We continuously collect owner reviews and public discussions from major retailers and community forums, de-duplicate them, and set aside anything we can’t tie to a verified purchase.

“Fridge & taps work great. My two issues are the capacity is a little misleading. You can’t fit a 1/4 & a 1/6. The only way you can have 2 beers is if you buy two 1/6’s. It fits 1- 1/2, 1-1-4 or 2-1/6’s. Also the installation instructions were incorrect, confusing & didn’t match the item exactly.”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet.
How easy is this kegerator to set up and assemble?Based on 4 owner mentions
Most reviewers report that assembly is straightforward and quick. Several owners noted they had the unit up and running without significant difficulty, though consulting online setup videos is recommended to ensure proper installation and avoid leaks.
What keg configurations does this unit accommodate?Based on 2 owner mentions
The kegerator can hold one half-barrel keg, one quarter-barrel with one sixth-barrel, or two sixth-barrel kegs. It cannot simultaneously fit a quarter-barrel and a sixth-barrel together, so capacity planning depends on your keg size preference.
Does this kegerator keep beer at the right temperature?Based on 3 owner mentions
Most reviewers confirm the unit cools beer effectively and maintains cold temperatures well. One owner reported difficulty achieving temperatures below 43 degrees, which they found too warm for beer; this appears to be an isolated case rather than a widespread issue.
Can this unit be converted to a regular refrigerator?Based on 1 owner mention
Yes, the kegerator includes options to convert it to a standard fridge if desired, giving you flexibility to change its function based on your needs.
How durable and long-lasting is this kegerator?Based on 2 owner mentions
Owners report strong overall quality and durability. One reviewer had their previous Danby kegerator last 12 years before accidental damage, and they immediately purchased another model, indicating high confidence in the brand's longevity.
Are there any issues with frost buildup inside the unit?Based on 1 owner mention
One reviewer noted some frost buildup after 2.5 months of use and expressed uncertainty about whether it would become a long-term problem. This does not appear to be a widespread complaint across other reviews.
How easy are the wheels to use for moving the unit?Based on 1 owner mention
One owner noted that the wheels are somewhat stiff and require effort to roll back and forth, though this was not mentioned as a critical issue by other reviewers.

- Best day ever!
Hubby and friends love this ! Great price, works well. Easy to set up.
ShoreVerifiedJul 8, 2023 - Excellent Replacement Unit
I was replacing an older Danby unit so needed one with the same hole measurement as the tower is mounted to the counter top.The dimensions listed and in some of the comments are not quite right. I did receive confirmation from Danby on the hole placement within a day of sending…
tmacVerifiedSep 7, 2020 - Good product.
We have been using it for a few months. Not bad. The C02 regulator is low quality. Replace the plastic beer line with a longer one and one with a low diameter to minimize foaming.
JamesVerifiedOct 15, 2024 - Meets All Expectations
The kegerator is working flawlessly. It is an economical choice over buying bottles or cans and having to recycle or otherwise dispose of the containers.Continues to work well on a daily basis!
Rebecca A MontanoVerifiedJun 6, 2022 - Works good
Arrived with a dent on the front bottom of door. But works good. Beer is cold, and dispenses perfect

- My Beer Tap
I like the looks of this kegerator, and it keeps the beer cold
Glenn1955Apr 3, 2026 - Danby Kegerators
My 2nd Danby kegerator. The last one was 12 years old. I accidentally punctured the back while defrosting, totally my fault! I did not hesitate getting another Danby kegerator, this time with Auto Defrost.
1374Feb 2, 2026 - Kegerator
Was super easy to set up love it, love the options to change to a fridge if I want, it does frost up a bit inside so not sure if that’s going to be an issue going forward as only had it for 2-1/2 months
Mar 8, 2025 - The Kegerator
Overall quality is excellent. Very pleased with the unit.

Brand Background
About Danby
Danby is a family-owned Canadian appliance manufacturer headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, that has been producing refrigeration products since 1947. The company has carved out a distinct niche in the North American market by focusing primarily on compact and specialty refrigeration rather than competing directly with full-size kitchen appliance giants. Fridge.com currently tracks 75 Danby products, with the catalog heavily weighted toward space-saving solutions: 18 compact refrigerators, 14 chest freezers, 13 upright freezers, and 9 beverage centers represent the core of their offerings. The brand also maintains smaller selections of French door refrigerators, kegerators, and wine storage units. Among the most frequently monitored models in the Fridge.com database are the DBC117A1 beverage cooler and the DCF050A6WM chest freezer, reflecting consumer interest in Danby's specialty categories. With an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars across captured reviews, Danby positions itself as a value-tier option for shoppers seeking secondary refrigeration, dorm room solutions, garage freezers, or dedicated beverage storage without the premium pricing of larger appliance brands.
