This refrigerator is the perfect size for what we needed. I wish it had less drawers and wider shelf spacing. Most of the shelves aren’t big enough to hold anything The actual usage of the item works as needed just not practical.

Good door shelves

I haven't had a new refrigerator in more than two decades, so I'm not used to the newer way of shelving, and it takes some getting used to. I would like more flexibility in the freezer like there is in the fridge. The dairy drawer is too deep -- we forget what's not in front, and the crisper is way too deep -- it's a beverage bucket for us, essentially. But I love the deep door shelves and that it WORKS.

Must defrost to restore temperature balance

To many reviewers (like myself) who complained about temperature imbalance between upper and lower compartments, I now know the unit must be defrosted occasionally to rebalance the units effectiveness. Unplug and do a full defrost. Be ready with old towels. Depending on freezer frost level, a good deal of water will result in lower area. Once frost is melted, plug back in and set temp. Good as new.

I'm super happy with this fridge. It's the perfect size for my cabin and feels very roomy. I gave it a mild renovation when I first got it by removing the upper drawer and a shelf so I could fit tall items in. It makes some interesting quiet gurgling noises but they aren't bothersome at all.

I bought this fridge couple weeks ago, and happy with it. It is a small refrigerator suitable for one person or yang couple. Works quiet, keeps the food and drinks cold. Freezer is powerful. Have a few requirements to the manufacturer. It will be better if you offer another model with same Depth 26" and Hight 66", just a bit wider - 30", instead of 24". Using this set up you are removing the bottom shelf on the door. Also, the big box at the bottom is difficult to be pulled out. some rolls or sliders may help. Last, it will be much more convenient if the freezer is at the bottom with two or three small box shelves. I think for the same price you can do much better fridge just by changing its set up.

Great capacity in a small footprint

My new Whirlpool 24" wide, 12.9 cu. ft. refrigerator/freezer is just what I was expecting. It occupies the same space that my previous "garage fridge" did, but due to its greater height, holds much more in both the fridge and the freezer sections. On July 14th, the delivery people removed the packing material and set it in the space we had reserved and all we had to do was plug it in. It works very well and is great for overflow food, ice and beverages. It will easily accommodate large platters, a large watermelon and a layer cake in its container. It looks good too! Great product at a reasonable price. We are very pleased.

The reviews I have read are mixed. Some people had bad experiences like break downs after a period of time. One good thing is that this refrigerator uses quite a bit less energy than my old refrigerator and it has reflected on my energy bill. I like the finishes on the unit and I apply a special hi tech wax to the surfaces for improved up keep. It's really easy to get the inside dirty and it happens very slowly one drip at a time and before you know it you have a big mess on your hands. So taking precaution from day one is really impo

I needed a small, counter-depth fridge, and wanted it in glossy black. This fridge fits the bill perfectly. It gets a demerit because of the mismatch in the way the doors open. The freezer slot is on the side and the fridge slot is in front. Yes, it's a small annoyance but it does keep me from truly loving this otherwise fine product. Lastly, I'm still trying to remove the bits of plastic sheeting that was left after the installation. This is a problem because of limited mobility in my dominant hand.

It replaced a bigger refrigerator and it fits the space so much better. Basically being used as a beverage refrigerator and backup freezer. In reading the instructions do not overload the freezer or it will block the air going to the refrigerator. Have not had any issues.

Disappointing interior design

After 35 years, I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator. I am happy with the smaller size and more efficient (I hope) motor but the interior design was an unpleasant surprise. I am disappointed.The large fruit and vegetable drawer at the bottom has no runners on which to slide in and out. It just sits on the bottom of the fridge. There was another smaller unnecessary veg drawer, just taking up room which I removed. They was a labeled "meat" drawer but no place to put it. I called three times, and held for more than an hour to get delivery clarifications. Finally hung up.

Adorable Refrigerator, Leaks Water

We were so excited to get our little refrigerator. It seemed like the solution for our upstairs kitchen. We have gotten so many compliments on it. It was out of warranty on December 2022 and now it leaks all the time creating water puddles in on the glass. We don't know what we can do but it hardly seems fair that it is not very old and just because we chose to not buy the service agreement. We can't afford to invest in another. If it would work, I would give 5 stars because it is really spacious for a little refrigerator.

Unfortunately one of the feet was bent, and when we switched the door opening direction, we found that one of the needed holes on the bottom wasn't threaded like it was supposed to be (found out after removing over 20 screws and the doors...).

When we purchased, the refrigerator part would not cool, freezer worked great. Set up a service call and the “damper” was stuck. Repairman was going to order another one but found there are no parts available for this model, maybe like this is a “ disposable refrigerator “ ( my words) damper thumped and fridge part is working, just hope after the warranty is over it doesn’t quit. Repairman advised us to buy an extended warranty. Purchased for a garage refrigerator

The worst fridge ever

I have had this fridge for less than 2 years and had service twice and it still freezes up and leaks water from the freezer portion to the refrigerator portion. Must be defrosted at least once a month just to keep from losing food.I would not recommend this unit. Waste of money in my opinion.

I have had this fridge for almost four years and it is awful. The freezer has a lot of ice build up, so much that it blocks the airflow to the fridge section which then doesn’t keep temp. Before it fully ices up, there is water constantly leaking into the fridge from the freezer—and we don’t have an ice-maker with this fridge so there is no water connection to be leaking. The layout is good and it has a impressive amount of space for its size—but the negatives in performance deeply outweigh the positives.

This 12.9 cu. foot Top-Freezer Refrigerator has several major flaws. 1. The normal magnetic pull that closes the refrigerator door is almost non-existent. This means that when using this refrigerator, I am constantly double-checking that the door is SEALED. I've never had this happen with any other Frigidaire or Kenmore refrigerator. 2. There is no "door ajar" alarm which requires extra vigilance. 3. The plastic drawers are cheaply made.

Worst fridge ever. It cools when it wants to, then suddenly the fridge is warm. Have tried to make sure the freezer is not overloaded so it doesn't frost every item, then defrost the entire unit, then load lightly, but that didn't work. It's used as an overflow fridge in my basement, mainly for drinks, but sometimes for perishables like eggs and my next container of milk or creamer. Just had to throw that out this week as the fridge is, once again, just barely cool. This is a very cheap made in Mexico fridge and I hate it.

Have had just over two years and have many of the same issues of water in the fridge, the freezer ices up and leaks down into the fridge. Then gets too cold and stops the cold from going into the fridge. Now the compressor is making noise and not cooling at all. Two years? What are you selling Whirlpool? With all these reviews I do wonder if you will stand behind your product? I will update after I hear from Whirlpool.

I bought this fridge because it would fit in the space available in my mother’s suite in our house. Although you’re not paying a very high price, for the price it is still a piece of junk. Within not even a year, ice began to build up in the freezer and cause water leaks into the fridge. Then the fridge just stopped being cold altogether. I have the extended warranty and certainly hope that Whirlpool will take care of these issues. However, I would still never recommend purchasing this product.

WRT112CZJZ gets warm in fridge & subzero freezer

we have had the Whirlpool WRT112CZJZ for about 2-3 years (?) since day one it has been a constant battle to keep the fridge cool rarely gets under 35 and is usually in the 39-45 range which is too warm for food safety. Often we find the fridge at 60 deg and the freezer is sub cold. I empty the freezer and let it (the ice) thaw over night. this fix may last a week maybe a month. it has gotten intollerable and we're probably going to PITCH IT. YES, we put very little in the freezer to make sure the vents do not get blocked but this does not seem to help. ** Are the cold air vents on this unit gravity feed to the fridge from the freezer? OR is it fan driven? if fan driven that might be our problem as i have never heard a fan run. ****any other fixes? i've been tempted to drill extra holes in the freezer floor to allow more cold air to the fridge (its junk so why not)?

A lemon, no lemonade

Bought in 2021. Recently, the freezer iced up and the refrigerator won't stay cold. Before this, water in fridge often. Bad reviews consistent on many sites. This product is a lemon. Whirlpool, what are you going to do to stand by your product? I had a Maytag unit that lasted 20 years. This breaks down in 2?

Absolute Trash

I would not recommend this fridge. Nothing put problems since I purchased it. If you need a small 24" fridge look elsewhere. The gasket around the door has never sealed properly and blocks of ice form in the freezer prevent cold air from reaching the refrigerator.

Worst Refrigerator I’ve owned!

I purchased this fridge a little over a year ago, it has given me problems since day one. The freezer control knob broke on the first day. Since then about every two month I would have to completely de-ice the condenser coils in the freezer, what a pain! Lost two fridges loads of food while owning this fridge. If that wasn’t bad enough the fridge has now started to make a humming noise at the back and will not cycle on anymore. I would not recommend this fridge to anyone! Stay away!

Leaks water into fridge

Like for a lot of other people, I started having problems with this fridge shortly after the one year warranty ran out. It began to leak water into the fridge and I was told by an appliance repairman that it happened due to the defrost drain being clogged and if it happened again to turn the fridge off and let it completely defrost. It began to happen with increasing frequency until now, two and a half years into owning it, where I am forced to defrost it every month and lose food in the process. Complete garbage appliance that appears to have no fix due to its faulty design. Don’t bother wasting your money.

Broke within a year

I am so dissapointed, I thought going with a name like Whirlpool would be a smart bet. This product gave us problems within the first couple months, and now, it's not even a year out and the fridge stopped cooling. The freezer is still operating but not the fridge. Now I have to buy a new one somehow and I have no income over summer. It is seemingly impossible to try and get in touch with anyone to honor any warranty or try to get it replaced. So dissapointing.

Bought this fridge a luttle over a year ago, compressor broke twice, they're going to install a third compressor that's surely going to fail again but this time it may just push it out of warranty, then they'll leave me with a broken fridge to deal with. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT WORK WITH WHIRLPOOL. THIS IS WHY THEIR STOCK HAS BEEN FAILING FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. HORRIBLE PEOPLE

It's in my cabin now and it's not working

I love the design, the size is perfect, but it doesn't work, the unfortunate thing is that since the cabin is not in a big city, Whirlpool is trying to locate a city near enough to the cabin to send a repair man. All the food I had in it has spoiled, and I have to wait an additional week before someone calls me. I think a better solution would have been you come and get it and you bring a new one.

Freezer ineffective

I bought this refrigerator one month ago and I'm not happy with it. The freezer does not keep all contents fully frozen. I noticed the problem after a couple of weeks and adjusted the freezer control to max freezing level. That did not solve the problem. Everything is not fully frozen. The unit does not freeze the ice cream at all. It has thick soupy consistency.

Nice fridge but has issues

Brand new fridge not even a year old and filling up with water on the inside. Pretty ridiculous. I use this as a second fridge so it has about 6-10 small items in it and the freezer has even less so this shouldn’t be happening. I had to schedule a repair and they said only half of the heater is working to defrost. I expect that from a fridge that’s years old. Not a brand new one just manufactured. Ridiculous. Not to mention I am pregnant so it’s more hassle I didn’t want to deal with.
