We recommend using distilled, bottled OR filtered water, as this will improve the performance of the machine. Tap water with a hardness of less than 100 PPM is also acceptable. Water with excessive calcium will diminish performance and increase the need to clean the machine. The machine will not produce ice if tap water with a hardness of greater than 100 PPM is used.
