This little fellow works it heart out. Ice starts coming out within about five minutes after you turn it on. Very pleased with the performance of this unit.
followed the instructions, waited an hour before plugging it in. No ice, not even cold inside. I moved on to the GE Opal which works great

Brand Background
Magic Chef has been a fixture in American kitchens since 1929 and now operates under MCA Corporation from its headquarters in Wood Dale, Illinois. The brand has carved out a clear niche in the budget segment, focusing primarily on compact refrigeration solutions for dorm rooms, offices, apartments, and secondary living spaces where full-size appliances simply won't fit. The lineup also includes beverage coolers, mini fridges, beverage centers, and upright freezers, demonstrating the brand's commitment to space-conscious cooling solutions across multiple categories. Products like the MCB17CHM beverage cooler appear among the most-tracked items in the catalog. For consumers furnishing a first apartment, outfitting a home bar, or adding supplemental cold storage, Magic Chef remains a practical entry point into the refrigeration market.
