We bought our LG refrigerator as part of a set. This is our first experience with a French door model. The refrigerator portion is much more spacious than our previous traditional model while the freezer section is a little smaller than our previous model. The ice maker is much more compact than our previous model while the ice is preferable in shape and size. The display of temperatures on the control panel is very cool and spot on with an independent thermometer!

Mixed feelings

Large capacity in part due to icemaker in door vs in refrigerator. However small capacity for ice and small cubes. Doors seem to dent easily. No light in bottom drawer which makes it a little difficult at night.

Outstanding Refrigerator

I'm really impressed with this refrigerator. I've had zero issues and that's the way it should be. Only complaint is with the ice maker. If not used regularly, the ice has a tendency to thaw slightly and stack up on 1 side. I have to open it and break the stack in order to dispense ice. Other than that, it's been a great appliance.

Love the depth of the door storage

The size of this refrigerator is so much better than any I’ve had before. It’s not so tall I can’t reach any thing on top and it’s deep enough to hold all my groceries and still have room. The depth of the doors is a plus for gallon size beverage containers with room for a few more smaller containers too. WiFi on a fridge!?! Who knew this feature is something I wanted and needed all along!

My Cool LG Fridge

Love this LG French door with double freezer compartments. Plenty of space, good cooling in fridge and in the doors. The 2 drawer freezer compartments make organizing and finding an item easy! Use the water and ice maker located on the outside door daily. Since ice compartment collects ice on the inside of the door it frees up more space, although sometimes the ice buildup jams and I have to shake the reserve container to keep ice flowing. The water filter is good for 6 months and works great for pure clean water. There is a built in air filter and my refrigerator continues to stay fresh from odors.

Well-made and effective

Have had this LG for only a month or so, but loving it thus far. The price was good, easy to install and use, quiet, and effective. Love the double-door freezers, which was a major selling point b/c they really cut down on items being lost at the bottom of one drawer. My only annoyance is that the left door seems to slam shut b/c it is so heavy with all the ice-making equipment in it. I try to be careful in closing, but it doesn't take much for it to slam. But I'd gladly buy it all over again.

I've only had this refrigerator about 4 weeks but am loving it so far! I like having the craft ice (grandson loves it even more) Having the 2 freezer drawers are great, I'm able to separate and keep certain things in one drawer and vise versa. It is the same size as prefer refrigerator but somehow has more room in it(?) I do love that the door shelves are much bigger as well! So far its been perfect! Everything is as cool as one would want it, its been whisper quiet no loud noise when ice drops as my old one! And the no finger prints showing is wonderful! So far its been great! And the kids just love the "ice balls" craft ice!

New fridge

The interior space is quite adequate and with the ice maker in the door, there is even more room. Still don't know if I like the split freezer drawers for which there is no lighting for the lower drawer. Set the fridge temperature to 34, the lowest ithas ever gotten is 36, but usually it is 37 or 38. I have a digital thermometer inside 2 sandwich bags which are placed inside a plastic cup of water placed on the top shelf. This is the preferred method to measure temperature. It is a remote thermometer, with the display mounted to the outside of the fridge. I wish the LG display panel could display the actual interior temperature. Still getting used the the crisper drawers handles being on the bottom. The interior lighting needs redesigned to also have lighting on the sides for lighting of the lower shelves. It took 2 days to cool down after initial set up. It runs quietly. This model does have a Wi-Fi connection with minimal options.

The ice maker is a poor deign. Its in the door and makes it very heavy. If you don't make ice every day it freezes and lumps up and wont operate at all. You have to open the ice maker door in the door pull out the box and remove the solidified ice.

Does LG sell an in-freezer ice maker addition for this model? We run out of ice constantly because the door dispenser holds so little ice. I cannot believe that a giant fridge like this only makes enough ice for drinks for a dinner for four -- once.

We bought this refrigerator about a month ago to replace our previous one that was failing. It is really close to the same model as our previous, with improvements. We love the 2 drawer bottom freezer. We no longer have to dig for items, and we are much less likely to forget what we have. It seems to store just as much. This refrigerator seems to be easier to organize. So far, everything is fantastic. We don't need all the other fancy features offered by higher priced refrigerators as there are just the 2 of us.

we bought a french door refrigerator approximately two months ago. we are happy with it, but we do have suggestions: 1> the ice/water dispenser should have a funnel/cover to prevent ice from dropping on the floor. 2> the ice/water dispenser should have something to catch any ice particles that fall inside the ice/water dispenser. 3> both doors should be self closing. 4> both doors should be slow close: they should not slam. 5> the bolts that fasten the doors to refrigerator body should be covered to give the interior a more finished appearance.

I bought this and got it home to find out that it was not cooling so after 1 month, I had it repaired and I am impressed with the performance, the ease of having a first class fridge that the doors are at eye level, ample storage for fridge items. Having eye level and ample space in the fridge is a food saver. The crushed ice maker, cold water and cubed ice maker id definitely a plus. Freezer space is small but very nice and handy as you do not need to dig to get to the items as in a larger top loading freezer.

Very happy with the overall space in the refrigerator. The shelves adjust to fit my needs. The door storage fits wine bottles. This was not the case in my last French door that only lasted 7 years. Love the craft ice. Would hav re been helpful if manual stated you should not put anything in the craft ice tray. That delayed the production of my first batch of ice.

I have had this refrigerator about four months and it is a life changer. With a family of 6, it has amazing storage space and helps keep things tidy and organized. A bonus is the built in water system, complete with a water filter providing ice and water. With new technologies such as Wi-Fi and printproof finish, the LG Smart Refrigerator is the way to go. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone wanting to buy a new refrigerator!

Happy with my new refrigerator with few exceptions

The refrigerator is beautiful and very spacious. I have just a few issues with it. The ice cubes are very small and have a tendency to stick together when the bin gets filled up. I would also like a light in the bottom freezer like the one in the top freezer. Another feature that is a small problem is the stationary plastic shield on top of the slide out deli drawer. It restricts being able to easily fit items in the drawer.

I bought this when we moved into our new house four years ago. It fit the allowed space and we have owned LG Refrigerators before, The ice maker and water dispenser are not as good as in previous refrigerators. The bearings went out in the motor that releases ice and the flap that keeps the ice leaks. It’s under warranty and is in the process of being repaired.

I purchased my new LQ refrigerator March ‘22. After 50 years of having several different makes/models of refrigerators, this one has been my favorite. The overall design of being able to organize and clear shelves assist with decreasing risk of items being pushed to the back and spoiling. The outside is black stainless steel. It is beautiful and no matter how many hands are on the refrigerator daily, there is never a print on smudge. The cooling system is amazing and it protects the meats, vegetables, and fruits better than anything I have ever had.

The fingerprint resistant finish is a sanity saver! The unit is quiet and cools well. Great storage on the right door, but limited space on the left side due to the icemaker. It makes ice quickly, but I have to empty the bin into the freezer storage to be able to have enough ice to use in a day; there is no ice maker in the freezer drawer, which I wish was an option. The produce and deli drawers are roomy. I thought that the display on the front would show the actual fridge temp to know if it was working correctly, but it only displays what the set temperature is. Living in an area where there are power outages due to hurricanes and severe weather, it would be helpful to know the actual temperature of the interior for food safety. Seems useless, really, otherwise. I realize you can't have everything. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

I bought this over a month ago to replace my 9 year old LG fridge. While the space is not the same as my old one, it is running fine and I have not had any issues. I will say that the water in the door is not as cold as my old fridge but my wife likes that better. I do like that I can see issues and energy consumption in the app. Overall the fridge does what it is suppose to. I do like the separate drawers for the freezer.

When we contacted LG they were very friendly and helpful. They scheduled a service call and they came out and replaced the compressor free of charge.

Bought this refrig about a month ago. Great refrig. Plenty of room in the top and freezers also. My previous french door refrig had the automatic ice maker in top of frige which took up a lot of space. So much more room with the ice maker in the door. Makes plenty of ice. The water/ice despenser works great but the water,crush and reg ice icons are small and hard to see. Does have a blue light when choice is made but still hard to see which one. Not a big problem. Refrig and top freezer drawer have plenty of light. Bottom freezer does not have lights but I see everything fine. Everything works as should. Delivery guys were excellent! Awesome refrigerator. Would recommend.

One thing that is not with the newer refrigerator is the ability to adjust the shelves inside the door...that was a pretty neat feature on the "older" refrigerator. A nice well build french door fridge from LG

Finally bought a new french door fridge. I went with the LG brand as I have heard they are a good brand and last. My previous fridge was a side by side and a Maytag, but it junked out on me. This model has it says a dual ice maker, but it is really just the icemaker in the door and you can dump the ice in the door manually into the tray for ice in the top freezer under it. There is a second freezer as well under it. The bottom one is bigger.The fridge part is massive! It has so much more room than my old one. I also like how it is open all on top and there is no divider as found in the side by side models and the fridge part is eye level and I do not have to lean down to get things out of the fridge. Really makes you think why no one invented these french door fridges sooner!The water filter for it I noticed is rather pricey, that is one concern about it I have had. I may see if I can just take it out later, as that was what I did with my Maytag and never had any problems being on city water.A nice feature with this is the ice cubes are smaller than the only type, which I also really like. It also has wifi so you can connect it to your phone to see the temperature, but it is more a fun feature than having any real benefit as far as I can tell.It has a quick ice feature to make ice faster if you are having company come and turn it on a day prior, so it makes ice faster to start to fill the lower tray manually by unloading the ice from the top tray as it is made. However, I would just go buy a bag of ice for a few dollars for that, as the water filter on these is expensive and I suspect that just buying bags of ice for parties would be more cost effective as well as easier to do.There is also a shelf that will slide in when you open the doors, so if you have something taller you can put it in the fridge. The doors have space to store items as well on the insides. The left side will only old small things like a bottle of ketchup. The right side can holder larger things like a gallon of milk.There is a fruit and veggie drawer, although you can set them to either. Both can be fruit or veggie, or swap them at any time. Gorgeous with flaws

I've had this fridge for about 2 weeks now. It's a beautiful refrigerator but there are a few things I dislike. First off is the door on the right side. You can't just push the door closed and go on your way. It will stop about 6 inches before it closes completely. You have to actually give it an addition push to make sure it closes completely. At first I thought it was just my fridge but I went to three different stores to compare and they all do the same exact thing. You can push and let of the left door and it will go to the full closed position but that right door will not. If you push that right door without making sure it's fully closed and then leave the kitchen, the fridge will be open the entire time. There is a door alarm but by the time it alerts you, you could have left the area or the house. It's definitely a design flaw. I feel it has something to do with the position of the rubber seal on the right side which prevents it from smoothly going through the full closing motion. The other issue I have is with the ice maker. It's very slow making ice and the capacity is very limited since it's a slim design. So if you plan to have guest over and more than 4 people need some ice, you better make some ice in advance and store it in the freezer. The last gripe I have is with the water filter. I have dispensed at least 8 gallons of water to try to get rid of that chemical charcoal taste. It will be fine right after doing a bulk water dump but if I come back an hour later for water, the water taste horrible once again. My tap water actually taste better. It almost taste as if it could be toxic. It was not like that with my previous refrigerator. The ice also taste awful. Overall it's a gorgeous fridge and the storage is well thought out but those few gripes I have is really making me question my purchase.

I read on line reviews about tightening the water filter one more turn...waiting to see if the problem is solved like everyone says on line. I would encourage you tell your installers this is a problem. Also, my door does not automatically shut...I have to push it shut.

Disappointed.

The refrigerator was purchased in 2019, so it is almost 7 years old. Somewhat disappointed that I had to have it recently serviced, with 3 parts needing replacement. The defrost heater, a sensor and cooling fan were all replaced. Honestly, I would expect a refrigerator to be much older before needing parts replaced.

Mostly fine, but feels downgraded from older model

I recently replaced my 15-year-old LG fridge with this model, which feels very similar overall. However, I noticed more components are made of plastic, so I’m unsure if it will last as long. One improvement I do love is the additional freezer drawer—it makes food more accessible and easier to organize. Unfortunately, the bottom drawer lacks a light, which is a disappointing oversight. The ice maker, however, is a downgrade. The ice frequently gets stuck and has to be manually broken apart, which wasn’t an issue with my old fridge. I find this most annoying of all, since it needs to be dealt with every couple of days. Another inconvenience is the single dispenser button—you have to select either ice or water before use, unlike my previous model, which had separate buttons for each. The old fridge also featured an extra water button on the exterior, making it easy to fill larger containers, and I really miss that feature. Overall, it seems like a decent refrigerator so far (after one month), but it has some frustrating design flaws compared to my previous model.

I bought this refrigerator and loved the freezer drawers, etc. After two years, the ice machine stopped functioning. After just less than 5 years, the compressor dies. I had a lot of food that had to be thrown out because it was more than a week before it could be fixed. Fortunately, it was just before the expiration of the warranty; so, I did not have to pay for the repair. I really like the model; I just wish it didn't break down.

The fan stopped working within 9 months of purchasing. Getting it fixed under the warranty was a challenge and took 3 weeks. Aside from that, the fridge is nice. My only issue is that the ice maker side door is very heavy and constantly slams shut.

Making ice is NOT a forte of this refrig. There is no way to easily access ice without dispensing it with great noise and variable stopping. The doors and drawers, especially, vary in how they close or stay open. one doesn't close by itself, another closes forcefully. Is it at all possible to regulate each???? The design of the interior drawers makes it difficult to tell which, top or bottom is what you grasp to open the drawer. Terrible design.

I also do not like that one of the freezer draws has to be constantly checked for sealing after I saw a large accumulation of ice around the door and food. We got this fridge 5 years ago. Here are the pros and cons of this fridge. Pros: Great size for a family of five. Freezer drawers at the bottom provides easy access on frozen items, especially having 2 drawers instead of only 1 deep drawer. Cons: Ice makers started leaking water after 1 years, so we stopped using it. Compressor went out this year (2023) right before Thanksgiving. The diagnosing tool on their LG app is useless, because the fridge is completely broken and it still said no issue was detected. New fridge doesn't last as long as they are used to anymore.

Great with a few issues

This replaced an LG refrigerator that was damaged during a storm. I basically bought the same unit but with two freezer drawers instead of one. Having trouble with this unit with the freezer drawers icing excessively along the tracks, as well as condensation in the ice maker. Hopefully the issues get resolved soon so I can love this one as much as it’s predecessor.

Water & Ice tastes bad

Have had this refrigerator for about two months now, and the water and ice still have that bad taste to it. I have followed the manufacturer's instructions about running 2.5 gallons through the system times 4 and emptied the ice bin times 4 but it still tastes bad. It's getting better but they need to change the instructions or fix the reason for the terrible taste. Water coming from my faucet is good.

No light in bottom freezer - buy the cheaper model

Don't buy this. Buy the cheaper one - hundreds of dollars less - that has just one freezer compartment with a sliding tray. The bottom freezer drawer in this model has NO LIGHT, so it's apparently for overflow long-term storage. Half of the top drawer - what would be in the the sliding tray of the cheaper model - is wasted with ice storage, which needs lighting like a hole in the head. I'm going to use that half for frozen food and put the ice bin in my master bedroom closet for shoe storage.

Problem with model!

I bought this refrigerator after having owned another LG fridge for 10 years but for some reason this one has had over six issues where it stopped cooling, would not push cold air from freezer to upper fridge or the ice maker. Have had LG technicians out to repair it and now am having another issue with the same fridge again. Now it is being placed on an outside agency to repair it. At what point would LG consider this fridge a lemon and replace it for the customer. I own over four LG appliances and after this experience not sure if will be getting LG appliances in the future.

It broke down completely useless after 3 years. I was old it was a faulty compressor apparently a common issues with this model. I was told after 5 service appointments that it was irreparable and that I would get some sort of new unit or a comparable compensation. I've waited for 4 months. I've called costumer service about 20 times, waited on the phone approximately 40 hours and despite promises that they will take care of it and that someone will call back nothing was done, NOTHING. To say that LG has bad customer service would be misleading. The customer service is so poor that it deserves to be highlighted as the worse customer service in a business 101 class. TERRIBLE quality, TERRIBLE service, terrible company.

We bought the French door model Model LMXS28626S/02 in December or 2019 and we started having problems with it in early July 2024. LG is known to have serious compressor problems and we decided to buy a new refrigerator, different brand, as we just didn't want the unknown factor in our lives. Last few weeks unit was frosting up and temperature was varying greatly. As far as the design and features of the unit, we loved it. I was very disappointed that the LG cooling system was inferior and problematic.

I bought this 4 years ago. Everything is great except for the defrost on the lower freezer drawer. It freezes shut so when it is finally pulled open huge chuncks of ice break off.. Have called and tried all the suggested fixes-defrost, change the temperature settings, 36 degrees 37 degrees, 35 degrees, 34 degrees, 32 degrees. each time defrosting and restarting. Have been trying for over a week to activate my extended warrenty.. I have talked to so many reps(each one polite) but there is so much red tape to accomplish.. I think I finally have the necessary information-waiting to geta service appoint with my assigned claim number. I cannot call, I have to wait for a email response-waiting 4 days now.

I purchase this amazing looking unit and took it 125 miles to home. Had to remove the door handles to get it into the kitchen. The unit looked super nice and we hooked it up.. After 30 minutes, we found that it was not cooling? We reviewed all the connections including the water line and found that the unit was not cooling. We left the refrigerator plugged in for another 24 hours and still no cooling. We then called the repair man and he showed up verifying that the unit had a defective evaporator and condensor. We ordered the parts which arrived yesterday and are in hopes that the repair man can install them on Tuesday next week. No matter the problems, we believe we bought the right refrigerator and we are excited to get it running as we so badly need all the features on this gorgeous unit.

Not very happy with my 3 year old LG Refrigerator now, Icemaker is not dumping and the freezer will not go below 12 degrees .

Lasted about 3 years before compressor and sealed system failure. Technician and internet confirmed this is common LG issue so likely is known by LG and should have been recalled. Therefore I will never buy an LG again.

This refrigerator died at five years five months (five months after the expiration of its service plan). This was the second LG refrigerator I bought-the first lasted four years! Silly me for thinking that the second would last longer than the first.

Re: LG French Door Refrigerator 3.5 yrs old Model LMXS28626S We have been down since last week. Parts have been replaced by L.G and still it doesn't work. A independent Service Company has been dispatched for a Service call. The new Company has been contacting me tirelessly about remote trouble shooting and information I have given now 3 times. I have a book of details on this circus act. I would say more but it would just make you cry. Having been a Manager for a National Xray Company I know service. This isn't it.

Stay away from LG

Bought about 3 months ago and have a few issues. The freezer drawers have a bad seal and food ices up and the ice tray melts. The slides have ice on them from the condensation as well. The motor is making loud noises already and LG won't help me! Do not recommend LGs.

Refrigerator is 2 months old and waiting for the fourth time the Repair tech is coming to try to fix the issue. It appears that this product is a lemon and should be replaced, but we have to jump through hoops To get all the repair appointments and lost food which is unacceptable

Dead fridge

I purchased this fridge and several months later the fridge went completely dead. It’s no longer working. I had to call an appliance repair man it was past warranty and now I’m spending several hundred dollars trying to fix this. Very disappointing.

The is a terrible refrigerator. Has a faulty compressor that fails. Cost us over $500 in food. The LG app is worse than worthless, it is dangerous. Even after a complete compressor failure it continued to tell me everything was fine. As someone told me, if you buy and LG geet a second one from another brand so you have someplace to put your food when the LG fails. Further, LG new of the issue and never notified us to have them look at it. Told everyone I know to stay away from LG.

I wanted to love this fridge. But the compressor went out one month after 5 years. That’s not good. I also had to replace the drawer lid when something fell on it and it cracked. Not durable. A year later I dropped a small container and it cracked again. Sometimes the fan acts up and gets loud as well. The ice maker still works and I do love that. But if you accidentally leave the door ajar. Only slightly, not enough for the alarm to beep, the ice will melt and you will have a mess. It’s disappointing. I’ve had 4 repairs in just over 5 years. My technician says he sees many issues with LG refrigerators.

My refrigerator was purchased in July 2018 and after just over five years the freezer isn’t working and the ice machine will not make ice. I loved the refrigerator up until now and would have recommended it but for obvious reasons, I do not feel confident in purchasing another with the linear compressor.

I am disappointed with the quality of this refrigerator. Within just two years, it failed to maintain appropriate freezing and cooling levels. I had to replace the compressor, but even after that, it only functioned properly for less than a year. The freezer consistently struggled to keep items sufficiently frozen. I found myself having to frequently unplug and replug the unit to reset it. Overall, not a satisfactory experience.
