“Hi, love the look and extra space this frig offers. I am also getting some ice collection in the back wall as others have mentioned. My question is about the hardened foam around the wiring in the back of frig. Is this normal or is this a concern? Please let me know. I’ll attach an image. Thank you!”
Owners Answer
The questions shoppers ask, answered from real owner reviews and discussions across the web — not the manufacturer spec sheet. See the spec FAQ below for the official numbers.
How quiet is this refrigerator?Based on 4 owner mentions
Most owners report this unit runs very quietly, with several noting it is noticeably quieter than comparable models they've owned. A few reviewers mention occasional popping or cracking sounds when the compressor cycles, though these are not widespread complaints.
What are the dimensions and how does it fit under counters?Based on 3 owner mentions
This compact unit measures 23.9 inches wide, 33.9 inches tall, and 26 inches deep, making it designed to fit under standard kitchen counters. Most owners report it fits well in cabinet spaces, though some note you may need to make minor adjustments to cabinetry during installation.
How well does it maintain consistent temperature?Based on 4 owner mentions
Most reviewers report the unit holds temperature reliably and consistently. However, some owners note temperature can vary within the unit since there is no internal fan for air circulation, and a few experienced issues where the temperature display did not accurately reflect the actual internal temperature.
What is the drawer design like and how do they operate?Based on 5 owner mentions
The unit features two refrigerated drawers with soft-close action and interior lighting. Most owners praise the smooth, quiet drawer operation and convenient access compared to traditional refrigerators. Some reviewers note occasional issues with drawers not closing fully or requiring a firm push to seal properly.
Does it have adjustable storage and dividers?Based on 3 owner mentions
Yes, the unit includes adjustable dividers and removable shelving to customize storage for different items. Owners appreciate the flexibility for organizing beverages, produce, and condiments, though some note the removable shelves do reduce overall storage capacity.
Are there any recurring issues with water buildup or ice formation?Based on 5 owner mentions
A notable pattern of owners report water pooling or ice buildup in the back corner of the upper drawer. This appears to be a design or drainage issue that recurs across multiple units, and some owners have had to address it with service calls or regular maintenance.
How long do these units typically last?Based on 5 owner mentions
While many owners report satisfaction after several years of use, a concerning pattern shows some units experiencing control panel failures, beeping issues, or cooling problems within 2–3 years. Several owners noted premature failures despite the premium price point, though others report reliable long-term performance.
Is this a good value for the price?Based on 5 owner mentions
Opinions vary on value. Many owners feel the quality, design, and convenience justify the premium cost. However, several reviewers note it is significantly more expensive than standard-size refrigerators and some competing undercounter models, and a few question whether the price is warranted given durability concerns.

- Love the stainless drawers.
Love the white finish and drawers rather than the big lean over when getting a soda.

Brand Background
About Café
Café represents GE Appliances' entry into the luxury refrigerator segment, launched in 2018 and operated under parent company Haier from its Louisville, Kentucky headquarters. The brand has carved out a distinctive niche by emphasizing customizable aesthetics and design-forward styling, allowing homeowners to personalize hardware finishes and handle styles to match their kitchen décor. Fridge.com currently tracks 12 active models from Café, with French door configurations dominating the lineup at eight units—reflecting the brand's focus on premium, full-size kitchen installations. The catalog also includes specialty options such as a beverage center and compact unit, demonstrating some range beyond traditional refrigeration. Models like the CWE23SP4MW2 and CFE28TP3MD1 showcase the brand's commitment to modern aesthetics paired with functional design. With an average rating of 3.8 out of 5, Café occupies a respectable but not exceptional position in owner satisfaction, suggesting that while the brand delivers on visual appeal, performance experiences may vary. For buyers prioritizing kitchen design cohesion and willing to invest in a luxury-tier appliance, Café offers a compelling alternative to conventional stainless steel uniformity.
