so you see everything so nicely! The ice maker is different with no arm you put up or down to make ice or stop. This has a sensor it says, not sure how it works but !! I’m not sure yet but I feel it doesn’t make enough ice?? Probably just me but I just think that because I don’t hear it a lot!! But I’m very happy with my new beautiful Whirlpool fridge!!

Decent fridge, some rough edges

This is one of the few refrigerators that will fit our space, which is only 67" tall. We previously had a Whirlpool top-freezer model, which lasted 22 years! This one runs quietly and keeps the inside cold. Ours did not actually come with the soda can rack for the door as advertised, but that seems really gimmicky anyway, so not a big deal. My biggest gripe is with the ice dispenser; first of all, it is LOUD when dispensing ice (whether cubes or crushed). When using crushed ice, we end up with crushed ice scattered around inside the freezer, as well as on the floor around the refrigerator (as it doesn't all end up in the cup). The water and ice dispenser is really designed for small glasses - it's awkward to try to dispense ice into a tall cup. Oh, and as one who used to have a top freezer, be advised that only the tiniest of frozen pizzas will fit in this freezer. There's overall a decent amount of freezer space; you just can't put anything large in it.

Revised Plastic ICE MAKER

The ice maker in the fridge (mfg01/26) I purchased is not the one that was on the display and is not any of the 4 styles listed in the booklet that came with the fridge. It is all plastic with no metal arm to raise or lower and the ice cube tray is smaller. The ice maker was an important reason for my choice of this model. So a bit of disappointment. Lets hope it fills the ice bin and can keep up with our needs.

Just got this fridge a few days ago. Immediately realized that, unlike its predecessor, the shelves have limited arrangement possibilities! Had to remove the top shelf to have a space tall enough for milk, juice or other taller items! I don’t store milk in the door—not the coldest area! Prefer to store it lower in the fridge for the same reason. The old Kenmore was almost identical to this new Whirlpool (I know—same manufacturer) except that the Kenmore shelves had hooks & the body of the fridge had holders for unlimited shelf arrangement possibilities. I didn’t realize this when shopping for the new fridge. We needed a new one immediately and this was the size we could fit into our kitchen & available immediately. Functionally, it cooled down quickly, was making ice within about 6 hours. Ice cubes are cubes—different from other icemaker ice! I like that! Freezer is good. We have other dedicated freezers so space here wasn’t a problem. Time will tell if this Whirlpool lasts as long as the old Kenmore which was purchased in 2007!

It was missing the can-caddy and I’m waiting for a service call that the store is requiring before they will order me one. Makes me wonder if anything else is missing, like an egg container ot butter tray that was included in other refrigerators I have purchased in the past? I will also be asking the technician about the refrigerator door that swings fully open with a hard stop when used. Thinking a “soft stop” would be standard? It is keeping good temperature and looks sleek and modern.

It is fine so far except you need to know the crushed ice maker spreads out the flow too wide, if not very careful some ice will miss your glass or cup and the water dispenser does not shut off soon enough when you go to take your glass away. For being a 21 cu. ft. refrigerator it holds a lot of food. The controls on the door are easy to use and I like that the ice cubes are cubes and not crescent shaped.

My last whirlpool side by side lasted almost 30 years. The only issue was the ice maker did not deliver ice. I thought about having it repaired but my wife wanted a new one. The only issue I have with this new one is when the doors are closed they are not flush with each other. Is that normal? I felt like it was saying good bye to a old friend when I got rid of the previous fridge. And I am missing a shelf on the inside of the refrigerator door.

My only problem is in order to open one door I have to hold my hand up against the other door or the fridge starts rolling toward me and I have to push it back into place. Is there no way to lock the wheels to keep it from rolling out?

Four because the water filter keeps popping out of the bottom of the freezer section. I can’t get it back in, but fortunately, my husband can, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to close the door. I also find the drawers to be less sturdy than I’d hoped, but do like that there are three and I can easily separate produce, dairy and meat. Would like the water from the door to be colder, but concerned if I mess with setting I could throw off everything else. Overall, it’s performing well, which is good, because it was literally the only ‘frig we could find that would fit the space we have. LOL, as it is, can’t open the freezer door all the way because it is stopped by the wall next to it. Haven’t had anything freeze that isn’t supposed to, so that is a big thumbs up!

Like the size, stainless steel body. things i wished for: locked temperture controls, way to easy to change bu accident wish it had more shelve brackets If you have a lot of tall items there is only one door shelve (1 like) but you have to remove a full shelve to put tall stuff in the main compartment That removes one whole shelve also have noticed that there is a super cold area at the back of the main box. This has caused some items to freeze

Great refrigerator - Lots of space and great big drawers! It needs more front side lighting because when the fridge gets full, it gets darker inside. Shelves are not adjustable which was a little frustrating, but the size is big enough that it wasn't a deal breaker. Easy to move around but was tough getting all the packing off of it as the packing was screwed into the bottom so you have to prop it up to get the packing off.

My prievious refridgerator was a 21 cu. ft traditonal top freeser with ice maker and inside water dispenser. My new Whirlpool side by side has the same capacity but storage space is more convienient and useful. The outside water and ice dispenser is easier to use but takes a little getting use to, preventing water and ice from reaching the floor. The temperature regulator for both sides is also in the outside door and is easy to adjust. I have had the appliance for two weeks and hope it lasts as log as my previous one (14 years).

The best side by side if you're limited by height

I've owned it about two months and love it. This is the tallest model we could fit due to cabinets above the refrigerator. It's a big upgrade from the old top freezer model we own (retired to the garage). The side by side doors make it much easier to store and find food items, and it's convenient having filtered ice and water available without opening the freezer door. It has good lighting, the temperature controls are in the front of the door with the water dispenser, and it's quiet.

Overal refrigerator is ok. It is one of the few that would fit into my "space" for my refrigerator. Needless to say it would have been nice if the shelves were adjustable. I have heard you shouldn't store milk on the door but unfortunately regardless of the size you buy that is the only place for it. There also was supposed to be a can holder but I didn't get one. And I am still waiting for it. (2 months later). Not sure I would use it anyway because the only location for it is under where you put butter/cheese and if you have anything taller in the next shelf there is no room for it. Would I buy it again? Only because of my limited space.

This was the only model with enough fridge and freezer space to replace my GE fridge. I didn't want or need the ice maker/water filter, but found no other model with those specs. 1/3 of the freezer space is taken up by those bells and troublesome whistles. I removed the large module related to the ice maker, now need to replace it with shelves. It's a DIY unless you have any reasonable suggestions. Cheers, Julian

We have had this fridge in our home for 3 weeks. Love the set up of the water and ice dispensing on the door. We have found that the crushed ice leaves a pile inside the freezer, so use the cubes mostly. The shelves inside the freezer and fridge are not adjustable, but seem to work OK for what we store. I put stacking baskets in the freezer to corral opened bags of veggies and coffee and used the same trick in the fridge to gather jellies in one, pickles in another, and snacks in another for quick access.

Very cold temperatures at the mid setpoint

An attractive unit with plenty of refrigerator shelf space. The crisper draws are a bit cheaper than previous models. The door bins are very spacious and hold much product and are adjustable. The icemaker shutoff switch is hard to find and access. The ice bin isn't labeled very well for removal and the instructions show 5 different models, very confusing. The LED lighting is very good in the refrigerator and freezer. The water dispenser should be longer and a more visible color. My last Whirlpool was 22 years old and worked great. It was rusting on the freezer door and looked bad in a very faded white exterior.

Excellent choice of replacement refrigerator! It is a bit smaller than my previous refrigerator but size constraints dictated size. Excellent features and getting accustomed to a neat and clean refrigerator environment. Bit more costly just a few years ago, but if quality, reliability and long term performance are experienced then the costs will be worth the investment!

This product is more functional than my old whirlpool refrigerator, which is now on my patio and much easier to find what I’m looking for, since the lighting is amazing. A big plus is the water and ice through the door and in Arizona, ice is a necessity during the summer time. Glad I purchased this unit.

The refrigerator is a bit smaller than what I want. I purchased it because I didn’t want to wait for the store to order a larger size. My current refrigerator was broken and I needed something right away. It’s a bit noisy. It reminds me of my old refrigerator right before it stopped working. I’m use to refrigerators being noisy while making ice. This refrigerator makes a very noticeable humming sound doing normal use and not making ice. The bottom line is if my old refrigerator wasn’t broken and I was interested in getting a new refrigerator, I would’ve purchased something else.

We've had this for about three weeks and are reasonably happy with it. It replaced a twenty year old Kitchen Aid refrigerator also made by Whirlpool. The refrigerator lighting is great and allows seeing items on all the shelves and drawers. The freezer, not so good on lighting. The freezer has a light at the top, but doesn't light up as well as the refrigerator, so difficult to see items on the freezer lower shelves and drawer. The refrigerator drawers don't have rollers so don't slide smoothly like our old refrigerator. The freezer drawer also has no rollers, but does slide smoothly. I've set the cold control for the refrigerator on three and the freezeer on two. Those settings keep everthing very cold in the refrigerator, and solidly frozen in the freezer. We initially ran about a quart of water through the water dispenser and discarded it after the water was connected. Likewise we discarded the first two cycles of ice cubes. The ice maker started making ice after about eight hours. We can hear the ice drop into the ice bin and the icemaker refill about every hour and forty minutes. It took about three days for the ice bin to completely fill for the first time. We connected to the water supply using 1/4 inch flexible copper tubing connected with a piercing shut-off valve, which works just fine. We chose the White color and it matches just fine with our existing GE White Dishwasher and GE White Range. The user guide is awful. It is not user friendly. It tries to cover multiple models with multiple ice makers, so it's difficult to determine what applies to your model. Likewise the email you'll receive after you register your appliance to "Get To Know Your Refrigerator" starts off with a picture of the wrong model and a generic description. So both of these references may be technically accurate, but are practically worthless. Besides the poor reference material, I have two operational complaints. One is the refrigerator drawers do not open and close smoothly as mentioned earlier. The other is a loud Ker-Klunk sound from the ice dispenser each time it initially engages. Overall we like the refrigerator and would recommend it. Update 1/6/2026: I was able to get the drawers to move smoothly by spraying the drawer edge glide surfaces top anf bottom with silicone spray. The drawers now open and close smoothly. I did this to all three drawers by removing the contents, removing the drawers, and placing each drawer on a bath towel to catch any overspray, while spraying the drawer edge contact surfaces top and bottom.

I had to buy a new refrigerator because my present Kenmore (2017) refrigerator died. It needed a new compressor. It had some features I couldn't get on my any new one. Really had no choice. But the one I choice is a little smaller than my old one but works great. I do like the water/ice feature on the door better on this new Whirlpool refrigerator than my old one.

Where’s the light??

I bought this refrigerator a month ago and so far, I haven’t had any issues. However, when dispensing water, the light does not illuminate your glass. It illuminates light for the ice being dispensed only. I would expect that if you are going to have the water dispensing in FRONT of the ice, you would have designed it so that there was light when dispensing both! So much for not having to turn on an overhead light to get a glass of water. On the plus side, it does dispense cold water, which my last refrigerator did not.

I had a 24 cu ft previously and I 5hough5 I would miss the extra space. This refrigerator seems deeper and I have not missed the extra cu feet. It is brigh5 a d easy to see items. I do miss the temperature controlled crisper drawers, but this refrigerator keeps things very cold on the recommended settings. I am a little concerned that the door comes open quickly and tends to open hard on the hinges. I am trying to train myself to hold the door so it doesn't ruin the hinges.

Recommend when you measure for height measure from across the top toward the back they measure the height by the front and there is a lip that is taller than the actual refrigerator itself . Doing this will allow a better measurement as to what can fit.

Good size and features

I wanted to buy a name brand and I settled on Whirlpool. I had constraints as it has to fit under the built in cabinets in the kitchen. I am pleased with the refrigerator. One issue is that the main shelves aren’t adjustable and some items have to be placed in the door rather than on the glass shelves. In addition, the freezer is too small. However, I have a stand alone freezer so this is only a minor issue. I’m especially happy with the ice maker and temperature control on the door. It is very convenient and works well. The pluses outweigh the negatives.

OK because it fits our space. We wanted water in the door and needed 66" height, so we didn't have much choice. The refrigerator is attractive, but the space in the freezer is very small. Also, the unit is quite noisy. I just hope it lasts as long as my previous similar Whirlpool fridge which had same outside dimensions but had more freezer space.

My only complaint is the ice gets stuck coming out sometimes, didn't know this until we went on vacay and came back to the tray below full of water and a water line going down the door that will not go away. I have tried all sorts of cleaners but it's there to stay.

A little bit of a letdown

Overall, it does keep things refrigerated or frozen. Here are my issues, or rather, the reason for 3 stars: --The icemaker spits out cubes with such force that some go to the floor. Crazy. and it is LOUD when making ice. --The installers said "you are good to go." Not so. A few days after using the icemaker, it spit our chunks of Styrofoam. Yuck. We did not see it beforehand nor were we warned to look for it. --The freezer is just TOO small. --The plastic protective covering does not come off 100%. There are plastic leftovers in some of the seals and is sticking out. The installers just said, "good luck with that. Maybe use a tweezers." Stupid packaging. see pic below. --The sides of the refrigerator are NOT stainless steel like the doors. They are rather ugly. Previously I bought a Whirlpool range, dishwasher and microwave. None of those appliances had metal like that. It was all beautiful black stainless.

It is okay but not great

I bought this 33" wide side by side 3 weeks ago to replace a comparable 25-year-old Kitchen Aid. The lighting is good, and it seems to be cooling satisfactorily. The drawers do not glide as smoothly as my old one's did, because the drawers and tracks are both plastic, which bind once contents are added. As advertised, it was to have a "can caddy" but it does not. The shelves lack enough shelf position locations for the top shelf position to be utilized for taller items, like milk, juice bottles, water pitchers etc., without sacrificing a lower shelf. I ended up not being able to use the top shelf position to allow adequate clearance for some items, so, sadly, now there are fewer shelves and less storage space than my old Kitchen aid had. Unfortunately, due to outside height and width clearances, this is the only side by side that will fit in my space. I wish there was a comparable Kitchen aid still in production, which I suspect would be a higher quality, more fully featured product. Alas, this one does at least cool and freeze food as expected.

Bought this side by side after having a similar side by side for over 15 years with no issues. This fridge was first delivered and wouldn’t get cold. Had a replacement brought and now after 4 months we are having trouble with the ice maker. It constantly needs to be reset because it stops making ice. Also gallons and half gallons hit the top of the fridge on the top shelf and the shelves are only adjustable on the door. Bought this brand because it’s usually one of the best- now I’m not so sure.

I only had a choice of this and one other unit because of space limitations. Does the job admirably. Seems to run a lot and is louder than expected. Do not care for fan motor clicking on and off while running and opening the door. Compressor fine, but fan motor already has a loud hum and sounds ready to fail at any time.

The refrigerator works great, the freezer portion also works great. The shortfall for the unit is the water and ice dispenser. The connection for the ice dispenser seems cheaply made when you push it in. The water and ice dispenser are both impossible to use larger cups with without difficulty.

This model is OK

It does the job. There are a few things that I really don't like. When you open the freezer door, the ice maker is not easily accessible. I am older and have a hard time reaching under it when I have to turn it off. There is no arm to lift up to temporarily shut it off. There is a switch that toggles underneath for the "On" and "Off". Also, the positioning of the ice dispenser and the water dispenser on the door is ridiculous. Did the engineer ever try to get ice and then water from this design of this dispenser. My cup barely fits in the opening. I only have one mug that is the size of the opening. If I try to fill a cup with ice that is too big for the opening. I have to tilt it in order to push against the ice lever. When I do this, the edge of the cup closest to me hits the water dispenser and water flows out onto my hand and the floor. I am constantly wiping up water when I try to fill my cup or glass with ice.

Bought for its smaller (33") dimensions needed for our kitchenette, we found it surprising that it was more expensive than your larger 36" similar model. Also thought the black SS was excessively priced compared to regular SS on the same model. The front bottom left has a white tube and hinge which contrasts sharply with the black SS and lower supports. I had to improvise with black foam and tape to hide this from view. Otherwise, this highly rated Whirlpool fit our dimensional restrictions and will hopefully run problem free for a long lifetime.

I have had this fridge for about a month and it does work. It was not my first choice but I had to work with the space that I have. The interior space is smaller than my previous fridge so it has taken some getting used to. My appliances are not all the same brand and this coordinates well with the other appliances. Features that I don't care for: 1) the rimless shelves. I don't look forward to the first leak or spill (and it will happen) 2) the shelves are not adjustable. The only shelf that will hold a juice carton is the top shelf. The bins on the door are adjustable so tall items will fit there. They just don't feel secure. 3) A taller glass will not fit under the ice/water dispenser. Water and ice often wind up on the floor. Some of this was in the description so I knew it when I bought it. 4) I still haven't figured out how to turn the icemaker off for cleaning. For me, this was the best choice for my space even with its limitations.

I am not happy with the black open square on the freezer hinge on the bottom near the water filter. The refrigerator is white and the little square opening stands out black when you look at the refrigerator. Also, I wish the shelfs had a spill proof frame around the glass shelfs. It would also be nice to have adjustable shelf slots, so you could put the shelfs at different levels inside the refrigerator. I like the shiny white doors. The light is very bright inside the refrigerator and freezer. I also enjoy the deli drawer.

I am disappointed in my new refrigerator. We were totally without a refrigerator, so had to buy what was available on floor. 1. Ice maker extremely loud, can hear it from other end of house.2. Top shelf, which is only tall shelf, does not accommodate an Ocean Spray juice bottle. 3. If I put tall bottles in door, the door won' t close without a good shove. 4.Freezer space very limited, and what on earth is that tiny top door shelf supposed to hold?!5. Odd design features, cheap interior materials

The new fridge is made of cheaper materials than my old one. The veggie and fruit drawers have no climate control. There is no Energy Saver designation. The turn off bar for the ice maker is placed inconveniently under the piles of ice, so it it nearly impossible to turn it off if you have any ice in5e freezer. The spit for the exterior water nozzle is awkwardly placed. Overall, my 18 year old fridge was much nicer than this one, and roomier. I had to buy this model to fit height limitations, but I don’t love the quality or design.

I bought this fridge a month ago and the freezer door has been hard to open every time I open it since it was new. Something in the water dispenser area is leaking, freezing the door closed. It's brand new and it has a leak somewhere. Not sure if this is just how these are, or it's an actual defect. I would think it's a defect. But it's taken a repair man over a month to come check it out under their "warranty".

A good refrigerator in general

In general, I’m pretty happy with this refrigerator. It has plenty of space for my needs, keeps everything at a perfectly cold temperature, and I love the filtered water/ice cube dispenser in the front. However, I was very disappointed that the base of the refrigerator is so unsightly and looks unfinished. It’s so bad that I would have returned the refrigerator if I could find another one that would fit in my condo. At a minimum, this flaw should be visible in advertisements and floor displays in the interest of honest advertising.

Refrigerator fits in the space we have.

We purchased this model because we were limited by the height we had available due to a cabinet. It is certainly adequate. Things I don't like is that the shelves are not adjustable. I don't like to put milk on the door so our gallon only fits on the top shelf. Old refrigerator had 3 generous sized drawers at the bottom. This refrigerator has 3 which makes the bottom drawer not very big. One thing we need to look into is the swinging out refrigerator door. We need to see if we can adjust it so that it doesn't swing all the way open. We are training ourselves to "catch" it so it doesn't clunk back! Don't know what the long term effect of that will be. This is adequate size for the two of us, but not sure a larger family would find it big enough to fill. (We have a box freezer, so the freezer space in the fridge is adequate.)

I had heard good things about the brand, so I bought it. It's a fairly good design but the engineers have F'...ed it up to save a few pennies. I'm sorry for them and me for falling for it.

Engineering flaw?

It's fine, but the motor/fan shuts off every time you open the door. So if I am baking something, or cooking, and I open the fridge door 2-3 times in a couple of minutes, the fan/motor is constantly turning itself on and off. I can't imagine how long it's going to last given that kind of workout . PLUS, I clean my fridge about once a month if not more. Apparently, there is no shut off switch. The manual says to shut down the fridge, you need to UNPLUG IT! My fridge is tightly squeezed between a wall and a counter, with a tile floor. I would have to pull it out, across the tile floor, to reach the back of it where the plug is. Are you kidding?!

Regrets

We had to buy the size refrigerator that we bought due to the built in counter space available. The refrigerator rolls out every time we pull a door open. We had to buy stupid door stops! The doors swing all the way back when opening because they are so light weight. We had a 1987 GE Profile side by side that was still working! Wish we kept it!

Needs work on the ice/water dispenser design.

The refrigerator is just OK. Drawers don't glide smoothly, seem cheap. The ice/water dispensing is seriously flawed. The spot to dispense ice is so small only short glasses will fit. Can't get any typical water bottles in there. The water dispenser is located on the very front of the refrigerator and not in with the ice dispenser. This makes using the light to see how full the cup is useless.

I like the refrigerator but I don’t like that you can’t just the shelves, and they are too close together and the ice make in the side door takes up a lot of space, and on the outside where the water is you can’t stand a glass up to put ice in your glass. I do like how bright it’s is and it’s fingerprint free. But overall it’s nice..

Disappointing functionality

We bought this refrigerator the week of Christmas when our old one that was a 24 year old version of this one failed. We have been very disappointed in the new layout and non- functionality of the updated water and ice dispenser. The hole for dispenser is shorter which does t make sense in the age of 30oz and 40oz tumblers. It's hard to get more than an 8oz glass into the hole to get ice. When using a bigger glass, the opposite side of the glass rim can hit the water dispenser lever making a mess. The water dispenser is at the front of the door. Unless you consciously pause after dispensing water, the water is going to drop down the front of the fridge door. We are continuously wiping off the door and the floor from water drips. We do not store our milk on the door...but the top shelf of the refrigerator section is too short to accommodate a gallon of milk. We had to remove the top shelf to be able to use it. It would have been useful to have some shelves that were adjustable. The temperature controls on the outside are easily bumped to change the temp of the fridge and freezer. I do appreciate the 3rd drawer. I also like the size and shape of the ice. And I like the metal door handles. On my next fridge I will pay more attention to the dispenser set up as that feature is important to us.

disappointing refrigerator

I am disappointed. Shelves are not adjustable, my eggs freeze despite location and refrigerator setting, and the WORST is the refrigerator door. When the door is open more than 90 degrees, it swings open all the way with great force, fast and hard. I've had it adjusted, with no luck. I have to grab the door as it starts to swing back. I'm waiting for the hinges to come apart from the force.

Design mistake

There is a design mistake.... I bought a side-by-side. The door handles don't line up. If you adjust the door handles, the doors don't line up. the installers tell me there isn't anything I can do about it. It doesn't look good and I'm not satisfied.

Nice looking refrigerator, it’s 1.5 inches in width smaller than prior frige- but interior is much smaller. I purchased online, may have hesitated if I’d seen the difference in interior space. Overall it’s fine, once I have drip in water dispenser fixed- it’ll be better!

Good, but not quite good enough!

This is a good quality refrigerator. However, at this point, cooling in the fridge area is spotty. The top freezes while the bottom stays ok. We will see how it works when we adjust the temperature. Also, the space for the water and ice dispenser in the door is much too small. There is not enough room to slide a normal-sized cup or glass under the spots where the ice and water come out. Otherwise, the ice and water work fine. While not really ideal, we will keep it and get used to having it.

Deceitful photos on product page

The photo of the inside of this model that is displayed on the product page is false advertising. The photo shows the freezer shelf holding several Home Run Inn cheese pizzas laid flat. The box for this brand pizza measures 12 x 12 inches. Yet the width of my new freezer shelf is less that 10 inches. In the photo the top slot on the freezer door is holding a box of Dole Banana Dippers which measures 7x8. This slot on my new freezer door measures only 4 inches wide. This is especially troubling because folks have been reporting this discrepancy on the Whirlpool WRS321SDHW review page for six years! But since this is the only side-by-side model with ice and water on the door made by any manufacturer that fits into a space less than 67 inches high I probably would have gotten the same model had I read these reviews before choosing it. But I do feel the dishonesty of the product photo is intentional and reflects the ethics of Whirlpool Corp. Let the buyer beware!

Bad Ice Maker System

Do not purchase this refrigerator. We have had it for a year, and it has been a nightmare. The Ice Maker freezes over. The water dispenser leaks and periodically it releases Ice cubes that fall to the floor. We have an extended warranty that we used but it just doesn't work well. Oh, and I was telling my granddaughter about it, and she has the same refrigerator and has the same problems

The freezer is nowhere near as big as my old refrigerator the way it's situated, you can't get nothing in the freezer, the shelf in the refrigerator you can't put a gallon of milk up there. You can't readjust shelves in order to make them fit.

Disappointed in this refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator 3 months ago and I wish I could have my old, half functioning refrigerator back. First, we had to replace the fan within a week of receiving the refrigerator because it somehow broke. Now, we can barely place items on the top shelf because if it’s even remotely near the fan, it will freeze them. We’ve tried multiple temperature settings including the recommended ones. We’ve had to throw away dairy products and eggs on more than one occasion because this refrigerator can’t figure out if it wants to be too warm or too cold. Also, the design of the ice/water dispenser is flawed, it constantly drips and will randomly spit out ice cubes onto our kitchen floor. We are experiencing some water damage on our kitchen floor due to this, and I have to constantly keep a towel under the freezer door which is not ideal. The freezer space is also tiny. The only reason I’m not giving it 1 star is at least it looks nice in our space. Other than that, I would not recommend this product to anyone!

Extremely disappointed

Refrigerator seems to run almost all the time. Very noisy. Not quiet at all. Constantly have to check the temp settings because they get bumped when getting ice or water out of the door and changing the settings. Doors don't line up even. Seems like a very cheap made product but not a cheap price tag.

Few arrangement options

Management company replaced old fridge with this one. Very few options as far as juices or jugs fitting. You can fit a few in the door or the top shelf but those are your only two options by default. Also, shelves are basically as is... while other refrigerators you can adjust the height some, this one you either use as is or have to remove a shelf if you need more room for tall items or dont want them at the very top.

I'm disappointed with this refrigerator. The ice dispenser jams or dispenses ice when no one is in the room - we walk in and find ice all over the kitchen floor. The items in the top shelf of the refrigerator freeze near the back. The repairman said it was a gas leak, and we needed a close system technician to repair it. I've talked with the warranty people at Frigidaire several times and they tell me they are searching for a technician, I've been waiting for 3 weeks now, fearful that the refrigerator will fail and I will lose all the food inside.

Nice looking but has Flaws

The refrigerator is nice looking and overall seems to be working ok, however I do have a few issues. The shelves are not adjustable. They are removable. Because of dimension restrictions in my kitchen I am limited to the size of the refrigerator I can have. My previous refrigerator was a earlier Whirlpool model with the same exterior dimensions as my current model. It's shelves were actually adjustable. I could set the height of the shelves where I wanted. This current models does now allow me the same flexibility. I can just remove shelves. Also this model seems to show smudges and stains on the exterior more than my previous model. The doors of the refrigerator don't seem to stay level. One door was slightly higher than the other when assembled, but the delivery guys were able to adjust it. Within days the doors were uneven again. Also the refrigerator door swings too wide and can bang into the counter very easily. I called Whirlpool customer service to have these door issues addressed. A serviceman was able to level the doors (time will tell if this last) but said there was no fix to the door swing. That was not what the Whirlpool customer rep had indicated to me.

Poor quality

My previous refrigerator was a Kenmore. that lasted 23 years. I doubt my new Whirlpool lasts 5 years. It is clearly not the quality of my old fridge. I removed the top glass shelf to accommodate taller items and the next lower shelf is not level. It slopes down because there is something wrong with the placement of the shelf holders. Items on the shelf slide towards the front and could fall off.

bought 2 months ago, had the whirlpool service man come out. This is the loudest refridge I have ever heard. Service man said they have had a lot of complaints. In 2022 they changed metal to a thinner material, that’s why the motor noise is so loud. I have a 27 year old whirlpool and working great other than ice maker quit. I highly do not recommend buying this brand. I’m So disappointed, waste of money.

Poor design change

Very loud refrigerator - sounds like it is going to die. Instead of the water/ice being next to each other the dispensers are stacked so you cannot get large containers under there to fill. The water has no light so you cannot see how much water is in your container. The ice cubes are square instead of elongated so they get stuck in the dispenser. The ice maker takes up a lot space in the freezer. The shelves are not adjustable. I bought this as my previous Whirlpool refrigerator had the ice maker go out after 13 years and there was not a replacement available and I needed a smaller side by side that only Whirlpool makes. My first fridge was ideal - I could dispense water/ice as they were beside each other and not stacked and the ice cubes were elongated and did not get stuck and the ice maker was on the door and the shelves were adjustable.

This refrigerator is the poorest made refrigerator I have ever owned but, in all honesty, it is, according to Spencer’s, the absolutely only refrigerator that fits no matter how cheap or expensive. Would have gladly paid more as my previous refrigerator was excellent and looked beautiful. This refrigerator has the smallest freezer compartment I have ever seen. Ridiculous!
