The refrigerator is very nice, but feels not as heavy duty as a larger refrigerator. Lighting is very bright, ice maker works well and I like the in-fridge digital display. I was disappointed that the black stainless was not fully wrapped without choosing and paying for that option.that was not an obvious decision at purchase.overall, a nice model with some drawbacks.

Very adjustable shelves!

After having had this refrigerator for 3weeks, I can say it has certainly met all my expectations. The shelves are extremely adjustable, which allows the space to be easily used for all sizes of items. Prior to this purchase, I have only had Kitchenaid dishwashers which have always proven to be long lasting, so I’m hoping this will be too.

Solid refrigerator with lots of shelf space

This refrigerator was *not* my first choice, I bought it because the space in my kitchen would not support my preferred brand. The inside aesthetics of this refrigerator remind me of an Amana I had in a condo purchased in 2007. The pros are there is a lot of space on the shelves and you can configure one of the shelves to accommodate taller items. The cons are that the water dispenser is inside the fridge and requires two hands to operate, but the water is icy cold and the shelves in the doors are not too deep. Also, there is a 1/2 inch gap in the back of the shelves to the back of the refrigerator, which could lead to items falling in between this crack (looks like a design deficiency to me). Otherwise, happy with this purchase.

My Darn Fine Kitchen - Refrigerator Edition

This fridge SAVED the day! I really wanted a French Door fridge with the freezer on the bottom. However the space I had to work with was narrower than the standard, but KitchenAid came through. The lid on the can drawer is genius, my parent's are jealous. I will say that the freezer fills up quickly. I'm a party of 1 and even thinking about getting a deep freezer in addition. So, there's that to consider. My new kitchen is beautiful; was a fun quarantine project for my dad and me (we make a great team). Couldn't be more happier with the KitchenAid appliances. They work sleek and now I'm all about this stainless steel business — easy to clean and very posh!

I love everything about this fridge. It’s so elegant outside. So easy to clean. The size is great- I could have even gone deeper but as a first time fridge purchaser I think I did good! Even though the freezer may look small, I’m able to get a lot of food in there. I love the inside water. It’s a great fridge and so happy I chose it! Way to clean with stainless steel wipes.

I have had this fridge for not quite year. It is not the one I picked out because the contractor had the wrong specs for the cabinet but it is the one I ended up with. I cook a lot and entertain a lot, so the fridge it always pretty packed. I am a little disappointed with how the drawer shelf droops a little in the middle and I still have not figured out that slide back half shelf or truly the best way to organize stuff but it seems to do a good job overall. I have found food frozen at the back of the fridge with the setting at the number suggested by Kitchenaide. I also don't like that there isn't a place for eggs, but they do go on the shelf just as well I guess. Everyone love my water dispenser. I am still getting use to the lower freezer and how to pack it properly and efficiently. Not a huge fan of cleaning the stainless because it really never completely cleans but other wise it looks great. Loved the study feeling handles instead of some of the shotty plastic ones on other fridges.

Good looking exterior

Love the look and feel of the exterior. So far working well. The interior components are surprisingly cheap and flimsy feeling and looking. Really some of the worst I’ve ever experienced . The layout is nice. I was also shocked that there’s exposed styrofoam glued to the back of the fridge. Just So tacky. The exterior is so nice looking though I decided to keep it.

This model replaces our old Samsung Piece of you-know-what. The repair guy recommended this brand as something reliable and repairable. It seems larger than our old one, but it is not. It is organized better shelf-wise.

So far I am happy with the frig. I'm enjoying the French door setup with bottom freezer. Both sections are quite spacious and well lit considering the smaller size frig. I am not thrilled with the water dispenser, because you need to hold a button down rather than just pushing the glass against a lever, so it would be a one-hand operation.

Shelving and fruit/vegetable bins not working smoothly. Very difficult to slide open and close drawers, Must use twin hands and lift and shift drawers into position to close also believe the bar supporting the front part of drawers is warped because it sags contents of drawer exposed between shelving and plastic bar support. Humidity in bins released in gap. Working on getting this adjusted.

Great for a smaller kitchen.

I downsized from the 29 cu.ft. Samsung Flex Bespoke to this smaller Kitchen Aid unit. PROS: 1) It fits inside the cabinet space, and the Samsung didn't; 2) it's handles, etc, match my Kucht dual fuel ranges anesthetics, 3) each shelf is adjustable, individually, side to side, so although I gave up about 5 cu.ft. of fridge space, it feels as though I have more room due to the flexibility in shelf spacing. 4) It has handles, instead of indented areas for door handles (the indentations collect debris, dirt, etc...nasty).It is very quiet,, cooled down quickly,, and is an absolutely aesthetic beauty. CONS: The interior finishes are unimpressive and 'cheapen' the unit, and the door on the deli drawer comes off its pegs easily.

I live Kitchenaid but these drawers are so stiff and difficult to pull out my other refrigerator the drawers are perfect and I had to have the door replaced because we all missed a dent the ice maker was not working The wire would not stop making ice so we had to shut it off then turn it on when we wanted ice the repairman was here this morning if it still acts up he will have to replace the unit

Great design inside and out !

The two doors are unequal in size, right door is wider than the left. At first you might think its some design manufacturing quirk but I am convinced its so that two full gallons can fit in the right door, if they made it equal neither door would hold 2 gallons at a time. I like the convenience of filtered water inside the fridge and the freezer compartments has good organization leading to accommodating more stuff. The big shallow drawer under the vegetable drawers is also a good design point, its used for all kinds of stuff in our household, tortillas, trays of chicken etc. From the outside the metal door handles look beautiful and sturdy plus they don't attract fingerprints.

The fridge is smaller than our previous fridge but is still functional. The water access inside the fridge is weird and we are still getting use to it. Price was more than I wanted to spend for a smaller fridge. Accessories inside the fridge are thin plastic and probably will break easily if not gentle while using them.

Runs well and is very quiet. The crisper drawers didn't slide very well because it's a plastic lip riding on a plastic channel so I had to buy food grade silicone to lubricate the drawers. The side of the refrigerator is grey and it should be stainless or offer a stainless panel. The stainless should have been fingerprint free stainless or offer that option.

I purchased a kitchenaid French door 33” fridge around Memorial Day. My previous Kitchenaid fridge was on its way out after 11 1-2 years of family wear n tear on the daily. I really like this one with the style & internal shelf ing, especially love the split shelf. I personally prefer a white fridge, but it wasn’t available in this model so I now have stainless steel but it’s fine since it compliments my range, also kitchenaid. I wish the steel was easier to maintain because it shows finger prints & the water dispenser button should be below the dispenser for convenience. It’s silly to me to have it above & then you have to use both hands for operation. Think how to work smarter not harder. But over all, happy with it.

My only complaints would be how easily the stainless steel collects finger.prints and the wire rack in the freezer drawer being difficult to pull out. Overall, very happy and would recommend.

Works as intended, hope it'll continue for decades

My mom and I bought this fridge as a replacement for a Kenmore fridge, similar with bottom freezer, because the compressor stopped cooling. I love the left side sliding shelf that can make room for taller objects. And the filtered water dispenser and the ice maker; I don't use them often so don't need them mounted outside the door. However a couple months after it was installed, the fridge and freezer lost its cooling ability one day. We had to put perishables into different appliances for several hours. Luckily the Kitchenaid recovered and it is working fine as of writing. We found that we may have overloaded the freezer too much and that might be the cause.

We did a kitchen remodel and replaced all appliances with kitchen aid black stainless products, we are loving them all. They look amazing, and are easy to clean up. Time will tell on the Craftsmanship and performance of the appliances, but right now, Loving them.

Great fridge for smaller 33 inch width opening

We like how our new Kitchen Aid refrigerator looks. Plenty of ice and cold water with a high flow while filling inside fridge. Very quiet so barely know that it is on. Some items can fall at the back of the shelf to the one below it which is not a big deal. Like the deli tray which pulls out and items are visible. Only way it could be improved would be if the crispers slid more easily.

Had this about a month, still getting used to it but I do like it French doors are different than what I was used to have to close left side before closing the right side. And not use to the noise it makes filling up water / ice machine. Also is there an automatic shut off for ice when filled.

Almost perfect

We bought a similar Kitchenaid refrigerator 10 years ago and loved everything about it except for one thing. Recently we moved and decided to update appliances. We bought a new Kitchenaid, and 10 years later, it still has the same problem. Occasionally the water dispenser freezes, and I have to take the produce drawers out in order to thaw it with a hair dryer. We love everything else about it. It's quiet, roomy and food is easy to access. We just don't know why Kitchenaid can't solve this one issue.

Great looking and fits our space

This fridge is a replacement that finally was granted after a year of trying to fix our original... We were thrilled to be approved for a replacement after several attempts over a years time to fix a slow freon leak. Luckily all the repairs and parts were covered under our warranty. Be sure to register your appliance and keep your proof of purchase :) We really like this fridge. Very few fit the spot in our kitchen these days. Our only complaints are how deep it is - things sometimes get lost in the back. This new fridge has drawers and shelves that seem to be a bit warped so things dont slide in and out easily. We should probably call about this. We like the freezer on the bottem with the ice maker as well as the water fill on the inside so the outside looks sleek and clean. MUST comment on how fantastic our delivery and installation guy was. Loved him! He was great with attention to detail and professionalism. BRAVO!

When I first plugged it in I wasn’t sure it was running. The interior shelves and lighting elevate it over the competition and the doors are so easy to open and not clunky like other refrigerators. KitchenAid was the only company that had appliances to fit into the lake house kitchen due to size issues and I’m glad because they have been incredible.

Only a week with it so far ; but we are extremely pleased with our new KitchenAid 22 cu ft. French Door Refrigerator. Very Quiet operation . All of the shelves are adjustable which is great . This replaced 15 year old KitchenAid that was still going strong . Hope this one lasts as long. Also Made in USA is big plus ( Amana Iowa ) . Amana invented the French Door Style Refrigerator back in the day so that location ( now Whirlpool owned ) knows how to build them to last .

I bought 3 weeks ago. I love it. It’s quiet, love that’s the water dispenser is inside. It’s very roomy compared to my old GE fridge. The only negative and that’s why I gave it 4 star instead of 5 is that you have to open both doors to get water dispenser to work and when you open the left door only to get something out light doesn’t go on. Light only goes on when right door opens

Beautiful but noisy

Just got it last week. Looks beautiful, cooled to temp in a few hours. Plenty spacious. Not fond of the different sized doors. Aesthetically it is fine but when trying to get water from the water dispenser it is a tight fit and awkward to use if you don't open both doors.

KitchenAid Refridgerator Installed Last Year

I love the organization/architecture of the refrigerator, the wine rack, crisper drawers and deli shelf/drawer. Easy to organize and find things, and surprisingly greater capacity than our old, single door fridge that occupied the exact same footprint. We also appreciate the "door ajar" alarm - such A good idea! And the other informational/Alert features are great as well. Additionally, the ice-maker was a first for us, and much appreciated. The unit works extremely well and has been solidly reliable. The one detractor for this fridge is the cold water spout. It delivers water at such an incredibly slow rate, one could drop from exhaustion just standing there waiting for it to fill a small glass! Water bottle? Forget about it. I have changed the filter, flushed the system, but no improvement. I think this is just how it performs, and that is a bit of a fail.

Bought this model 9 months ago and I am satisfied with the look and function. One downside for me is needing to open both French doors to fill up my glass because I have to use one hand to hold the glass and the other to press the button for water, otherwise I like the sleek, clean look and don't miss the outer water/ice dispenser and having to clean it. Not as easy for a left handed person to use. Also, if the door is left open and alarm goes off it's difficult to hear from another room because it's not very loud. Took me a while to get used to having a smaller freezer compartment but I have adjusted and easy to organize. This model has saved money on our electricity bill since it is has energy star rating. Freezer is nice with upper drawer and ice maker. Lower drawer of freezer would prefer not to have compartment separated but haven't tried to remove separation or know if it's possible to do so without compromising stability. This model keeps food cold and fresh and it is easy to clean. Overall pretty quiet except when making ice but not much difference compared to our old refrigerator. Other than the above mentioned feedback I would have given 5 stars. I would purchase this model again and recommend it to others for a family size of 3 (adults) or less.

Our fridge is just great. My only complaint is that you must open BOTH doors to access the little drawer that holds your lunch meats, cheeses & other small things. The designers need to seriously design the little drawer featuring separate Lids to lift either side instead of having to open the entire lid. It's a real hassle. !!

This refrigerator replaced my 25-year old KitchenAid (which was still working) when I remodeled my kitchen. I like the arrangement of the shelves and drawers but am disappointed with the flimsy feel and performance of the lower drawers and wish they were made of metal or a sturdier plastic. The freezer is roomy, in spite of the ice maker.

Great appliance But...

Everything works great except for the lights switch to the left hand door. It's suppose to come on when you open the door but it decided not to work about 5 months after the refrigerator was installed. The water dispenser won't work if the light comes on so you have to manually turn it on if you want to see in the fridge and/or get cold water. It's not a problem doing it manually but if I'm going to pay the price, I darn well want it to work.

Holds all we need and more

We bought this refrigerator 10 months ago to replace one that I loved. I've found this new refrigerator to be more than I expected - love this one! There is a lot of room, more than one thinks.. The cheese drawer is great; the bottle rack helps keep those uprights out of the way; the door shelves are roomy. My husband loves the cold water dispenser just inside the left door. Ice maker works great; freezer holds a lot. Just a great all around appliance. We are limited to a specific size space for the refrigerator and this fits perfectly. It's easy to move for cleaning underneath and behind it once a year.

Good, but one annoying thing.....

Outstanding customer service

I have had this for almost a year now, because my previous model started leaking freon and needed to be replaced. Kitchen Aid did a great job honoring the warranty, providing prompt service people to keep it going until the replacement arrived. All at the start of the pandemic in March 2020. They communicated with me regularly and did everything within their power to resolve it quickly and were always professional. All of my small appliances are KitchenAid, and now any of my large items that need to be replaced will be with KitchenAid. The fridge is easy to clean, and all of the drawers and shelves are easy to remove and replace. The freezer space is ample for my family of five and the ice is quick to replenish. The only suggestion I would have is to add a little more lighting. I find that the light in the top of the fridge can be blocked with product and then there isn't light to diffuse to the lower shelves. Maybe something on the sides? Is it possible to have recessed lighting in a fridge? ;)

Very functional

Well laid out. Love refrig shelf that can be pushed back so that I can stand up tall bottles now and then. Lots of functional space in cabinet and doors. Meat/cheese drawer on bottom seems to hold much more than previous refrig. Max ice button is nice when getting ready for party, When I have taken everything out to clean it, the Max Cool is a nice feature to get everything cooled down again. Wishes: louder door open alarm or a two step alarm (louder if you don't hear it the first time). There are lots of us with hearing loss, tinnitus or the TV on in the kitchen. All three are true for me. :-( I saw a refrig with LED lighting down the side which made it easier to find stuff even when the refrigerator is very full. I put a little spray silicone on the 3 hinges for the flap that goes between the two doors when it closes and now find the left door left open less of the time.

It took FOREVER (over 3 months) to get this thing, but I'm so happy with it. I'm not used to a drawer freezer, so I'm still figuring out how to organize it. The fridge is so spacious. It was great for holiday baking. It fits large bowls of salad or cookie dough. The layout is very easy to organize. I love it!!

Perfect fit

We had to buy this fridge sight unseen due to covid. It fits our space in the kitchen perfectly. The one we had previously when we moved in was way too big. I really like the flexibility of the shelves in the fridge area. My biggest pet peeve is that you have to use 2 hands to get water out of the spout, which is already kind of annoying since you have to open the door to get it. It would be ideal to be able to just push your glass against a button and water comes out, but there's probably a reason for it being a button above the spout that you have to push with your other hand that's not holding the glass or cup. You also have to be sure to push the left-hand fridge door closed, there's no walking away while you bump it closed with your hip and it'll swing the rest of the way closed. The freezer is nice too. The drawers hold more than you realize, even if you do have to move things around sometimes to get to things at the bottom. They slide open and closed easily.

I particularly enjoy the design of the refrigerator, the interior water dispenser and the storage capacity. I am concerned with the quality because the refrigerator doors initially had stains which were difficult to eliminate. Also, water condenses at the bottom of the refrigerator doors and around the freezer door.

Modern, beautiful, lots of features, noisy

I love almost everything about this refrigerator. It's a dreamy color (almost like a dark mink brown) and very spacious. Love the wine rack, split shelf, adjustable door racks, wide pantry drawer and bottom freezer. The vegetable and fruit drawers are small, but that's minor. The main downside is that the refrigerator runs constantly and is noisy. Granted, we have a small house, but it's noticeably louder than the small 1997 Roper it replaced. I've noticed the refrigerator has literally run all day long today. Doors are fully shut with fridge set to 39 and freezer to 0. I can hear it loudly whirring from the next room. The refrigerant knocks really loudly through the appliance. We don't use the icemaker and have it turned off (arm fully up). It is not warm outside (cool front - 75 degrees all day). The space around the appliance is adequate and clear. It's level. It's not overstuffed, we haven't put anything warm in it, and the doors aren't opened frequently. I did not think it was normal for a modern energy-efficient refrigerator to run loudly for hours, but it is cooling fine. It just now kicked off while I was writing this review - it kicked on around 7:30 a.m. (announced by the knocking of the refrigerant). If it ran like this at night and was quiet during the day, maybe I could deal better with it. Despite the noise, this brand and model the best refrigerator for our space and budget.

We needed to buy a new refrigerator because our three year old LG quit working and couldn’t be repaired. We researched several brands and decided on this KitchenAid model. We are glad we did! It has an internal water dispenser and ice maker. While not as convenient as an external dispenser, the water is colder and the ice maker is exceptional. This is a great product and it’s made in the USA!

Overall I like my new refrigerator. The freezer is great. The controls are wonderful. I love the look of the handles on the outside. I only gave 4 stars due to the produce bins. They are small and short. I constantly pull them out when I go to open them and they are too small to handle my veggies. It would have been a better design to put the meat cheese drawer above the fruit veg drawers so the latter could be deeper.

Biggest small refrigerator I’ve owned

My maximum width available is 33 inches maximum. So finding a thirty two inch refrigerator Is hard to find. When I found my Kitchen Aid I was ecstatic. I know very well the quality of Kitchen Aid products. I’ve had a Kitchen Aid dish washer for fourteen years and it’s as quiet and dependable as the I purchased it. Good job team Kitchen Aid. I’m a customer for life.

Every thing we asked for

Do to COVID19 we went without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks. We ordered a new one the day our old one broke, the day before delivery we were informed it was on backorder until August. We called the local Maytag dealer and he indicated he had a KitchenAid that he could deliver the next day. This refrigerator is almost the same as our old one with a lot of nice updates. Very quite nice big handles, all the space we need and we like the water dispenser inside. We highly recommend this refrigator.

We bought our French Door refrigerator last month, and I was curious to see how transitioning from a top-freezer model to a French door would work. We're please! It's so much easier to find refrigerated foods, especially the cold cuts and cheeses in the special drawer. (Though I wish the drawer was two side-by-side drawers, like the two crispers.) Not quite sure how I feel about a bottom freezer, but we are very impressed with the ice maker and the easy-access interior water dispenser. It's great to have filtered water and ice made with filtered water.

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen (refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. Everything seems to be working great. We purchased the (what I call slate gray) stainless steel. It is a nice contrast to our white cabinets and does not seem to have finger print issues like the standard stainless steel.

Quiet and well organized

We've spent about a month with our new fridge and it is performing great. Much quieter than our last model. Settings are easy to manage and adjust. We don't have it hooked up to water, but that attachment is easy and the shut-off for it is too. No drips or leaks at all. Holds temp very well and manages moisture/humidity excellently. Food's keeping longer and interior is staying cleaner. The interior of both the fridge and freezer are well designed and organized; it's easily handling the demands of a family of three that cooks at home a lot. Good fit for an odd shaped space in our kitchen. Also, we didn't expect a stainless steel appliance to be magnetic, but it is so. So, it's lovely finish is already almost completely covered in kid's pictures and bric-a-brac. Overall, it's a solid fridge. Interested to see how it stands up to years of use, but so far I'm not worried about it at all.

Very quiet

I had to replace an old refrigerator which had a fairly small footprint. I found this Kitchen Aid model would fit the available space. Consumer Reports rated it quiet, and it certainly is. The kitchen is part of a great room, and this refrigerator is not always easy to hear. The lights are very bright inside, which helps to see everything on the shelves. The meat drawer runs the width of the refrigeration compartment and holds a lot, though you do have to open both doors wide to access it. My only disappointment is the depth of the crispers, as I am a vegetarian and used to have much more storage for fruits and vegetables in my old refrigerator. The freezer stores all that I need. Overall, I am very happy with this model and would recommend it.

Why Don't They Make One Without Water & Ice?

I had to buy this model if I wanted it to match the rest of my new appliances. Unfortunately it doesn't come without a hook up for water & ice. I don't have a water line running to my fridge, so the big ice maker, water filter and spout take up valuable space and are useless to me. I love the big drawer at the bottom of the fridge, though it is disappointing that you have to open both doors to open it. The big drawer slides well, but the other two drawers don't move in their tracks smoothly. I almost have to use two hands to close them so they go in straight. One of the glass shelves is split in half (front to back), but I don't know why. What I do know is that things get caught on the split and I've had a few near spills.

Only issues are trying to make rhyme or reason out of there parts diagram. two trays came with scratches and the bins did not have the rubber mats. when ordering what seems to be the only ones available they are the wrong sizes. The fridge runs quite and keeps things at temp.

I bought this a month ago. 2 glass shelves were broken. Interior design is not the most efficient use of space. The slide out deli drawer wastes door space in it's design. Crisper bins are not as solid as they should be. Design has styrofoam in the back to seal. Not a great design. Other shelves seem short.

I was replacing a 27 year old Hotpoint side-by-side refrigerator that had served me well. In researching for a 33" wide fridge to fit the space, the options were limited. I don't like the look of white refrigerators with the white "plastic-looking" handles. This refrigerator looks awesome with its textured stainless handles. We are still getting used to all the space inside at eye level. The freezer on the bottom is a little tricky to get used to. We put a small metal scoop in the ice bin to make it much easier to dish up ice cubes.

Sweet Refrigerator

Bought this a month ago to replace a Frigidaire side-by-side that was not keeping it cool any longer. Had to have a 33 inch wide model, and there are not many to choose from. I like the French doors; everything in the refrigerator is at standing height, unlike a side-by-side. Bright LED lighting too. Full width bottom drawer is handy and the the door shelves and interior shelves are adjustable, including a glass one on the right that slides back for tall items. The crisper drawers are flimsy, do not slide easily, and tend to catch on the humidity lever. Freezer on bottom is not a problem. Get into the fridge more that the freezer. Ice maker works well. Water dispenser inside the refrigerator on the left is a bit inconvenient to use, as it requires two hands, unlike a dispenser on the outside of the freezer door. Water is cold though. I have two thermometers in opposite corners of the refrigerator. Both say it is colder by 3-4 degrees that what the refrigerator is set on. Had to turn the refrigerator up as some food was freezing. The stainless steel front is magnetic, as are the painted steel sides. Looks nice, runs quietly.

Great, Reasonable Sized Fridge, feature filled!

We bought this fridge about a month ago after our 2011 GE Cafe fridge prematurely died (we probably had service calls every year on it). This fridge is a good compromise between a full size 36" fridge (where food gets lost in the back) and a counter-depth fridge (which is slightly too small for us). We like: interior filtered water; lots of storage on the doors, the retractable shelf for tall items and the full width crisper drawer. The handles are very sturdy too. It's very quiet too (except when ice maker is refilling or filtered water is refilling, but that's only for a few seconds). And Made in USA (unlike the aforementioned expensive GE Cafe that died after 8 years and numerous repairs).

Purchased this summer, replacing a 9 year KA model. Love the design/size/color (black stainless). Our kitchen is small, we needed a specific fit; this model fit the opening perfectly. Purchased from a photo, was a bit disappointed in the quality of the interior refrigerator veg drawers & runners. They are of thinner plastic. We have no kids living here so perhaps they will be ok, but definitely not good with hard use by children. The bottom freezer drawer drops a bit on the left when opening. Called the store & replacement runners were installed. It still is dropping. Store to call rep & get back to us. Admittedly not the experience we have had in the past, but still like KitchenAid, their look, features. Wish they had kept the interior's quality the same & as for the bottom freezer drawer, we are crossing our fingers that this gets repaired.

We had to buy a new refrigerator very quickly because our old one (we got 31 years) stopped working. So I looked at several different refrigerators, I really did not know what I really wanted. I knew that I did not really want any with the ice and water in the door. So when I saw this one and saw that it has the water dispenser in the refrigerator and not in the door and that the ice maker is in the freezer I was really happy. I could get these two features and still have the use of both doors in the refrigerator.

The 33' refrigerator does not have symetrical design. One door is bigger than the other so the french doors seem is not down the middle. This was not stated to us, and I was surprised when it arrived. I actually thought we had a freak, but went to the store and was told that is how they make the narrower refrigerator. I wonder why?

In love with the bottom freezer and great ice maker capacity. Only disappointment thus far is the inside cold water. You need to hands to access it and it is a bit awkward versus just pr4essing glass against the button for access. Stainless steel easy clean. Wipe with soap and water. Polish with Stainless Steel cleaner once a week.

We had a Kitchen Aid refrigerator for 32 years with no problems. We bought a new one for the bottom freezer feature. Within 3 months the ice maker quit and then the water stopped working. 2 service calls to fix the ice maker and now waiting for part to fix the water. One door seal failed along with the ice maker. We spent the extra money for a Kitchen Aid unit due to previous 32 years with no problems and sold it as working unit. Apparently nobody makes anything like they used to. Hopefully we will get 10 years out of it.

design flaws

The vegetable / fruit drawers do not slide smoothly and the plastic framework seems flimsy, not sturdy. We had the company we bought the refrigerator from send back an installer to do a rebalance because the doors were swinging open to quickly and we were concerned about the door hinges. They also had reached inside to check foam in back (that we now know is supposed to stay in place) In the process the shelf above the lower drawers is bowed. Not level as the photo shows. Is this normal? They said they ordered a new shelf, but we've yet to receive it.

Love the new fridge, but....

We like the new fridge very much, its appearance, its ability to keep everything cold, the control panel and the huge amount of space there is inside. All great! Thanks. There are however two design flaws that are annoying. 1. The cheese drawer can not be opened unless both main doors are opened. The lid on the cheese door comes into contact with both the right and left door preventing opening unless both outer doors are opened. 2. Both vegetable drawers can "fall out" when they are being opened if they are not carefully and slowly opened. The "catch mechanism," or the "stop" on the top of each drawer does not adequately engage with the corresponding "stop" on the left and right guide rails. Note: Our previous refrigerator that was also manufactured by Whirlpool has the same vegetable and cheese drawer design and the problems listed in #1. and 2. above did not happen. Other than those two issues the fridge was a good purchase.

The two vegetable drawers do not fit their spaces well and are wobbly and hard to close and open. There seems to be no rails or guides for them to slide on. 2. The ice maker works great. But the arm that raises when the ice bin is full will not stay in that upright position. So when you open the freezer door far enough to scoop out some ice, that arm scrapes across the accumulation of ice and it pushes numerous cubes back and under the drawer because of the wire shelving under the bin. In one month, I have had to get down on my hands and knees on the kitchen floor and reach in and under the wire drawer to remove the ice cubes accumulating on the floor of the freezer, not a pleasant chore for anyone (I'm 78 years old). 3. One of the dividers in the freezer drawer on the other side of other freezer is inserted in such a way that I can neither remove it or put anything in the back of that drawer...it has become 'dead' space, useless to put anything in or out of about a 1/3 of the drawer. Mechanically, the refrigerator is doing its job. All of these problems I've outlined could be fixed with a little more customer friendly upgrade in parts and design.

Refrigerator

A few things to consider for future design changes. I’m right-handed and would much rather get water from the right side of the refrigerator. It’s awkward and inconvenient to have to open the right door in order to open the left door in order to get water. I don’t like the fact that I’ve got to open the right door in order to open the left door. I absolutely do not like stainless steel doors and wish they were a mat finish like the sides of the refrigerator. This refrigerator is louder than I was expecting. The produce drawers are very cheap and are difficult to slide in and out.

I wish I could say I loved it but I don't! The shelves do not go all the way back so items fall of if you wanted to have items all the way back on each shelf. Also I don't know what condiments or items they plan on you putting in the side shelfs but they are not tall enough to utilize 3 shelfs on each side with out bumming the item you are taking out on the top of the shelf each time. All in all I would never buy this fridge again!

Would not pay full price---buy on discount

For something so expensive, the design could use some work. The crisper drawers are rough to close and feel flimsy, and the wine bottle rack keeps falling out of its grooves with the slightest bump. The partitions in the freezer just get in the way, so I had to remove some of them to make the freezer drawer more versatile in what can fit there. The water dispenser in the fridge sometimes drips for no apparent reason. The door shelves are kind of small and it is sometimes necessary to play fridge tetris to fit everything we need to in it. Other than that, it keeps food cold, the shelves in side the fridge can be moved around a bit so you can fit what you need, and it looks nice. I would definitely only buy if you can get a discount, like with the Whirlpool Insider Pass. I can't really compare this to other modern refrigerators, and from what I hear they are all kind of going to crap and are probably all not worth the price (planned obsolescence), but KitchenAid used to be a really good name in appliances. Not sure they are worth the hype any more.

We had limited options because of narrow space available, and this model fit into the space. We wish there was an option with a flat front instead of the slightly curved/bowed doors. One complaint we have is that the interior water dispenser button is above the spout, which forces you to use two hands to fill a glass; if the button was below the spout you could fill using one hand, which would be more convenient. We would have appreciated a user manual to explain the intended or best way to use the different drawers in the refrigerated section. Otherwise, the refrigerator works fine and we are happy with it...

This unit replaced a 20 year-old top freezer unit that just ran. The bottom freezer/split doors takes some getting use to but seems to be OK. My big complaint is how amazingly inaccurate the temperature controls are. Setting the temp at 37 gets you frozen food in the refrigerator section, so I currently have it set at 43. What's with that? It would never fly in a commercial system.

This is a good refrigerator, but doesn't work well in our space. I find it very inconvenient to have 2 doors. Because it's a thin model, you can't fit anything wide through the left side door. You have to open both doors in order to put anything on the left side. So, it runs well, but I don't really care for it. I wish I could return it and get a model with one door on the top.

Does not have the "Satin Glide" feature on the crisper drawers, they really don't function well at all. I'm still moving shelves around to find the best layout for us. But one true warning...the edges on the shelves are SHARP! I've cut myself 3 times in the last 6 months reaching in to get something. I really wish I'd chosen a different fridge.

This is a decent fridge for the money except for the high pitched noise it makes from time to time. Also the lower slidding crisper with the pop-up lid is poorly designed. When I slide it open the lid falls off most of the time. I was able to temporarialy fix this by bending the plastic tabs on the hinge, but that is not likely to last.

French doors

Because of the hardness of the water in our area, we chose to not install the ice maker. There isn't good space to make ice. Space is limited. I do like how the top of the refrigerator is organized. It is easy to see what is in the refrigerator and it is easy to keep items organized even when cooking for visiting family.

Mostly good but... design needs work

Bout this a couple months ago and the crisper drawers have been very stingy to open since day one. As a result the slide bracket fell out and the shelf and drawer dropped on top of the bottom drawer. I refastened the screw twice before calling for a warranty service. they are replacing the troubled parts but a better design would have avoided the issue. Went back to the store and the floor model worked better. Other than that issue the refrigerator is good for the price. It is spacious and performs well. As with any French door/ bottom drawer units, you do need to make sure doors are closed and sealed completely to avoid condensation. The back of the fridge does also sometimes frost or freeze but not that frequent.

I did my homework and wanted a appliance that of better quality, sadly disappointed. The drawers are very cheaply made and don’t slide easily. The handles on the doors are loose . The ice maker doesn’t know when to stop and when you slide out the top drawer, where the ice cubes are they fall down the back and all over the place sometimes onto the floor sometimes into areas that you can’t reach. Rusting Stainless Steel!!!

I've had these appliances for 6 months and am very unhappy with how the stainless steel is aging. I noticed rust on the surface after cleaning the first time and hoped it was just a fluke. Nope! It's all over the surface of the fridge, especially bad by the handles and it's happening on our KitchenAid range as well. This photo was taken after scrubbing to try to get it off, which improved the appearance slightly, but clearly there's still rust there.

Do not buy, very cheap interior

Exterior looks and feels great, however, interior is VERY cheap. Drawers in particular. We got a Kitchen Aid going off the historical great quality and feel of their products, including what we saw in person in box stores of other models, but this one is cheap. One drawer already has a crack in the white plastic. The vegetable and fruit drawers are very thin and cheap feeling and will fall out if pulled too far. Our previous LG had nice slide feel, this does not. Our fridge was scuffed during install and the tech who came out to touch up the paint said this was also the cheapest Kitchen Aid product he has ever seen. We bought is off a website with a company to company discount and regret not seeing the product in person first. If we did, we would have not bought.

At this price point, compared to the competition, I expect Spill-Proof shelves with rear shelf lips to prevent items from falling in the back of the refrigerator, rubber liners in ALL the door bins, a one-hand dispenser, multiple temperature zone sensors, less flimsy drawer glides, and a freezer section ice-maker drawer that pulls out automatically. Also, the refrigerator section has temperature ranges from 40* top front down to 27* in the rear of the pull out drawer. One plus, and the reason for my purchase: zero clearance doors to the side wall.

Don't buy this refrigerator. I am limited by space in my kitchen and needed a 33" width, 31" depth machine. There are few to choose from. This refrigerator is noisy. It gurgles, whirs, and vibrates. It is overwhelming. This refrigerator has a shelf that doesn't stay in place, seemingly by design. This refrigerator has drawers that don't pull in and out smoothly. The entire thing feels cheap and I do not doubt that my issues with the unit will compound as time passes. Take my advice. Don't buy this refrigerator. You should be able to grant less than 1 star on this website.

Bad product

I called top line the place that sold it and they recommended calling there repairman. 11/2 weeks later no answer to that call. Kitchenaid Quality Deteriorated Beyond Recognition

Kitchenaid quality has significantly deteriorated. Replaced our 17 yr old Kitchenaid bottom mount with this french door. It is just not the same quality in design or functionality as our old Kitchenaid. All these poor reviews are true!!! The freezer slider is not smooth and is rickety. The ice bucket is flimsy and the top freezer bin dividers are poorly thought out and near impossible to remove. The crisper bin frame is flimsy and the bins do not slide out smoothly. The deli drawer also is flimsy. Plus I would rather have the door shelf space than the extra deep deli drawer. Disappointed that I am stuck with a battleship grey cabinet. Our old Kitchenaid was black, which looked much sharper with the black countertop, black stovetop, black window glass on microwave and oven. The grey cabinet looks cheap and the gray plastic trim does not even match the very cabinet. On first sight: My 14 year old daughter stated "it's ugly!" Kitchenaid needs a new architect or designer. The handles are truly ugly. The refrigerator looks pathetic with our Bosch kitchen appliances. Remember I am comparing this to our previously, well-loved Kitchenaid refrigerator. Please upgrade your quality and design. This is more like the bottom of the line vs. the top of the line in quality and design. I sincerely hope that when this new refrigerator dies that Kitchenaid will have turned itself around and upgraded your quality. If not, this will be the last Kitchenaid refrigerator that we own!

The opening of the vegetable drawer is so narrow that I can't place a head of cabbage in the drawer. The quality of Kitchenaid is disappointing. I purchased a refrigerator back in the early '90's. Had it for 20 years. Nothing broke. The little plastic lever on the vegetable drawer has broken off. There are no children in the home who could have played with it, just 2 quiet seniors.

Expensive Garbage

This is the worst built refrigerator that I have ever owned. It looks pretty but it ends there. Everything inside is plastic and cheap. The vegetable drawers are plastic sliding on plastic which means they easily jam up in crooked fashion and when you are able to get them back in, they always catch on the moisture adjustment lever. Terrible! And don’t expect to get anything taller than a small Gatorade bottle on any of the shelves without making other shelves hard to get anything on. Milk has to go in the door. Yes, the shelves are adjustable and there’s a drop shelf that would work, but then you use two shelves for one bottle, or you sacrifice a shelf altogether. When the motor is running, unless all the planets in the universe are aligned, you’re going to hear some vibration or hum from who knows where. I actually paid extra for this because I thought KitchenAid made good appliances. I couldn’t have been more wrong. And when they say it doesn’t show fingerprints, that’s just false. Buyer beware. I’m sorry, was this not the kind of review you were hoping for? Simple solution - build better products people can use.

Problems with freezer

The refrigerator seems good but we have been having trouble with the freezer. It keeps icing up. The back has ice all over it, the light switch is frozen and not working, the rails have so much ice on them that it's difficult to pull the drawers out, and the food is full of frost. We have had it for one month. A repairman has been here twice and has ordered a fan because he thinks it may not be working properly. Service has been prompt and courteous.

You make a fortune off of people not reading fine print and expecting warranties to be warranties. NOT TRICKS! Many, many people come through our kitchen as we entertain at a very high profile level. The kitchen is new, beautiful and expensive. I am a high end cabinetmaker (company owner) and recommend products and tradespeople all the time.The only downside to my personal kitchen is the "older" Kitchen Aide products and we let EVERYONE know the complete story. Seems others know of these issues as well. I remember the days when a Kitchen Aide dishwasher was a bit noisy but the best you could buy. We had those products for years and they were workhorses. Cleaned everything spotlessly. Now the slides are broken on mine and I've had to replace all the plastic brackets and hinges on the upper sliding trays. Junk.... made specifically to become obsolete and expensive to repair. This is your issue, not mine.

Design flaw in door

I have had the door repaired once at a great expense and now the vertical hinge or mullion in between the doors is broken in two places. The design of this door is terrible. A neighbor has the same refrigerator and has the exact same problem. Don’t waste your money on this model!

Flimsy interior components

Interior components are flimsy and break easily. The humidity control tab on the vegetable drawer broke the first couple of months of owning this fridge. Then the deli drawer lid cracked. I ordered a replacement and while installing the new one the tab that holds it in also broke off. Also the water occasionally stops working I think it's because it freezes in the back of the fridge.

NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED ON THE VERY FIRST DAY

We bought this to replace an 33" LG/Kenmore Elite on which the compressor failed just one year past the five year warranty. Local dealer gets it set up, turns it on and after it had cooled to the setting temperature we started to stock it with food. No sooner than we put food on top of the shelf holding the two humidor vegetable/fruit drawers than the whole assembly pulls off the inside wall and collapses. The plastic bracket supporting one side had pulled away from the inside wall. The one screw holding this bracket to the wall pulled away and enlarged the hole so that it cannot be reassembled onto the inside wall because the threads of the screw won't bite into the plastic. I've read other complaints about the plastic on this model seeming to be thin and insubstantial, but to design a weight bearing structure to be held together with only one screw to be screwed into a thermoplastic composite that will crumble under the load of a few bottles seems to violate the warranty of merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose constituting an egregiously unfair and deceptive trade practice. I'm hoping the retailer, who has a very good reputation, can get this problem solved because I've really lost faith in the Whirlpool family of home appliance manufacturers.

Has horrible rattle!

I’ve had this one year, it has had a noisy rattle that has progressively gotten worse to the point it wakes me in the night. I love the style and design, and it fits perfectly in my kitchen, but I know it’s just a matter of time before it’s going to cost me. If you buy, I would recommend the extra warranty.....I wish I had purchased it, but unfortunately I trusted the brand. One other thing is the freezer handle was replaced under warranty, but still won’t stay tight....

Looks great but... the details killed it.

I was excited about my new purchase of this fridge. Thankfully, I did a bit more research when I got home. What I read, scared me so I went back to the store and did some checking. I ended up cancelling the order and I'm getting an LG (yuck) instead. Why? Simple. Maytag has shelves that have no dam on the rear. Further, they are about 1.5 inches off the back of the fridge. So why is that significant? Because any spill will immediately drain off the back edge. And what is that bad? Because KitchenAid decided to put a permanent piece of styrofoam along the rear wall, behind the drawers. When your goo oozes down the back, it will get stuck in that styrofoam and it will be *impossible* to get out. First, styrofoam is soft (no rubbing). Second, the foam is permanently affixed, meaning that any mess will get pulled into the small gap between the foam and the rear wall, etc. This is a maintenance nightmare and, potentially, a source for bad bacteria to grow. At its best, the flaw will be unsightly and messy. At its worst, the flaw could be a significant health hazard. Now, I like to buy American. You know, support the American worker, our economy, our independence. But when I encounter a design flaw as big as this one, I simply will not purchase that product. LG's fridge doesn't have this problem. GE didn't have exactly what I wanted, so LG it is. Sorry KitchenAid. I've used your appliances for years; in fact, the fridge I'm replacing is a KA. But this time around, you had a fail.

Horrible Quality

I bought this months ago and have had nothing but problems. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
