Really Great features!

We bought this Very Nice KitchenAid refrigerator and have had it a week. I think it is a really great quality appliance! It’s a lot better quality than most other brands we looked at before we bought this KitchenAid. The handles are very solid and heavy. I really like how the drawers slide so nicely! I like the produce and meat drawer that you can change the temperature for what you put in it. It’s a very nice looking refrigerator! It keeps the temperature for the fridge and freezer just right. The ice maker works well and holds a lot of ice and hasn’t run out of ice for us. I hope this fridge will last us for a very long time like our 28 year old Kitchenaid fridge which still is running well in our garage that we use as our second fridge now.

We are now downsizing and in the transition we have already ordered new appliances for our new home. You guessed it, Kitchenaid. I will miss this kitchen!

Love, love, love this refrigerator

Loved my old refrig but I think I now love this one better. I really like the 2 separate refrigerator drawers. They allow for better organization. Also the sliding bins in front are nice for butter and cream cheese. The 3 tier drawers in the freezer are also a favorite. I can now fill my glass up with ice even with the other door is open and can excess the large bins with only one door open too. I did not like the gray sides, as my stove and knobs are black, so I painted the side that could been seen black and it looks great now!

We love this refrigerator! With the incorporation of a few lazy susans, it is way more organized than any fridge we have ever owned! We always know what we have at all times. The only thing we've noticed, although it doesn't detract from our five-star rating, is that the water/ice maker makes a noise right before it fills up the ice tray or dumps the ice, and it sounds like there might be a mechanical issue. I think it is just normal on this model. Our old fridge died within 5 years, and although this was expensive and not something we expected to have to buy so soon, we are delighted we did! Buy, buy, BUY! :)

I bought this to replace a four year old Kitchenaid that failed and could not be repaired by Kitchenaid after multiple attempts. I am very satisfied with the new replacement. It is well designed and convenient to use. It goes very well with my existing all Mitchensid kitchen.

Nice refrigerator

Love it but the drawers initially closed themselves when I pushed them three quarters of the way in. Very cool but they don’t do it anymore. Also, the outside of it came with a smudge where I think there had been a sticker and it will not come off. It does also easily get finger smudges that are hard to remove.

Water I’ve had my new frig for about a month. It’s quiet and efficient. Great ice maker and on the door. I like the size of the ice cubes better than the Samsung I had before. They are smaller. The freezer is awesome. Two large trays and a drawer that is divided. Two drawers between the frig and freezer are handy. I haven’t reconfigured the shelves inside yet. I need some more space for taller items. I loved the Samsung black color, but KitchenAid only has black stainless. It’s growing on me. Everything on the outside of the Samsung was black, so the stainless handles on this one took some getting used to, but now I love them. They feel substantial. It looks busier on the outside than the sleekness of the Samsung, but I actually like it better. Looks very elegant and expensive!

After moving, I missed this fridge. Finally, I bought the same model. I loved it that much. I swear, the angels sing when you open the doors. Best fridge I've ever had. The only odd thing is that we didn't get dividers for the two pull out drawers. In the last model I had them. Not sure why they'd be omitted this time.

I’ve only had this refrigerator since 1/13/2026. I waited over 6 weeks for delivery. Well worth the wait! It has already lasted longer than my 4 year old LG. I love the 3 pull out drawers in the freezer, the 2 pull out drawers. I purchased without actually seeing it, but so far I love it! The door alarm is soft gentle sound, not annoying like the LG when the doors were initially installed wrong.

I love this refrigerator so far. It is beautiful and matches my Wolf Appliances nicely. The layout of the storage is very thoughtful and user friendly. I really like that I can precisely input how much water I need dispensed and it will do it!!My only complaint is that my refrigerator did not have the glass shelf over the Herb storage area or the small fresh herb container. Ferguson’s is trying to see if they can get the parts replaced, but so far no answer. I see where I could buy the container, but not the glass cover. Which I shouldn’t have to do anyways. Otherwise, it is perfect for my needs.

We love our refrigerator this is the 3rd of this model. The 1st one had to get rid of due to the house being full of mold. The 2nd although looked great from outside the inside was breaking down in 4-5 years and the compressor and other parts failed causing to buy another. The last looks great and we have matching appliances all throughout the kitchen. Works great and quite pleased.

We got this refrigerator about a month ago. Working well so far. Love the black stainless finish and the stainless handle combination. The deli and fruit/veg small drawers are great for organizing things. Freezer stays cold and holds a lot - just make sure you organize it. The one downside is the ice maker. It is slow to make ice (even after several days of running) and the ice melts inside the bin. It doesn't cause a leak, but the ice definitely shrinks down; it doesn't hold a lot of ice either. one family meal and it was empty for the rest of the day. The ice/water/crushed ice button is slow to respond to changes. It works, but you have to press, wait, press, wait to make it change.

The only complaint I have about this fridge is the way the water dispenses. It doesn’t come out in a solid stream and has a lot of air in it. It keeps everything cold and hasn’t broken down like out other fridge whenever we turned off the air conditioning that started from day 1. I’m so grateful for the 3 drawers in the Freezer compartment. Door space is smaller than I’d like but the ice maker makes up for any real flaws in the fridge. The 2 drawers keep two kids happy with their own compartments to keep their stuff separate.

Amazing Refrigerator!

Today makes 1 month since purchasing this refrigerator and my husband and I could not be happier. We looked at dozens of models on the showroom floor and when my husband saw this KitchenAid, he knew this was the one. The biggest selling point is the two separate meat and vegetable bin drawers. What a fantastic idea!!!!! This way, I am not having to open the main refrigerator doors dozens of time each day. I know the interior of all compartments stays cooler and, therefore, safer. The separate meat and vegetable bins ensure the proper temperature for the meats and longer shelf-life for the vegetables. The freezer compartment below is amazingly roomy and allows me to keep different kinds of meats and frozen items separated for easier access. We definitely made the right choice.

Refrigerator is sleek and beautiful. Very quiet. The reason why I didn’t give it a 5 Star is because water dispenser sprays instead of clean stream so you can’t sit glass in dispenser to autofill. You have to hold it up high to keep water from spraying outside of glass or cup.

I bought this because my Samsung didn't really match my new kitchen and .. it is 10 years old. This compliments my KAid induction range and under counter KA refrigerator that is used for dairy. The refigerator is quite large, squared and industrial looking. The drawers are functional and the soft closing is perfect. My old frig had a shallow door that allowed access to condiments that I miss. The freezer drawers are exquisite and better than expected. Icemaker is so far very good. Truly, I researched the he'll out of this before I bought it. The naysayers are not making sense but time must pass. I love it so far.

Freezer Space

Was looking for a new refrigerator that had more freezer space. Looked at all brands at different locations in my area and only found this Kitchen Aid. I replaced a 15+ year old Kitchen Aid that was still working minus the ice maker which gave out many years ago. I originally did not want a French Door type, but there was nothing else on the market that met my criteria. I have had it about a month and am getting use to the French Door style. I like that it has 3 different levels in the freezer. I am impressed with the quality and design of this new model, and so far exceeds my expectations. Also happy to have a ice maker once again!

Nice clean lines with some issues

We purchased about a month ago and are happy with the design and look. We are having two issues, the first one is with the self closing drawers, the do not close fully and no alarm let’s you know there open. The second issue is the ice maker with crushed ice gets jammed and have to switch to cube and back to crushed for it to work. Going to wait a month or so before getting a service call.

New valve a lot noisier than the old one.

We had this refrigerator for 8 years and it was working fine until the compressor gave up. We bought exactly the same as we like both the style and functionality. The new one works but we have a problem with it. The valve regulating which way the coolant flows is very noisy. It should only be noisy when the cooling cycle starts but ours goes on for 30 minutes plus. We already had a service appointment where we were told the noise is normal but only for short periods. I am left to troubleshoot myself, I am not convinced this was a good purchase.

Purchased in 02/22/25; love the openness and do not loose smaller items so less is wasted. Love the separate & individually accessed deli and fresh veggie drawers as lunch items can be stores and accessed without opening the French doors. Downside is the water spout access that if it were an inch longer, I wouldn't spill water on the floor when the container moves. Opening could also solve the problem if it were an inch longer.

Replaced a Samsung with this great KitchenAid fridge! The 3 drawer freezer is wonderful & easy to keep things organized! Really like the removable bins in the doors, yay! Also great ice maker that you can remove the bin as well! First ice maker I’ve ever had in the roof of the fridge, great idea!!! Deli drawers are great size & like the soft close feature. Obviously, can’t say enough good things!

This large sized refrigerator is just what we needed. The shelves are customizable, the small drawers in front of the internal drawers are very useful for small items like butter. The dedicated product drawer is a bit small for us but we are making it work. I love the other drawer that can change from defrosting meats to a cheese drawer. The unit is deep so plan for that as you make your purchase as we needed to do a bit of work to ensure the cabinet could receive this refrigerator. Our last one was not as deep. The gray color on the inside gives this a luxurious feel. I also love the freezer with it's two shallow pull out shelves. Also the ice maker is quieter than our previous refrigerator. All in all this is a great appliance.

Issues

I do love the style of the 2 door/3 drawer refrigerator. The first one we had for 4 years and then it started having issues with the ice maker. The freezer was also getting ice all over it. I would basically have to defrost it!! The repairman said we were leaving the drawer open too long. We would open the freezer get what we wanted and close it! The repairman came out 4 times for the ice maker. No matter what he did, including replacing the ice maker, it would work for a little bit and then start melting the ice again. The last repairman found the issue and it wasn’t the ice maker. It had to do with the freon and it couldn’t be fixed. Whirlpool replaced the refrigerator at no cost to us. Now our new one is getting water around the top of the seal and drawer of the freezer. Also the delivery guy and I both went over the unit to make sure there were no dents etc. We found a very small rust spot but it wasn’t bad enough to return it. I noticed the other day a bunch of rust spots (it looked like something was dripped down it). A 9”x5” area. There is no way we missed this at delivery. This was the second one. The first one we had to reject delivery because of several dents. So this one we went over it good. The repairman is coming out in a couple days. I’m expecting Whirlpool to take care of it. They are very good to deal with that’s why the 4 star.

Replaced a 6 year old Kitchenaid - Love the Layout

We bought this to replace a 6 year old Kitchenaid French Door refrigerator for which we were having continuous problems. After looking at others including LG, Samsung, Bosch, GE Profile, we decided we still preferred the layout and particularly the icemaker access. We hoe our previous model was just a lemon or that the issues have been worked out and decided to give KA another chance. We are contacting KA about a shelf "fit" concern, but do not anticipate that this will be unresolvable.

This is the second Refrigerator since the 1st could not be repaired. Icemaker kept freezing up and no parts were available to repair. This unit so far has been Okay. Have service contract on this unit as did the previous. Had to replace both doors since the gaskets tore and lost sealing. You have to close the freezer door first before closing the refrigerator door. This has to be every time you open the freezer door, in other words, "opening the freezer door, requires you to open refrigerator door before closing the refrigerator door" This is a challenge when you have grandchildren!

Bought this about a month ago. It wouldn't fit thru the door without removing all the doors and drawers. Buyer beware there is a correct way to remove and re-install the doors. The delivery guys did a great job but we're not aware of the procedure for removing and replacing the doors. (Not there fault). One of the doors wouldn't work right after reinstall. Kitchenaid did great, they had someone out right away to fix it. I like this fridge alot. My complaints are the upper drawer in the freezer is not the easiest to grab. It's hidden back in there and hard to grab to pull out. It needs a grab handle or something. The other complaint is the water tray in the water dispenser. I spilled water. And kids always spill water! Be very careful removing that tray. The tiny tabs break really easy. If just the tip of the corner breaks the tray will no longer stay in place. I need to replace this part because mine is now broken. Aside from these little issues it's a good fridge. Close to 5 stars! Can't go wrong with Kitchenaid.

Water lines need to be redesigned

Less than one month of ownership, so far so good. The issue I had right off the bat was with the water dispenser making a huge loud vibration helicopter sound. It was not the filter nor air in the system. It's the water pressure from the wall being too high and making the solenoid have a hard time staying open when water is solicited at the door. The solution was to reduce the water pressure by partially shutting off the wall water valve. Another design issue is the water spout is positioned too far out and it also doesn't dispense a solid stream at any pressure, it always splatters around intermittently during a pour. I just hope this unit lasts as long as my previous Whirlpool Gold of 20 years.

We have only had it maybe 2 weeks and for the amount of money paid... there are alot of things that should be better. The right side opening catches before its fully open so i consistently hit my shoulder on it. The only way to access the inside of the fridge is if you open BOTH sides - which i dont like. The ice machine takes FOR-FREAKING-EVER oh my gosh. We're ready to just get a dang ice machine at this point. I drink ice coffee every morning so putting ice in my cup is about a minute long now. The same thing with the water - but the "auto dispense" feature is nice. The changeable shelves are ok but - they really dont fit anything well. And the little slidy things on the bottom that i totally thought i'd use SO MUCH. Yeah they pop right off making them useless. No reason to slide because they dont even stay attached.. On to the freezer.. Whoever made the "pizza storage" has never purchased a pizza. That long of a holder area, only 2 pizzas fit because its not wide enough to accommodate them side by side (short by like 2") and there isnt enough depth to fit anymore than 2. Currently it holds burritos. There are 2 additional trays in the freezer, 1 you can totally see.. the other one you actually have to remember is there because you cant see it or reach it easily. You have to blindly reach in and attempt to grab. Annoying. All in all this is an overpriced garage fridge. Its too annoying to "love".

Stainless steel had rust stains after 2 months.

The stainless steel is getting rust stains after just a couple of months. I called the place where I got it and they sent a repairman to look at it. He said “it’s not rusting, it’s surface rust.” He went out to his truck, came back with Barkeepers Friend and removed it with some elbow grease. He tried to say it was because I wasn’t using the proper cleaning product. I explained I was using stainless steel cleaner just like I’ve used on previous fridges and none have ever done this. He then basically said they’re not using quality stainless anymore. I just spent the evening scrubbing about a dozen little rust spots. It’s going to be very annoying to have to do this for the remainder of the refrigerators life. I’d like to add that during a recent power outage my old Samsung (now the beverage fridge) kept the contents of the fridge frozen MUCH better than this Kitchenaid. I like the layout/design of the fridge very much but because of these issues I would not recommend it. Disappointing for such a well-regarded company.

We bought our multi-door Kitchen-Aid refrigerator, cook top, microwave, oven, and warming drawer in 2017 during the remodeling of our kitchen. The refrigerator has been a big disappointment because the first one did not work and the second one has had multiple issues including leaking water on the floor and dripping and freezing into the freezer bottom drawer. Plus, the refrigerator could not be leveled until it was manually propped up and therefore can not move it to clean underneath with a professional being there to be sure it is level. Also, the finish on the appliances have been a real pain to clean. I like the look when I can get them polished the right way. The refrigerator has been the real issue. Just when you think the water leaking is finished, we come home and find water puddled on the floor in front of the refrigerator. What needs to be done?

We have had this refrigerator for 2 months and have had some issues with the door open alarm. It seems to be related to one of the smaller drawers not fully sealing when closed. It has been pretty annoying. The other thing I don't like are the 2 drawers in the main fridge- they are not humidity controlled, so fruit and vegetables do not stay fresh. I have had 2 other Kitchenaid refrigerators that I like better than this one so a bit disappointed.

Disappointed

The top 2 French doors don’t align. The left door actually rubs against the right door when closing. The installer said there is minimal adjustment to the doors alignment and no further adjustment was possible. As large as this fridge is, it actually has less internal storage space than our previous 12-year old, Samsung of comparable design. The extra drawers are the primary reason for that. Nice features, but less than expected construction quality

Kitchenaid Multi-Door Refrigerator/Freezer

Have had this refrigerator for just over 5 years. Love the functional aspects of it, solid construction and very attractive. But it was never cold enough, and I could not adjust the refrigeration to a lower temperature. About 1 month prior to 5 year date, lights went bad. Then shortly after 5 year anniversary, freezer failed. Now, I am purchasing a new refrigerator because it's going bad again. This was not a reliable refrigerator for it's basic function of refrigeration.

bought this 6 months ago and I'm on my second one. Fit and finish was so awful the appliance repair guy recommended to Kitchen Aid to replace it. So many problems with the first one but so far the second is working fine. We would not get this style again, difficult to use and so much can and will go wrong.

We bought this refrigerator in 2024, and it had to be replaced this year due to icemaker malfunctions that could not be solved. The replacement refrigerator has a problem with the freezer drawer seal that we have a service request in for now. However, we really like the design and features of the unit with the two doors and three drawers.

Don't like the shelves have to be staggered - don't understand that feature. The feature to 'measure how many of ounces' of water doesn't measure correctly, so what is the point of having it? Also, fridge is to compartmentalized - too many drawers. Love the freezer!

Beautiful styling, thoughtful and useful layout, and why isn't there a built-in thermometer? Wouldn't that be an obvious feature? Right now, I have a couple standard refrigerator thermometers in there, but it's a clunky solution to what should be part of the build. If the reason we have a 'fridge in our kitchen is to keep food at appropriate temperatures, Kitchenaid should be doing better with the user interface on that.

Everything great but ice/water dispenser.

I love everything about this refrigerator. However I am disappointed with the water and ice dispenser are on one dispensing spot. It gets really messy when I’m expecting water and ice comes barreling out and vice a versa. I would’ve given a 5 star if they’re separated. Also there’s no ounces measurement and there’s a 1-2 seconds delay when the water is coming out…water keeps coming out after I stop pushing the lever.

Replacing after three years. Temp control of the middle drawers stopped working after 1.5 years. Interior lights went after 3 yrs. Total replacement of fridge (thankfully had extended warranty). Going to different brand. So disappointed. Paid a lot and loved the look.

DO NOT BUY - continued issues and design flaws

We got this with our new home build and it has already had to be serviced THREE times in less than three months. The freezer door builds up condensation, and even after waiting 8 weeks to get a new door and have it installed, it still does this. We are so sick and tired of having to have this addressed - this should NOT happen with a fridge at this (or any other) price point. As well, the appliance repairman told us that this fridge has design flaws that cause issues (for instance, the electric display panel in the drawer under the water dispenser eventually will short out due to having water dispensed directly above it), so we need to get the extended warranty because the repairs are very expensive. If we could trade this in for another model, we would.

We bought it 3 weeks ago. Due to the price and how it looked and what we were comparing in the stores we thought we found the best one. We got it home. It went well. However not even three days later the freezer started to over frost. We had the guy come and look at it and it must not be an unknown problem and is more than likely to happen. We have to wait 6-8 weeks for a new freezer door.. not sure what that entails. We do love the drawers. We worry about the water being right over the middle drawer and ruining the buttons there though. Hopelessly this fridge can last with the amount of money it cost us.

I bought this fridge 6 years ago and I have overall really liked the fridge and its features but over these last 6 years I have had my ice maker repaired SEVERAL times and now I have to buy a whole new fridge because there is a refrigerant leak and because it is a sealed system - it would be too costly to repair it per the technician so I have to buy a brand new fridge. For the price - over 4,000 after taxes - only 6 years of use is really disappointing. I was, however, pleased with the customer service of kitchen-aid and I have received a discount towards a new fridge for customer loyalty. Customer service is a big PRO for me. Still - I would be very cautious buying this model.

Not worth the hassle!

Don't even think about buying this one! We've had this model for about 3 years and have had to manually defrost it at least 4 times now and we lost a lot of food in the fridge each time as it likes to misbehave when we are gone for a few days or more! And don't get me started about the ice machine! At least once a week it decides to partial melt the ice and then jam up! FYI only live with 2 other adults so the doors aren't opened and closed a lot, can't imagine if I had Littles going in and out all day! Love the design though, except the freezer pull outs, the fronts fall off easily. Just do yourself a favor as I'm currently defrosting this thing after being gone a week and coming home to the STINK in the fridge..... DO NOT BUY IT!

Horrible, very unsatisfying experience. Poor food keeping capacity, water filter is expensive, dispenses very little water, it needs replacing often. Handles came apart and required tech visit. Interior lights stopped working. It is just a less than capable unit compare with the one it replaced which was also a Kitchenaid and keep as second refrigerator in my garage.

Good for one year

I would give zero stars but that’s not an option-we bought the entire set-fridge/over range microwave/dishwasher/gas range-oven. The gas cooktop middle(griddle) burner worked for a month tops. The dual oven (top) stopped working at about 9 months. Fridge is fine but ice maker stopped working at exactly almost 13 months-freezer is now off and on with temp and is making a hideous noise when door is open. The freezer drawer fronts broke off within the first 2 months. Dishwasher is fine. Microwave under light bulbs went out in 6 months -used warranty service from 60 minutes away because no service location closer. Tech said this was a common problem. I cannot replace the bulbs myself because of access/tool

Just Terrible

I bought this in November 2024 and the manufacturing quality is terrible. Kitchenaid was my go-to kitchen appliance but not anymore. Both doors on the fridge have white foam insulation bulging out the top and mostly the bottom of the doors. I had the place I bought it from order new doors to be replaced. Guess What? The replacement doors were worse than the doors on the fridge. White foam caked on them. New door out of the box! Let's just say that KitchenAid quality control is nonexistent!

Don't purchase if you want frozen food

We are on a replacement for the original that never worked. We received it the end of May 2024 and it seemed so good. Worked quietly as was intended. But now, less than a year later the freezer is randomly doing an extended defrost the same as the first. The unit is closed and has been. Then suddenly the freezer starts making a very loud noise. I look at the thermometer and it shows -5 as is set. But the noise continues and the temperature starts to rise and frost starts to build. Berries seems to soften. The noise is terrible and continues. Approximately 10 minutes later the temperature has increased to 10+ degrees in the freezer even though I have it set at -5. Noise continues and about 30+ minutes later the noise stops and the freezer is back to -5 degrees. I have the temperature set at -5 rather than 0 so when it does this it doesn't get even higher. I have a call in for the appointment, but I suspect the technician will not be able to do anything. He wasn't with the last one and came out 3 times. I am so disgusted by this. This is a faulty design or part and I am sure Kitchenaid knows about it. I would give no stars if an option.

We bought complete suite for our kitchen. The dishwasher is rusting and the service contract says it’s only cosmetic so no fix. The fridge has been nothing but issues with electronic issues and we have had service replace the control panel. The fridge shuts down and we have to unplug and re plug to reset. We are calling for service again today after moving defrosting contents to our extra fridge. Truly sorry I purchased kitchen aid products and never will in the future

DON’T DO IT

I get it. It’s beautiful. It’s stunning. It’s the siren of refrigerators, luring you in with its good looks. Don’t fall for it. We’ve had this refrigerator for just four years, and it’s been one headache after another. I’ve had to completely defrost it multiple times because the freezer kept freezing over, and I’ve lost more food than I care to think about because of it. Thank goodness I bought the 5-year extended warranty, because otherwise I’d be furious about how much money I would’ve spent on repairs by now. They’ve already replaced the entire cooling system, and now they’re replacing the whole ice maker system too. For something this expensive, I expected a lot better than major repairs after only a few years. Honestly, just buy the cheapest refrigerator that has the features you want. I made the mistake of thinking that spending more meant I was getting better quality and reliability. Apparently not. If a premium brand like KitchenAid can need a new cooling system and ice maker within four years, then what’s the point? It feels like they’re all built with the same disposable mindset these days—some just come with a much bigger price tag. Sure, it looks amazing in my kitchen. That’s what got me too. But at this point I’d rather have an ugly refrigerator that actually works. When this thing finally dies—and honestly, I’m only giving it another year—it’s headed straight to a rage room where it can fulfill its true purpose.

Awful Quality

I really wanted to like this refrigerator, but the quality is just not good. It's only 5 years old and I've had it repaired 3 times already and now, less than 2 months after the last repair, the issue still exists. The back of the freezer frosts over and the ice maker stops working. How many times can you replace the Evap motor / sensor and heater coil before you call this a lemon? I am done with Kitchenaid / Whirlpool, the dishwasher that I bought with the refrigerator has also needed to be repaired.

Great features, terrible reliability

We loved the space and features that this refrigerator had to offer. As of now, we've had it about 4.5 years and it has had continued issues from the second year on. The freezer stopped staying cold consistently which required the control and power boards to be replaced (luckily under extended warranty). This took almost 3 months due to parts shortages. The issue occurred again a year later, determined to be an issue with the defrost cycle and another lengthy troubleshooting issue with logging thermometers installed. Just last night the LEDs on the on the ceiling of the fridge stopped working. After some troubleshooting, the Aurora LED driver board was humming and has had a failure. For what is supposed to be their best in class fridge I expect better. I have owned budget units in the past that have went 10-15 years without a service call. I also have a Subzero in another house that has been running since 1987 and only had a defrost timer and one compressor replaced. There is nothing new or novel with keeping food cold that we haven't been making for over 100 years. Do better on product design and component quality control!

If i could rate a negative, I would! I'd always heard Kitchenaid products were the top of the line. Mine isn't. If you want a refrigerator that goes out several times a day and night, the parts to repair it are on factory back order, then this is your refrigerator! All Kitchenaid did is sell me an extended warranty for a refrigerator they don't have parts for.

This fridge is trash

The fridge is trash. They do not stand by their product at all. Our fridge is not even three years old. The condenser and condenser coils freeze up in a block of ice within two weeks. It has caused significant damage to our kitchen floor. We have had to throw out food because it wont keep things in the freezer frozen and will stop cooling the fridge. Avoid this fridge and KitchenAid refrigerators at all costs.

We purchased all Kitchenaid appliances for our kitchen and they all failed within the first couple of years. This fridge has been a total nightmare. We had issues almost immediately while under the regular warranty and then purchased the extended warranty. Kitchenaid send technicians that had no clue how to fix things. They would simply replace something (whatever they had in their truck), reset the motherboard and then the issue would resurface within weeks. The freezer constantly froze, we had the compressor replaced, defrosting elements, motherboard, the list goes on and nothing ever fixed this fridge. It ruined our hardwood floors, as did the kitchenaid dishwasher. DO NOT BUY!!!! Kitchenaid will not honor their warranties or stand by their products.

Great choice for a year or 2...but not long term

We've owned for about 5 years now and will have to replace soon. Yes, it still works but not 100%. We've had to replace the ice bucket assembly as an ice clog broke a hole in the old one and it would clog up the works by getting ice under the bucket. The left hand crisper drawer has an electronic control panel for humidity control but it is located right under the water/ice lever and when you get moisture when water or melted ice leakes below (because for whatever reason the ice/water backwall and ledge are not one piece so there is a seam) it WILL short out that board very easily and cannot be repaired!! Lastly, the plastic the freezer drawers are made from are thin and break very easily. We've had to remove the top one as it kept popping off the guide rails. Also, EVERY handle on this thing will get loose and good luck finding the right allen wrench to get UNDER the handle to tighten them as that allen head on the sides in red is just for those caps and not the handle!!

Purchased in July 2019 and have had multiple issues over the last 14 months. It started with freezer temperature issues. Third party repair company replaced a motor fan. Top interior lights stopped working and ice maker stopped working. Replaced ice machine. More fridge and freezer temperature issues. Third party repair company determined that there was a freon leak and indicated it was time to replace the fridge. I'm shopping for new fridges now and am surprised that KitchenAid is still selling this model. Reviewing the one star ratings I'm seeing a common theme.

Component freezed up had to have it replaced, and once faulty component replaced less than 6 months motor noisy and ready to replace the entire refrigerator rather than throwing more money at this piece of garbage. Missed the lawsuit deadline re the failure of this frig. Don’t buy .

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances for our new home that we moved into in September. I had high hopes. Love the features of this fridge. The ice maker made ice once. It has not worked since October. Called to schedule service. Took weeks to get a new ice maker replacement. Installed last week. Doesn't work. Now the freezer is not freezing. I contacted Customer Service. Was able to schedule another appointment for December 26! So, we will go through all the holiday gatherings with a new very expensive refrigerator that has no ice maker and no freezer.

LEMON Model

I’m on my 3rd refrigerator since 2018. The ice maker stops working, the freezer and refrigerator stops cooling and the food is ruined. I’ve lost count of the repairmen who’ve tried to repair the problem. My first two refrigerators were Whirlpool. In 2022 the 2nd refrigerator was replaced with this Kitchenaid model that had the same design.

Horrible, gradual failure of fridge

We have had this model less than 5 years. In the first year, the ice-maker would not function with a filter in place. In the third year, the temperature control in the deli/drinks/thaw drawer would not function. In the fourth year, the refrigerator failed. We bought a 5-year warranty, The repair company got it running for about 1.5 months after replacing the compressor, but if the ice maker was on the freezer wouldn't work. There was a pool of water under the two middle drawers. There is a crack in the back interior wall at the location of the water drain. Even with the new compressor, it was impossible to get the freezer to 0 degrees. We are almost at year 5, and now it has completely failed again. More food lost. Just a nightmare!

I purchased this refrigerator along with all other Kitchen Aid appliances for a new construction home approximately 6 years ago. After 4 years this refrigerator leaked water underneath and damaged my hardwood floors. Thankfully I had purchased an extended warranty. The appliance repair company only serves my city one day per week. I was having to wipe up water for about 6 weeks while the service technician made multiple trips for repairs. They finally concluded they could not repair the refrigerator and the warranty company shipped a new refrigerator which was the same one I had. Now about two years later the new refrigerator is not cooling properly. The technician has to order a fan and that will take several weeks to get, then schedule service call for the one day a week they service my area. Thanksgiving is approaching and I am hosting. So I cannot properly refrigerate food and have been completely inconvenienced and disappointed that another refrigerator has stopped working properly. It is unacceptable that the second refrigerator in a 6 year period has stopped working properly!!! This product is the worst refrigerator I have ever purchased. The quality is garbage. You would be better off purchasing a much less expensive appliance since it is likely to malfunction if it is a Kitchen Aid and you hopefully will not waste as much money as I did. Looks pretty but does not last.

Poor quality

We are now on our second one of this model. Beautiful refrigerator with a great design that we have enjoyed. However, both times they developed issues and after having technicians do repairs, problems continue. And both times the warranty company decided it was too costly to repair. When we first purchased this, we also purchased the matching stove, dishwasher and over the stove microwave. What a shame, previous Kitchenaid refrigerators were actually a good quality. Next fridge won't be a Kitchenaid.

Looks pretty, but quality is missing

Looks attractive for a fridge, but is of poor quality with design flaws. I've had this fridge since 2021. One of the major design flaws is the fact that the drawer control panel is directly below the water/ice dispenser. That control panel failed on me in a little over a year from incidental water spillages coming from the dispenser above. The ice maker fails and stops working all the time and we are surprised to wake up to little or no ice the next day because of it. I can eventually reset it by some combo of cutting the power to it and turning it back on and going into service mode on the fridge and forcing an ice harvest and forcing the trays to be refilled. It's just become apparent that ice through the door for a bottom freezer is just not a good idea. Now over the past few days, I'm getting a very loud buzzing noise likely from the compressor. I've scheduled service and I hope this is under warranty, but even prior to this, I've been waiting for this thing to give me a reason to take it to the curb and buy a different brand altogether. I also bought a matching KitchenAid dishwasher that completely died after a year and a half and the repair cost was going to be as much as a new dishwasher, so we opted for the latter route. For us, Kitchenaid did not deliver a quality product and quite frankly even though things have been out of warranty, we shouldn't be experiencing the problems we've experienced a year and a couple of months after purchase and they do not care. I'm hoping this recent buzzing noise is a compressor which is supposedly covered for 5 years, but we'll see I guess. I might be buying a new fridge sooner than I expected and it won't be Kitchenaid next time.

Looks great but didn't last for me

Although this refrigerator is great looking and loved the features of the outer drawers I had 2 of this exact model that lasted me a total of 5 years. The first unit started failing at 3 years first with the ice maker then the whole sealed system was failing with numerous tech visits to try to find out the issues. We lived out of ice chests for 1.5 months and finally after weeks of documentation Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid sent a replacement for free which was appreciated but I would have preferred a refund due to not being happy with this model. I knew this replacement was living on borrowed time and sure enough started failing at the 2 year mark. After 3 weeks of resetting the breaker box numerous times to literally reboot it's life, we decided to replace it with another brand. Please don't buy this model of refrigerator!

Freezer issues

I have bought 3 of these refrigerators in the last 10 years. The 1st worked perfectly. We loved it. So much so when we built our cabin up north we went all Kitchen Aid. The second results were poor at best. The second fridge was a lemon at best. Freezer couldn’t hold temp. We showed up this spring and there was 2” of ice and stuff we left in the bottom again. Against my better judgement we bought a 3rd. Same problems. Not a great freezer but the refrigerator part works well. My wife wanted to keep our appliances the same so we got rid of the “lemon” and bought yet another 3rd.. I know about the definition of insanity…. Yeah this one is screwing up too. Yikes!  Ice maker not producing.  Freezer no longer freezing the ice cream. Monday - Trusted repairman pulled machine out (1st time since being installed May of 2018) Freon was half of what it should have been.   Ice made one dump in next 24 hours - sad.  Ice cream still soft. Repairman said - what he was afraid of, Freon leak will continue - would be expensive/major repair. Really, really disappointed as this was the most I could afford to buy - now, I'm retired and 80yrs old and cannot afford either a new machine or costly repair.   I saw in the reviews, I'm not the only one the have had this issue. This is a Whirlpool Product, Issue with Defroster

Buyers be aware that overall this is a good product but while branded Kitchenaid, it is a Whirlpool product. I purchased this refrigerator in 2020. I initially had an issue with the water dispenser and it was serviced several times before being replaced as a lemon three months later. However, the replacement refrigerator has treated me nice over the last few years I just learned thatthere are known quality issues related to the freezer defroster and ice maker. The repair for this quality issue requires the entire freezer hardware to be replaced at fairly significant price. Be leary as I learned of this issue not too long after my limited parts warranty.

Such a Disappointment and Bad Decision!

I do not remember exactly how long we have had this refrigerator, but it has certainly not long enough for it to go out! Circa 2020 we remodeled our kitchen and got all matching KitchenAid appliances including a double oven, cooktop, telescoping downdraft vent, dishwasher, and this refrigerator (it is of note that the dishwasher door is also now problematic and will not stay latched; likewise, the vent can no longer lift/telescope itself without assistance). Several years ago, the left drawer (the meat/fish, drinks, greens/herbs, deli/cheese, thaw/marinate drawer) control panel went out; we just accepted that we would no longer be able to change the settings for the drawer and that it would be for drinks only. Subsequently, we have had this refrigerator repaired 4 times over the last 2 years, and today, on the 5th time we have had a service man out, we were told there is a coolant leak in the yoder loop and it is not repairable, I am very disappointed in this refrigerator and this whole line of appliances--the only thing that has not given us trouble is the double oven and the gas cook top.

I thought buying the top of the line KitchenAid would be a good choice. I will admit that I was warned that this particular fridge had issues. The repairman that came out to diagnose and order parts told me that he works on a lot of them and this model is the worst KitchenAid has ever made. That tells you all you need to know.

A very expensive junk that looks pretty but needs to be repaired once a year on average. I keep spending money for the same issue that keeps coming back after a few months. Water doesn’t drain properly and piles up under the drawers, as well as leaking inside the freezer. After a while the water under the drawers freeze and prevents the drawers from opening.

Pricey products that you can’t get serviced?

A mere four years ago we outfitted our entire new house with the whole suite of KitchenAid Appliances. We had an issue with a gas orifice on our six burner gas range that eventually got fixed, the two ovens and microwave have been fine, but this refrigerator has been an intermittent Royal Pain. One day the ice maker stopped working. After six weeks we got that replaced, but two months later it failed again. After about a month waiting for parts it suddenly started working again. The repair tech later told us it was probably not the ice maker itself but a water valve, but unfortunately his business was closing and he’d be unable to repair that. Fast forward a few months and all the lights in the “ceiling” of the refrigerator box just quit, as well as the freezer light, but the side lights in the refrigerator box are still functioning. Called the retailer for recommendations on a new service provider, was given two, but one doesn’t service this brand and one doesn’t work in our county. So I call KitchenAid, have to explain the whole problem to two reps in Tennessee and one in Louisiana, who ended up stating that there are NO authorized service companies in the whole state of Wisconsin, and to rub salt in the wound said “you’ll have to find someone yourself to repair this unit”. Really? They position their line as a higher quality level and price their products accordingly, but you can’t get them serviced? It’s not like these are low-end appliances that can just be dumped every four years. Lack of service is appalling for such pricey appliances. We’re not the most populous state but it isn’t Outer Mongolia.

Next came ice maker that stopped working. Needed parts replacement. This happened twice. Interior lights failed. Needed new electrical harness. .Water connection in rear gotten broken because it stick out and broke when pushed against wall. More water on floor and basement. Most recently ice got jammed in chute ... no ice. All required service calls from independent contractors

It had one problem after a couple years that was easy to fix (a wire was worn thru in the drawer and the lights wouldn’t turn on) but at 7 years the cooling system stopped working and there is no warranty after 5 years. Either the compressor leaked or something else but it’s at least a grand to repair.

Save your money. Won't last

Purchased our 5 door a couple months after getting married and moving into a home. It matched the existing appliances so we were willing to spend a bit more for "quality" and a matching set. At 5 years it stopped cooling. Technician ran every test on electrical system both through the on board diagnostic and through manually checking continuity on all lines. After a full day of testing the diagnosis of a leak in the sealed system was given; not repairable. I was told this model has this known issue from the manufacturer and after reading a lot online I agree. Calling customer service they offered a 20% discount on purchases from their website. Unacceptable for a product sold for a high price despite knowing they have this issue. My wife is a dietitian and chef and babies her appliances. This fridge was maintained religiously and all the effort was wasted because of a known issues from the manufacturer. Give your money to a company that will put out a product they will stand behind. Not one that dishes out known lemons and offers nothing in quality or customer service

We redid our kitchen a few years back, and used all matching Kitchenaid black stainless apliances. This refrigerator has be nothing but trouble. The freezer won't defrost, so about once a month, I have to remove freezer door, and all of the drawers, and inside panel, to manual defrost it. It has become so bad, that I leave a thermometer in the freezer so I know when I need to take it apart. Also, the refrigerator will randomly stop working (no lights or fan), and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It also makes some weird pumping noise alot. not sure what that's about. Very dissapointing, considering how expensive this refrigerator was.

Unfortunately, we purchased this unit along with the dishwasher and combo convection micro+oven 6-7 years ago. While we've had some issues with the seals on the dishwasher, our main problem has been with this fridge. I saw another reviewer state they also experienced this but we also have experienced rusting on the back of the unit where the coil is and standing water under the two pull-out drawers. Really disappointed this is happening to such a young (and expensive) refridgerator.

Nightmare after ~ 1.5yrs

Extremely disappointed in the reliability of the refrigerator. It has all the nice features but we constantly have issues. When we bought it <2yrs later both radiators had to be replaced due to a coolant leak. The temperature sensor was designed in the wrong location so the refrigerator radiator iced up and as a result the temperature never got cold enough. The LED lights in the refrigerator stopped working and had to be replaced. The freezer door drawers (both of them) front panels don't fit correctly and when you try to open the drawer the panel comes off. Now we have been dealing with the open door alarm for over a year and no one (2 repair guys) can fix it. It's been a nightmare. If you get 1 that does what it's supposed to do it's a really nice refrigerator.

The ice maker is 1000% terrible, very bad design and the ice hopper capacity is just not what we were expecting. I have a family of 5 and we are very active and drink a lot of cold drinks with ice. Our old kitchen aid from 2008 was 10000% better than this one. This refrigerator will end up in the garage due to this we are very unsatisfied and yes the max ice feature has been enabled since day one. . The good is that it does have very good features and space in freezer and fridge space.

Extremely disappointed in this product. After just 2 years, this refrigerator would intermittently shut down and re-start itself after 30 minutes or so unless you physically disconnected and then re-connected the power to get it started again. Contacted Kitchen-Aid and they recommended an authorized repair company to look at it. The repair company’s best advice was that since the “probable” needed part was not covered by the warranty anyway, just wait until the unit shuts down completely and buy a different brand of refrigerator. What a waste of my money.

My wife bought i very first home 2 years ago. We decided to purchase this refrigerator due to all the good things we heard about kitchenAid and there products. 2 years after purchasing this fridge it started making an awful noise and stopped throwing out cold air in both the fridge and freezer . We found out that the coils were frozen so we end up manually melting it and hoping that it was fixed . For 2 years now we have been having the same issue , even tho the point that we have paid appliance techs to come out to diagnose the issue . At first they thought it was the defroster timer, but after replacing that part the issue continued . They said it could be the mother board which is expensive to replace. I am ready to give up on this fridge that we spent alot of money on and go to another brand . After doing some research there are many homes with the same issue that I am describing . Unfortunately i think this will be are last kitchenAid product

We bought this fridge (along with a whole kitchen's worth of other matching appliances) back in 2019. We had constant trouble with the refrigerator, as the refrigerator side evaporator would freeze into a giant block of ice, and then quit cooling. After griping enough, our local appliance dealer replaced the unit with another of the same make/model in late 2020. Since then, we've had nothing but trouble with the replacement! It intermittently shuts off and has to be unplugged/replugged to restore power. Recently, it quit making ice, and the freezer was warm. Now it has basically quit cooling altogether. Repair technician says it's an issue with the sealed system and would cost nearly as much to repair as a new fridge would cost. So that's two failed units within about 4 years' time. Don't buy this product!

Barley a year old and already not properly working

bought two and within the first year and a half have led issues, water leaking from one and ice make inop. Warranty service provider won't even work on them because they say Kitchenaid has no fix for them. Very displeased.

Refrigerator developed a cooling malfunction in 5 months of purchase. Whirlpool did not provide repair service. Left it to me to find someone. Remains to be seen if repair parts will be provided and repair labor reimbursed. This is the second Kitchenaid product to fail less than a year.

freezes up constantly

I bought this 4 years ago and am looking to replace it. It constantly freezes in the top, drawer broke, and the water is slow because of the freezing. I basically run it for 2 months, then empty it, let it defrost for 2 days, and then repeat. The trim for the shelves popped off, and the handles come loose regularly

Bought this refrigerator a little over a year ago and I am fed up with the loud noise when it turns on. At times it is almost like a single prop airplane flying overhead. Am about ready to do a kitchen remodel and am seriously considering dumping this refrigerator. Have read where others have had the same problem. Seems like Kitchenaid would put some padding somewhere to the gross vibrations.
